I'm working on a electonics design and manufacturing firm, and we want to devellop in a new hardware platform, with a CPU Texas Cortex A8 Gamme Sitara Model AM3517. Today, this hardware platform is working with a distri called Angstrom, based on a 2.6.32 kernel...
Do you think we can replace Angstrom by Android on this platform ???

Hi everyone,
i want to know if we can change the processors of android phones.
my phone is "olive pad vt 100, running android froyo with a 667 mhz qualcom m7227 processor.
i want to change it to some other more powerful processor like snapdragon 1 mhz or somthing like that.
any kinds of sugesstions(positive or negative) are welcome

While it is technically feasible, if the following is true:
The new processor is from the same chipset family, and
The new processor pinout is identical. and
The support chipsets can handle the higher speeds & currents, and
You can purchase the processor (or, get a manufacturer sample), and
You have access to and the talent for using a surface mount desoldering / soldering station.
... In reality, the answer is "No". You would be much better off (and probably a ton cheaper) to go buy the fastest and most powerful Android tablet that is available on the planet in about 3 months.
That's why you aren't seeing many (any?) posts on CPU "upgrades" for smartphones.
Hello everyone ! So I opened this thread to talk and get some clarifications on some of Broadcom SoCs. People with knowledge are wellcome to share some light !
Let's get started ,today the culprit is Broadcom Bcm2157 SoC . Tried to find detailed hardwer informations ,but I only managed to find that this bad boy it is a dual core 500mhz armv6. No infos about gpu or memory interface. So I looked deeper but i found nothing. Then i found about BCM21553 , armv6 with a supposed VideoCore IV Gpu. Could be possible bcm2157 to have the same GPU? If yes , how easy would be to port the android gpu drivers from 21553 source code to 2157?

I am seeking a rom compatible with i-joy asix tablet. These are the specifications:
Processor - Cortex A7 - 4 x 1.2 GHz
Chipset - Allwinner A33
Graphics - MALI-400 MP2 @ 350 MHz
I have opened, and in some chips missing numbers so the following information may be incomplete.
Processor - Allwinner Tech A33 Quadcore E9069AA
Chip unidentified - 4XP223 6113AC 6AX1
Skhynix (ram?) - H5TC4G63 AFR PBR 423 V 1410542200H X010016
Chip unidentified - CG8T2 BC 4452 M18L2677AM
Motherboard - TJ A23 Q88 V4.0_20140815
I have tried various roms, but none works correctly. In all the display fails, or does not turn well, or the touch pad does not work.
I am very interested resurrecting this tablet, it is the only one that I have for the child to read. I wish I had money to buy another, but it is not so

In Philco's site there is nothing about this smartphone, what I want for help is a way what I need to have for testing / build / port ....
I've never been interested in android development, that's when I came across old smartphones that google apps do not support anymore, it reminded me of XdaDevelopers, and I want to help people with old smartphones and some light to them.
