Alright, I have been searching with no solution in sight. I have tried everything.
I deleted many videos and pictures from my phone using the usb cable as I've always done. For some reason, this time around, the gallery will not delete the freaking pictures. It shows the gray box as a thumbnail with an exclamation mark and will not delete.
I have deleted the .thumbs folder, I have emptied data/cache, I have deleted the cache in the /com.cooliris.media/ folder. I have tried using gallery 3d (with some success but the folders that I also deleted still show.
I dont know what to do! It's pissing me off. Even folders that I set to private (putting a period before the name) still show up, although no pictures show up inside them.
I have a rooted Evo 4g with Fresh rom. This problem has been going on with every other rom I put in. Any solutions besides throwing this gorgeous phone against the wall and see it splatter into little pieces?
I'm assuming there's some hidden place where this cache is that keeps everything. Gallery will not reload no matter what I delete

Here's a puzzle that's got me baffled!
Last night took some photos on my phone, plugged it into the laptop to copy them over as I've done nearly everynight for a year.
Went into the \\Storage\DCIM\100Media directory and couldnt see any files at all! Weird I thought.
So went into the Photo Album of the phone to see if they were there.
The photo album showed about 10-20 photos from AGES ago, all other photos had a circle with a line through it (like a stop sign).
Looked again in the directory, couldn't see any files, so reset the phone.
Went into the Album again, only this time it showed the default photos that comes with the phone, again nothing was showing in the 100Media directory.
Paniced at the thought of losing a load of photos but still continued looking.
Something caught my eye, the fact that even though it looked like all my photos had gone, the "number available" that appears in photo mode (the number being the one that shows how many photos you've got left to take) was still showing about 1500.
So took a few random snaps.
Sure enough, the number went down, but they were no where to be found.
Checked the size of Mb free on the storage card, made a note, then set the phone to record nothing for about 10mins.
Sure enough, the size available on the storage card had gone down but still no video was appearing in the 100Media directory.
I've reset the phone several times, any picture I take results in the "number available" going down, a few more videos of varying lengths does indeed show the space available as going down on the storage card but can not find anything anywhere!
Have manually been through every directory on the storage device, can't see anything anywhere.
Anyone had this before or suss out what the problem is and obviouslly where the hell my media is being saved?
Have checked the main device, but of course not there and wouldn't explain where the space available keeps going down.
I'm stumped!!
Install Total Commander and try to search files by date.
That's best I can suggest "out of the hat".
This is going to be a challenge trying to get my point across, but here goes.
Lets say i have one image/video in the gallery and i wish to delete this image/video, i mark it for deletion then select delete, the image/video seems to get deleted, i hit the home button and then re-enter the gallery and the image/video has gone, or has it? now, while still in the gallery if i press the back button to exit the gallery then start the gallery again the image/video is now back, it doesn't matter how many times i delete the image/video, it allways comes back, even afer a reboot, now here's the really strange bit, when i check to see if the files have been delete from the USB storage using a file browser i find that they infact have been deleted, but they still show up in the gallery, this behaviour occurs with all image and video files, camera files, received files over bluetooth, etc.
I hope you all can understand what i am trying to say and i hope i got my point across ok, btw, this is the second Nexus S i've had that exibits this issue, i've also done a few factory resets on both Nexus S's i've had, but this issue just wont go away.
This seems to me like it's a bug in Android 2.3's gallery app, does anyone else see this very strange behaviour? could someone test this on thier Nexus S? does Google know about this issue?
BTW, this issue only seems to occur when i delete all images and videos in all folders, or if i delete all folders that are in the gallery, i would have mentioned this earlier but i had only took one video and one pic to test the camera.
Anybody know why pictures in my website is showing as placeholder on my WP7.5? It used to show up properly, but now just icons appears. I viewed it on my wife's iPhone 4s and the picture shows up normally. Downloaded SurfCube, I still get placeholders. It's a demo reel sites, and everybody's site pictures loads properly. Regional settings? Hidden settings? Anybody knows?
Thanks in Advance.
I would suggest that you clean out all temporary internet files form your phone, as I think your image-cache is corrupted somehow.
You can do this by going into the settings of Internet Explorer and push the button that says 'Clear History'. Don't be fooled by the label, it actually cleans out everything, including caches.
Oh, and don't forget to exit IE, and restart. If not, you will still be holding on to the old files...
Having a problem on my wife's skyrocket. When she takes a picture, the gallery shows that there are 3 of the same pic. This happens with everything in the gallery, videos included. And when you delete items, they come back after a reboot. Only way I have been able to permanently delete items is through astro or root explorer.
She is using AOKP m6.

Try going settings>applications and clearing media storage data then restarting your phone.
Hey, I've been struggling with two different things on whatsapp:
It keeps creating a .nomedia file within the "SENT" folder of whatsapp media. Everytime I delete it (so I can see the media in the gallery) it keeps appearing after a reboot, whilst I cant see those images pre-reboot in the gallery.
I did disable the storage permissions for whatsapp, but it made no difference. Any hints?
Green tint. Every photo I take with the front camera with the phone working slowly or having many colors in the picture gives this effect. It's somewhat known and I've tried asking whatsapp, but no answer
i got the same issue
