From what I read in different articles, the hardware specifications of the Xperia X10 and the Xperia Arc are almost the same. (Camera 8.1 MP, HD Video frame rate, etc) The Arc is what the X10 should have been. According to Google, there are no hardware limitations for running Android 2.3, aka Gingerbread. What if you let SE do all (or most) of the work for you? If the Arc is almost identical to the X10, then surely the final released firmware version by SE for the Arc, could be ported to the X10 by just tweaking the firmware in some way or the other? (To make the software of the Arc thinks it's on the Arc, but actually X10 running and functioning the same as the Arc). As this is not my field of expertise, would something like that be possible?

Hi guys, i need your help, i must choose between this two phones, HTC TATOO or SONY ERICCSON XPERIA X10 MINI. I like a lot htc tatoo doubt to its interface and because i've also tried it, but also xperia x10 mini is quicker and with better photo camera than tatoo, it is also heard that there will be soon a froyo update for xperia... this is a mess. In adition what about market place app it will be limited for xperia doubt to the small screen 2.55"?. I must take the decission by today or tomorrow. What would you choose as experienced user, tatoo or xperia x10 mini??
Your help will be highly appreciated!!!!
My suggestion would be xperia mini/pro . touch screen is good, 5mp camera with AF and flash(tattoo lacks AF), video recording upto 30fps(tattoo 14fps).
i used almost 70apps in the market(only swype not working). AGPS, good x10 uI.
no doubt this will be the best mid range android phone.
soon expecting android 2.1 update and HD video recording
Hi!
thanks for your reply, after waiting and getting that nobody replied i finally went to a shop to see x10mini in a shop. I noticed this phone is a really small one, with a really small screen also that can make you difficult to manage in the touch screen, so i finally decided to go on with tatoo i know is a bit older but i think is a good smartphone.
I notice that that someone is working o the X10 mini and that confuses me cause the X10 is more popular with ppl who would likely use PSFreedom. now if the usb controller is the same then it may work with the X10 but the processors are different so i dono.
So is anyone working on the X10 version of PSFreedom? or has anyone gotten another phones version working on the X10 cause I'd really like to jailbreak my ps3
Hi everyone,
First, i'm new here, and I love this site
Second, I'm from Belgium, so if you can't read what I wrote, it's normal, I don't speak english very well.
Third, there is my question : could you make a list for me, with all mobile phones, in which i could put Cyanogenmod (and if i could root it of course). Because I'll maybe change my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 because i saw in another forum that it's impossible to make a Cyanogen for X10, and also because X10 is very late for updates (I'm on Android 1.6, 2.2 will be released in March 2010).
Thank you for your help

Ok thank you I'm sad xD
Do you think Cyanogen will never create a ROM for our X10 ?
And if not, are there other really nice ROMs for X10 ?
I don't think X10 has been rooted yet, so I don't know if you even load a Custom ROM or flash a new image.
SE said they will get Froyo for X10 in November(?), while keeping Eclair for the X10 mini, X10 mini pro etc. In another "unofficial interview", CEO of SE said that they are planning something big, I think this is a PSPhone since Sony had failed to even announce a PSP2.
I'm guessing that the rumour was true, and SE will announce a Froyo phone that will be able to accept Sony's memory cards and Sony will allow that device to enter the PSN (same as the PSP Go's Market). This phone will be a slide / tilt / flipout with the gamepad on the bottom, where the top layer is the touchscreen and SE's 3 buttons. I'm guessing it will be plastic and it will resemble the X10 (not a good thing).
It would probably have something powerful beneath it; definantly 1GB LDDR2 RAM (or more) + 1GHz A8 processor (or more) + SGX540 (or more).
I also think it will have a miniHDMI connector like the HTC EVO 4G, for presentation/gaming.
All in all, it will (have to) be better than all the smartphones on the market including the N900/Milestone2/GalaxyS/iPhone4 and it will definantly be expensive (on-par with the iPhone4 or even more expensive since Sony is a greedy company).
If you can shell-out for it, you won't be disappointed ... the Playstation name is too valuable to stain!
Thank you for your answer Ekin, even if I didn't understand everything
But on xda-dev on the forum, I found the way to root it, but I'm not going to do it if there is no ROM to add :'(
Thank you
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
For Christmas Santa was very kind to me and gave me a Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro. It has a great keyboard, can record HD video, and has built in wi-fi. The one thing I absolutely hate about this phone is that it runs Symbian.
Some quick Googling showed me that it has not yet been done.
My question is, can android from some other Sony Ericsson Android phones be ported to the Vivaz pro?
Thanks,
Matt
I have the same probem. Symbian sucks;p
Sorry Guys. But There will never be a Android-Version for Vivaz. Maybe wait for Vivaz 2. This will be sold with android.
maybe when the vivaz 2 is out someone will port it to the original vivaz. hopefully
Can anyone post Android from Xperia PRO to Vivaz PRO ... I mean they both have HW keyboard so ... or is even anyone working on porting any Android on our Vivaz Pro? I d love to have android there ...
My friend has SE Vivaz mobile.. Is there any custom Android OS which can be installed on it.??
I've got same problem... I've found out that we can't install Android on our Vivaz, because it needs more than 74 MB of phone memory. I'm sorry to know it and I'm affraid we have to give up
So, my friend owns a Sony Ericsson Aino phone and he's starting to envy my xperia x8 with custom Android 2.2 ROM. Now he's wondering, is it possible to run any Android version in an Aino?
BUMP!!
Please can someone help?
Hi, I think that Sony Ericsson Aino & Satio, doesn't have any posibility to run Android.
I only know, and happily have one, HTC HD2 is the only NO native Android phone, that became an Android fully operational phone.
I have also a Samsung Omnia Pro, and I tried the Andromnia project, but doesn't work fine, only a few accesories works, and is not a fuctional phone.
Bye.
