Only thing I wanna do is change my messanging icon to the iphones icon. & is there a way to make my messanging app work like that also? With the green bubbles like on iphone

I founda better way to sum it up. Basically is there a way to apply icon packs without a home replacement.

Folder Organizer
Tasker
there are probably other apps that can do it too. FO is the easiest, Tasker has other great uses to make it worth buying.

There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.
UPDATE: Dev updated the home button to have the option of going to default screen or to the leap view. Also has auto rotation wich is something sense does not allow.

Its definitely intetesting, I just don't know how long I could deal with missing things like the friendstream widget.
That being said, I really like the app drawer. Its very awesome!

Exactly! Gotta have the sense widgets. I use for HelixLauncher 2 for about 5min then I have to switch back to sense.
You can pull from your app drawer the friendstream app, that's really all I miss, the sense widgets look great but are too big for my liking. If you use beautiful widgets from their clock you can set shortcuts to, calender, clock alarm, and weather.

i downloaded launcherpro. i only have 3 screens, unlink with sense when i have like 5 or something. also i have no idea what this app drawer, maybe its the menu button thing that opens all your apps, but if it is its the same thing as sense except cool animation.
also side note, im using chompsms widget, i saw some pics of someone using it and it had pic of the person in the widget, do i need to donate to get that or what?
It has three by default. Hit the menu button then preferences you can have up to seven screens.

Found it, downloaded it, used it, deleted it.
If I diddnt have sense, I'd be all over this. But for me, it just seems a little redundant. I personally, prefer the real thing.
i dont use the builtin messaging app on my phone, i use chompsms. is there a way to replace the messaging icon next to contacts and applications with the chompsms icon?
I think it depends on the launcher you use.

It has been ages since I used the TW launcher, but I believe you open your app drawer, press menu, change to customizable grid, then menu then edit... then maybe just drag it down there.
If you are using another launcher, it would be considerably easier.
EDIT, yeah, just booted up, that is how you do it....
You can then change it back to alphabetical if that is your preference, the dock icons will remain the same as you changed them.
With the stock launcher (tw launcher) the stock email program icon will overlay the number of new items. This does not happen in go launcher. How do i get the icon to show # of new messages?

I've since tried a few of the other launchers and found that notifications are lacking in them.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get any of the launchers to display notifications the same way as the default launcher? I like seeing the red number on the email icon.
Also is there a way to get the voicemail icon to display the number in any launcher including stock? I hate having to watch the notification bar for an increase in the number (up from 3) indicating that i need to drop the bar to see what additional notifications are available.

Have you tried the Go Notification plugin for Go Launcher. I don't use it, but it sounds like what you are looking for.
I hadnt. I'll have to give it a try as I did like go launcher a lot

The go launcher notification plug-in is what i'm lookin for except that it needs notifications for email, phone calls, voice mail... So disapointing.

Is it possible to change a app icon on the lockscreen to a widget?
more importantly the wifi hotspot settings button.
I think if you include it on the bottom of the 4 places that HTC uses, they should appear on the lockscreen
sent using HTC1S
The lockscreen only shows what app icons are currently in your dock, and since you can't put widgets in your your dock it won't work.
Try widgetlocker app if its something you really need. It's a paid app but worth it, lots of cool options.

Use WidgetLocker from Play market. It might have that feature.
Right now I'm using Notification Toggle from the Play store.. and there are several other apps that do the same thing.. Lets you put many different settings in your notification pull-down which you can access from lock screen
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows of an app which can change the icons in the app drawer? I've tried many apps but all they do is change the home screen icons. Any help on how to do this would be very much appreciated.

This function may be possible by switching to a different launcher, but I do not know which launcher would be capable of doing this. Usually the images in the drawer are read directly from the apk, and the apps which change the icons on the home screen can get around this by making a widget with the specified icon, which points to the application.
If there are only a few applications you want changed, it is possible to change them the hard way, by extracting the apk, changing the icon in the "/res/drawable-?dpi" folder, and then installing the new application by hand. (It will no longer be signed, so you will have to go to allow this in Settings > Applications > Unknown sources)
I don't think any launchers are capable of changing app drawer icons. Looks like I may have to do it the hard way

Launcher pro can change app drawer icons,as can adw launcher. Just get an icon pack...or better still, make one. It's easier with launcher pro.

I'm using adw launcher and it can't change the icons. I have a really cool icon pack, and it changes the icons... but not all of them.. so everything doesn't match. On adw you can't manually change the icons of an individual app. I'll give launcher pro a go

Try LiveHome. With this launcher, you can manually change the icon and also label name of any app in appdrawer.
Cheers man. It won't recognise my icon pack though, but still, it's the first launcher I've seen that can change the app drawer icons

When i press long a Icon in the Drawer this comes direct on my Desktop, no Options , the Options are only at the Desktop!
Why ??
Nova launcher just got an update, now to change an app drawer icon (to a picture from gallery and hence a uzip, or from an apk) long press on the app icon in the draw. Drag it to the edit symbol. Click the app icon in the edit popup. Choose icon as desired!
