i love Evo .. and soon i will join the Evo Clup lol .. i have a friend wanted me to root his evo and i did my best to do it and guess what ... i tried the this app
z4root1.3.0 apk and it worked as Temprory Root wich means if you reboot the device you need to open the app again and re-root it again ..
is'nt that great it was soo easy and no more crap or miss with the evo anymore

I just have a question and need some help....yes I have searched and searched but still no answer...
Anywayz anytime I try to enter any comand in either the terminal emulator or the recovery console it says that I do not have root access...but I am pretty positive that I do have root access...I am able to load all sorts of ROMs...I could be wrong...as I stated I am a newb to android hacking/or otherwise...please respond kindly.
would love to be able to help but I am an even bigger noob than you when it comes to android. I dont even have an android "approved" phone. I have the rhodium build. which is great and I love it and as soon as they get the speaker options fixed where i can use ringtones and junk - i am so switching to android.
"Android" phones Rawx....lol....imo Android is the greatest phone OS available....so many features and options...I am so new to this hacking stuff so i need help terribly...lol....By the way to all that are willing to help me I can research what spl,radio, and etc when needed...I dont know what they are off hand....so if ya need to know please ask me and I will respond a.s.a.p........ the phone I currently have is the T-Moble G1.....so please help this newb out...

I had a similar issue on my Samsung BH 2. I had to reinstall the Superuser.apk
Worked for me, maybe it'll work for you.
im running a samsung moment with 2.1 and i had to run an update script to gain root. most the roms i have seen dont root your phone you need to run i scipt like i had to or use the superuser app. there is a link to that somewhere on here just not sure where sorry

hiya,, i have rooted my gsm htc hero using uiversal androot,, and it works perfectly,, ive only just started getting into all the rooting and stuff,, lol but i gotta say its the easiest methoad than those shown on utube !!.. try checking out the cyanogen website after uve rooted for roms,, and gud luk !!

Once you are rooted, I could recommend the rom in my sig It has a working wifitether built in.

I been lookinq on how to root a garminfone which runs on tmobile network...i have found it can be rooted but after reboot desapears....alsoo noone have got it into recovery mode.....as yuh knoww...thee phone now has android 2.1 but it stills look pretty ugly i can say.. and besides ...satelitte GPS Doesnt even work....
now...is there someone who could load a rom on this phone...or something....?
it would be pretty good if wee spend some time on this phone, becausee i got some people that got this phone and they dont lik howw android looks on it...

Guys the developer of gingerbreak has just released the apk file. Did somebody tried it?? I wanted to buy Desire S, but due to lack of root till today and very low interest of developers is disappointing me... But Gingerbreak has gave me a hope.
Can anybody confirm if it works on desire s?
