Hi,
Does anyone know a way to get support for .mpg MPEG1 video files in the default (or 3rd party) web browser? I need to access and view websites that have embedded .mpg files.
Thanks

noob question.
I've been testing several dlna clients on my TF101 and I can't seem to find a way to play .srt subtitles.
I can play most of the A/V the files from my dlna server using various programs on my TF but none seems able to understand the corresponding subtitle files.
Some programs have the option to start the movie and then load a local .srt file, but that is way inconvenient.
Ideas?
Alternately, is there any other way to play back movies stored on NAS without the use of DLNA? (much like my popcorn does using a network browser)
Hi,
I installed File Expert on Asus EEEpad transformer in order to watch movies from network server.
I use Vplayer in order to do so , but when i launch an AVI file, a pop up opens with a browsers choice only (firefox, native browser, opera and skyfire)
How can i modify file association to open avi files with Vplayer ?
Thank you
Very likely if you launch your application Vplayer, in the settings, you should fine the option to run Vplayer as a default.
Thanks for your quick reply, but there are no such preferences in Vplayer settings (or i didnt found them...)
Hi xperts,
I have watchSeries app in my Note 3 to watch TV series and movies . when i click on any stream link (i.e. Videoweed , novamov, nowvideo etc) that link open in browser and it does not ask to select any player like MX playe,r BS player . It does not work properly ( full screen) sometime in any browser even i have installed flash player and tried multiple browsers ( Dolphine, photon, chrome, opera)
I have tried HUBI but that also does not support all type of links ( vshare, movreel etc ).
Is there any way that i can open video stream links directly in player instead of copy-paste URL from browser bar to players screen.?
VGET is the best option but that has also limitation. It is slow, does not detect lots of embed links . whatseries, videomix and other app does treat it as browser
There should be some plugin for browsers, which detect video stream in link in browser and when we click to play then it should ask to open video in Player instead of running in browser.
any full-proof suggestion would be appreciated .
Have you looked in the settings at the Default Applications and see if that's causing your problem?
Thanks
Thanks for reply. default setting is cleared.
Actaually I am looking something like VGET app. which can be treated as browser and can open video files in Players ( MX player or other )
bcoz Dholphin, Boat and other browsers are not good.
Hi, I am helping out a math instructor to let his students watch videos that he recorded during class on their own phones, tablets.
And i found that the video format is MTS.
I got a internal network http file server system running and mounted all the files, mp4 file streams are looking good with MX player.
But when I attempt to open a link that refers to MTS files, they do not stream. They just download on the phones.
And it seems like it works when I paste the url on the app manually, but does not when I click the link on the browser... So I assume it is a problem that the browser cannot handle MTS files as video formats...
Q.Can I modify the browser(I'm using chrome, but I can let the students use any other apps) by some settings to associate the MTS file links to MX player?
P.S. I was not allowed to encode the files to any another formats, because those files need to be big enough (so nobody else could steal them easily&sneaky, the instructor is selling those videos to non-students, so stealing would be a big problem.), and all the computers they have literally suck at encoding. (Probably 1 : 2 / video runtime : rendering time ratio, even the server sucks.)
Sorry for the poor grammar and thank you!

We have checked with the latest version of the MX Player with the latest version of the chrome. MX Player is listed properly when the MTS file link is clicked. In our tests, Firefox has shown the similar issue as Firefox uses standard mime types.
Kindly check it again with chrome.
If you prefer Firefox, assign a video mime (like video/mp2ts) for mts extension on your server. Then it will also work.

I have added the mime-type on the server and it worked.
Thank you!

Hi,
First of all, sorry if this the wrong place to ask this question. When I try to open mkv videos with any file browser and I have opera as default browser, the only option available is to download with opera. If change my default browser to, for example, samsung browser, i can choos open .mkv with VLC, system player, etc.
Is there any solution for this?
Thanks
