[Q] SD Card Issues - G Tablet General

With all the great minds on this forum, surely someone will have some insight into my problem. To start with I am running the latest Vegan release (thanks Team) and have been since 1/1. The only thing I can think of that might have caused this problem was that I foolishly removed my SD card without dismounting it and popped in a blank one to see if it was working. Since then, I am unable to mount an SD card. If just says "Unmount in Progress". When I click on unmount, it will unmount it and give me the "Mount SD card" option, when I try to mount it, it will say "preparing SD card", then go back to "Unmount in Progress". When I try to mount a new card, it says "Card blank or unsupported file system". But all the other card I have used in my Gtab give me the same Unmount in Progress issues. I reinstalled Vegan. Apps that used to work, no longer work, they just open and close (No FC message)
Someone please help !!!

rooted g1 help-took out sd card no everything is a mess

Edit* title should read "now" not "no"
I am running cyanogen on my rooted g1 and have it so I save to my sd card. I didnt know taking out the sd card is bad, but anyways i did it and now all my apps are gone and when i try to "wipe sd: ext partition" it tell me to run "wipe_ext" in console but that doesnt work. someone told me to just run "part sd: fat32+ext2+swap" and then it says to run "sdtools.sh" in console, so i did that and console says:
"Usage: /sbin/sdtools.sh [OPTION]...
Options:
-h --help Display this help
-p --print Display SD partitions
-s --split Create 500MB ext2, 32MD swap and fill remaining
-c --clean Create 1 fast32 partition"
but I dont know what to type in, I typed "-h" it doesnt do anything "--help" also nothing. what do i type into console here?
Also a g1 guru told me I might have really messed it up and have to update the partition, but how do I do this. I cannot wipe the sd from andriod OS settings, and cant seem to do it from recovery mode. Also when i plug the phone into my computer it doesnt recognize it and says to insert an sd card. The notification bar on my g1 also has the icon and notice that says "Removed SD card - SD card removed. Insert a new one." when the sd card is obviously in the g1. should I just buy a new sd card, will that fix all this!? haha
Thanks for any help.
This seems super old, and has likely already been addressed. BUUUUTTTTTT...
It sounds like you fried your SD card. This has happened to me before. Last ditch effort would be for you to get an SD adapter (either a transFlash or USB thinger), and try to format by plugging the SD card directly into your computer. If that works, then insert your SD card back into your phone, boot into recovery, and see if you can partition the card, then. If it works, you're good to go! If not, you may have to say goodbye to the card.

SD Card Issue

I have a rooted htc evo and i rooted using unrevokd 3.3 and my phone is like 5 days old.
My problem is i was messing around at the i guess boot-loader screen and accidentally selected recovery and now every time i reboot my phone my sd card says preparing like normal then a couple minutes later it says( mounted readonly the sd card has an unexpected problem. tapping) i cant read the rest. Also when i select report error is says( clockworkmod recovery v3.0.0.2 /tmp/recovery.log was copied to /sdcard/clockworkmod/recovery.log.
"please help" and i also just click fix permission n it said done what does that mean and do?
"Also, when i fix permission it still say mounted readonly and then i tap the notification then it goes away and sometimes pop back up saying mounted readonly
Take the card out and reboot.
The cards flash memory may have an error, try another sd card. You may have to reformat it.
ok i will try this out i will let you know how this go.
hey i think it worked n i just reformatted my sd card...but thanks and i will keep you updated.

[Q] Need Help Please.

I am rooting my daughters Droid Eris. I used the app from the market and flashed Cyanogen 7. Everything went well until I tried to start restoring her apps and found that the phone is saying there is no sd card. When I go into setting to mount it it is greyed out and wont do anything. the gallery and rom manager also say there is no sd card. the card I am using is not partitioned. I tried taking a partitioned sd out of my old Cliq and putting it in and then it says it has a unsupported system or something like that but I did notice that the mount sd in settings was no longer greyed out. If I reboot into recovery it will recognize the card because it lists what is on it. I have searched everything I can find and cant find any answers. Oh, also, when I plug in the usb to the computer it does nothing then either. Any Ideas??
When I put the partitioned card in from the cliq it says blank card or unsupported file system. I tried to hit mount card in setting but it just says blank card and It is not a blank card.

[Q] Sd Card Issue Causes Immediate Crash And Reboot

So I've been running a CM10 nightly build version for awhile now. No issues whatsoever. However after making no ROM changes to my phone for several weeks, I wokeup this morning with my phone auto rebooting every time it tried to activate the SD card at first boot.
What I've done so far:
Backed up all my photos from the SD card by booting into recovery
Attempted format the SD and all formattable mounts.
Wiping all caches.
Resetting to factory defaults
Recalling on my backup restore point (failed)
What I'm running into:
The SD Card can not be modified. I've tried running the "Fix permissions" utyx on Clockwork recovery, and it is failing. I can't format it, I can't delete anything from it, and I can't add anything to it. Very unusual. Is this a hardware failure? That's the direction I am currently leaning toward.
Thank you.
Just updating on my progress with diagnosis.
Clarification: Mounting the SD to USB in Recovery 'does' allow files to be pulled off. Deleting files from the mounted drive from within windows makes it appear like the files are deleted. Remounting the SD Card show's the files have returned.
Attempted Troubleshooting: Mounted SD card to PC, and ran formatting from PC side. Format, upon reaching 100% says the format has failed. SD Card becomes unreadable from the PC. Dismounting from USB and navigating to "Install zip" show's as no files. Then performing an SD Formatting from recovery on the phone returns all files as if a format has never been run. I am not attempting to format from PC again.
Very frustrating. Second format completed successfully. unmounting the sd card from pc and remounting show'd a clean sd card. Going to "install from sdcard" show'd a blank file system. Unmounting the SD Card from the phone internally via recovery, and remounting it returns all files back to the sd card.
I almost feel like the "read only" switch has somehow been tagged physically on the card.
Edit: don't want to bump my own thread for this partial update. I've had 0 success. The only thing I can think of trying is loading a different recovery engine (maybe TWRP), however I can recall the exact commands and steps to be able to push something like that.
Short and sweet "I think she's dead Jim", unless someone has some input.
