Just curious if anyone has come up with the proper virtual device settings to use when developing apps.

Hello,
We received roughly 30 Xoom Tablets to deploy in an Educational Environment. We're used to, with the iOS Devices, being able to apply Wireless Settings and lock down certain areas. Is this at all possible with the Xoom? I'd love to be able to lock down the system settings. I see that there is a 'Device Administrator' section on the Xoom but I heard that only Third-Party Apps use this section so I'm a bit confused. Is the a third-party app we can get to password protect system changes? Thanks!
hi guys, have anyone tried using android assistant apps to boost or kill applications?
heard that android system does not need any task killer to boost speed and performance, so was wondering whether this apps is considered as 'task killer'?
TIA
Hello. I expose my problem. I'm at a university and i want to connect my fone with the wi-fi but some applications like viber don't work because of the general firewall. I want to know if there is an apk to disable this fire wirewall. Something like frozenway on pc.
[Q] Can someone with knowledge of an app called "GLTools" help me with a problem?
Hi. I'm having a problem with my GLTools. I installed it and granted it SU permissions, enabled custom settings, optimised GPS settings, etc for Nvidia Shield exclusive games: "Portal" and "Half-Life 2" which runs on the Tegra 4 template, however the app crashes after the Valve logo, as it would without the GLTools app. I have installed the apk and downloaded all the correct data for the apps. How can I get this app to start working correctly with my Tegra apps so they can run on my phone without crashing before they start? I contacted the developer. He was no help. I have an LG Optimus G running on Android 4.1.2. Thanks for your help and have a great day!
P.S. The settings in GLTools that I have tried for both of my apps include: Enable custom settings for this app, optimise GLSL shades, use fake GPU info, use a template (Tegra 4), simple mapbuffer emulation, software VBO emulation, use packed stencil buffer, half-float texture hack, fix FBO attachment sizes, and decode sRGB.
Unfortunately we can't be of much help either. You need to realize that not all apps on play store will work with every device and that is why the app developer may not be able to assist you. There's no magic wand we can wave to make 3rd party apps compatible with every device. You may have to accept whatever games you're playing "as is".

Gltools is meant to be compatible with my phone. The developer said that in his email that there are reports that it works on the LG Optimus G and I should look at some device forums, but I couldn't find those forums. There are settings in GLTools that are supposed to help my game become compatible with my phone, that's the point of the app. Someone with knowledge of GLTools would know what settings I should use or special steps I should take to get GLTools to work correctly with my apps. Do you know any steps/settings I can use to make GLTools work with my apps and make them run correctly? If not, do you know any XDA forums I should post my question to? Thanks
Hi all,
I am looking for a way to fully restrict access to settings (without using a password app) & certain apps on my companies Android devices. This is so no customer/clients/employees can mess around with the settings.
I have successfully done this in the past using Tom Tom devices (cloning and reimaging thousands of devices using SD) but the new tablets we have are unnamed Chinese phone tablets.
I have explored the option of creating a restricted user but this sadly only allows me to restrict certain apps (not even the settings app). To get this option, I had to root the device and add a few lines to the properties file as this wasn't supported/ hidden on the device.
I would like to restrict access to everything except wifi, mobile data, camera & app updates/installs & our custom apk. Any ideas?
- I'm open to creating a custom ROM but since this is the companies device, I'm scared to brick
Firmware Version: 4.4.2
(Edit: Highest software available for the device is 4.4.2 according to update utility)
Device Model: SOTEN82_WE_KK
(According to Kingo Root screen before root)
Do I need to add more info?
Anyone?
Bump
Perhaps you have to root the device, and need some management app for your purpose.

Can you recommend a management app? This has to be easily reversible/cloned

Sorry for that I have not a management app now. But on my mobile phone, there is a stock feature, Student Mode.
The screenshot as below. FYI.
Where do you find student mode?
