Hello Guys !!!!
I have The Magic Rom v 5.0.2H Installed Currently On my ADP1...
I AM IN INDIA
So As we know ADP1 Cannot See Paid Apps....
I Have The Quick Office apk installed Dont know which Version may be the one from Sapphire System Folder by Xmoo or From The Custom Build From Rild or someone with similar User Name Here (There Is A build on XDA)
Today while browsing on my ADP1, Got a Popup Saying Quick Office Update Is Available,
So I clicked on that Notification,
It Took Me to The Android Market,...To the Quick Office Paid App Costing $19~
Also Shows The Buy Option !!!
But When I checked Android Market Again, It Dint Show Any Paid App.... But opening Quick Office Sometime Shows Its App Download Window On The Market...
So I Think Even ADP1 OR Rooted Phones Can See Paid APP By Some Hack....
Please Post Your Ideas...

Ok, so you have the ADP1 phone, but are running an RC (read - NON-ADP) firmware. And what is shocking is that you think you still have an ADP1 phone. Sure the hardware is the same and you have that fancy back cover, but if the software says RC - that is the only thing the market can see. So that is how your phone is identified as an ADP or "Normal" phone.

His signature says he has this phone:
Phone : ADP1
Bootloader : Hard SPL
ROM : JF 1.43 ADP 1.1h
Yes kathi but what he's saying is, the OP is not running ADP firmware so the market has no idea what the back cover looks like or how much he paid for his phone.
As far as the market is concerned, he's running a standard T-Mobile G1 with RC33.
Kinda like if i boot my mac into Vista... I'm not going to get apple updates, i'm going to get windows updates... MS doesn't know (or care at least) that i'm on mac hardware. They just know I'm running windows.
Sorry Man You R Wrong,
If It was so that changing the firmware, would show paid apps,
Even Going to JF RC versions frim ADP versions would fetch me 1 or 2 paid apps...
Changing the firmware dosen't change the whole phone info...
The information Regarding Paid Apps Is stored on a lower level which dosen't change by a change in firmware...
What I Think Is May Be The Change in Radio Can Do This because The Radio Partition is not accessible via the UI
OR
Also The Bootloader Changes May Be Responsible This,
As Magic Rom Has An Option To Change The Radio & Bootloader ... These Require Recovery Mode to Be Flashed & Which Are Not Provided In The Source...
Haykuro,
First Off All, Thanks For Magic ROM,
Need To Ask U Some Questions:
1. Where Did The Radio & Bootloader Come From & Did You Did Any Changes To It ?
(May Be It Was Updated OTA I Know Bootloader Comes OTA)
Ok, well I just looked closer and I see that you are still running an ADP firmware, it's just a JF build.
I assure you though, when I put ADP firmware on my phone, I can't get protected apps.
When I put an RC firmware, I can.
The market blocks apps based soley on your firmware, not the bootloader or radio.
ADP = no protected apps
RC = no restrictions
As far as how you were able to see Quick Office, I have no idea. So on that note, I digress.

No Its Not ADP Firmware The Firmware Itself Means The Build
i.e. Firmware Means:
1.0, 1.1, 1.5,...
& Build Means:
ADP1, ADP1.1, JF ADP1, JF ADP1.1, RC, JF RC, haykuro 5.0.2H, haykuro 5.0.1G, ...
So Firmware & Build Dosent Matter...
Fair enough, you've got me on semantics.
Up until the 1.5 firmwares (Haykuro's builds) started hitting up the market, the standard restrictions were as I stated above.
At this time, as far as I know, nobody knows what's going on with the Market. Since Google released the 1.5 SDK, maybe they're now making changes to the market to either purposely block 1.5 firmware until they're ready or maybe the market is truly being upgraded to only supply the correct version of apps for the correct firmware.
Either way, I stand by my original comment that up until now, ADP builds were not able to see protected apps, while all RC derivatives were. Now that RC33 includes both 1.1 and 1.5 firmware, I guess all bets are off until somebody can verify what's actually going on.

Oh, you are right. I looked back and saw his signature. I should have read his post over again and seen that he was using Haykuro's build.
I'm slapping myself in the side of my head!
edit: I went from the same JF version Sangreet had to the same Haykuro version he has now, and can also see protected apps. It's because Haykuro added the code to make the market think we are on RC33. As of last night, the G builds couldn't download on the market, but the H builds could. (I just got on here a few minutes ago, so I don't know if this has changed).

Yeah, I'm having a hard time reading this morning too.
I saw "His Stuffs" and assumed the theme he created was the build he was running. I didn't see Haykuro's build either.
I'll just back away slowly and go back to nursing my hangover.
I still stand behind my basic point though
Sorry I updated my Sig now,
Skri11a, you got me what I was saying, great thinking may b what u said
But what I think is if its so, all paid apps would be visable,
Lets see what surprise Google has for us.

i already read somewhere that they lifted the ban on paid apps partially .. something about paid apps that don't encrypt or something or other .. i don't recall the exact wording the press used but some apps have been made visible to ADP for at least a month or so
Hope that's true, and ado. Users see paid apps atleast on official ROMs

I'll load it up this morning and let you know if I see any issues!
Ahhh perfect, I was poking around to see what I would need to do to bring the multitouch browser to H (I already have the Voice Search and Dialer) and I find this. Thank's dude.
Hmmmm sounds tempting, but how does the speed compare to adp hr3?

Not 100% sure, but this loads faster on mine. I "overclock" to slow to save battery haha but I didn't notice a difference running hr3. I've been going back and forth trying to get what I need. The blue lock screen overlay is actually the MAIN reason I am doing this. Stupid, huh?
Key factor may be that I DID update the radio.
I did leave out superuser, spare parts, and anything else that can be installed normally for those who don't want them. I change my mind about apps hourly so I try to keep default installs as clean as possible to avoid troublesome adb commands.
This sounds very intersting. Does it include the Exchange integration from the 5.0H build?
This is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for... soon as you get locked down which apps ur keeping, I'm on it.
Sounds great twisted. I'm in love with 5.0.2H because of the mail app and pdfviewer. Yesterday I stepped up to ADP1.5 and although it was fast, it's missing these key components that I use daily. I look forward to you app log.
This is really interesting. I can't wait to hear(read) thee results. Lol

It currently has the 5.0.2 exchange. I saw no point in taking it out. I don't use it but I know it's far easier to remove system components like that than it is to implement them once an update is installed.
So far I see no real difference in Gmail. Mail seems to crash for me in 1.5 with something about a Plus account - looks like 5.0.2 mail stays. Maps and Market will be updated because I see no reason not to.
Any thoughts on Gmail? Anyone see any updates worth having?
Can you put the H build camera in the build instead of the 1.5.3 camera? The HTC camera was far superior than the google implementation. That's all I can think of so far

H camera crashed when using the camera button. The one I'm using is the one from the "add features to 5.0.xH" thread. Seems to be the most stable and all you really lose is zoom. Forgot to take out additional HTCAlbum, though. Planning to fix this and some other updates when I get back to my hideout. If I can remap the H camera button I will get that in there, but that takes a little longer than just swapping apks.

Please allow me time to obtain all the information I need (and the conmplimentary copy of Paragon) before I begin posting parallel versions for those of you that require a2sd. Until then I am taking the advice of a pm and adding in the black vk. It is "slick"
Please feel free to follow me on twitter at the same name. Much as I have followed the trend of making one for such an endeavor.
Please excuse the fact that I edit my posts almost immediately. I view them from my G1 and while the logic may be flawed, I find them cleaner when words do not hang loosely into additional lines.

This was for those, like me, that liked the original look and feel of the Haykuro 5 series builds and didn't want to miss out on the new features of the 1.5 series builds. My own firmware is very custom so no screenshots currently.

Please let me know if you test this and find any bugs. I know altering updates MAY cause items to crash when installed. I will fix them ASAP.
Currently in the process of checking out Dude's Cupcake to see if anything in there might improve the build.

Almost deff :L lol, Oh dont meen to be fussy but ayway you you edit the title of the thread whenever you update? only this seems a very intrsting build as i tooo love the HTC look and dont wanna loose the feel exactly cheers for your work dude
everything seems to work. not seeing the multi-touch...suppose to be there right. not a big deal, just testing out the version.
How is this going?
Still developing the build?
Looks great, and appears to fit me perfectly!
However, what is the difference between the two builds that you link to in your first post?
Is the 5.0.2hr5-twisted.zip the normal version, while the 5.0.2hr5a-twisted.zip is the Apps2SD version?

Sorry apps2sd is still coming. Having technical difficulties with getting both my G1 and computer to recognize the same partitions. The new version has the Andreoid keyboard included along with updates to youtube, maps, and market. The slider problem still exists for a day or two. Wanted to get the new market in place because I isolated the market download issue to have been cooperation between market and launcher. Now that the new market accepts downloads I can fix launcher. Expect updates tomorrow. I have a 4-hour block of boredom. Hehe.

Still isolating libs and such. JesusFreke redid the kernel so the program alone was not enough. Didn't think that far ahead when I was throwing parts together. I'm learning as I tear apart the 7 builds on my desktop. I just have to teach myself as I go.
Open source never meant well-documented.
Plans are in the works to go backwards from the HTC build, but like most others I need something to default back to when I'm not testing. Building this version was first priority with that being my next step. That is when the speed increases will occur with some new features. Can't say I'm not a dreamer, right?

Beautiful!
I love your work!
I got tons of problems with the official beta, so I was wondering what the latest version is and if anyone happens to have the .apk. Thanks!
I'm using version 1.16.12.5230.t and it works great. Don't use ant other keyboard anymore. Swiftkey is great too, but not near as easy.
where can i find this program i searched and found an official website but it said the beta was down.
Look herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=635849&highlight=Swype

This is from the post above. It is a black version i currently have on my phone. Its very nice.
I'm running stock 2.3.3 and I'm still on the old market software (2.3.4). Will my handset update to the new market automatically? Are there any benefits to the new market besides the improve GUI? (I'm desperately hoping the search is improved!)
As much I'd like the fancy new look of the new market, I'm wary of updating due to the new auto-update feature in case my phone has a dodgy eMMC. Is there anyway to disable the auto-update feature before it gets chance to start?
Please note, the new market is very very slow...
Not much of an upgrade apart from the visual changes

The earlier versions of the new market were slow, eg 3.1.5, but the new one is much better, i.e. 3.3.11
Plus, the new version prevents simultaneous installs and crashes, with apps being installed sequentially. I've been flashing new ROMs with the new market, and my apps all reinstall automatically, i've never faced a hangup yet!
Plus, the new market gives you a one-click abort to stop installation of all apps in one go... unlike the old one where you had to cancel each app one by one... Also, there is the option to only update when on wifi. Saves mobile data package and if you have that option checked, and you're not on wifi, your apps wont update at all!!
I would definitely recommend the new market.
The good news is that the new version had a setting to disable auto updates.
The bad news is that Oli is right. For the sake of a fancy UI, it's slower, laggy, and will frequently tell you updates are available for apps when in fact they are not. The latest version 3.3.11 is slightly better than previous efforts, but i still have to abort updates, clear data, and get false update notifications.
If you are on stock and not rooted, google will be pushing this polished turd onto your phone soon.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that wnp
It is slightly better with the new 3.3.11 compared to 3.x.x but could still do with a speed boost!
Market 3.2.0 was just released a few days ago! Wonder what changes it brings!
@enigmaamit wow never knew that! So are you saying that it could be safe to hit auto update on all apps, as it does it one by one? No more chance of a fried Emmc chip?

Yup, i've updated around 15 apps at one go, and the install occurs sequentially instead of simultaneously.
No issues so far (four different ROM flashes with the new market)
The biggest issue for me with the 3.x markets is that "compatibility check" of the application with the device registered. Since there are not too many of you complaining, I presume you are not using a non-standard screen density. If you do it, market will show for many application the "application is not compatible..." message and you're not allowed to download it. 240 screen density (standard for HDPI devices) is too big for my taste, I prefer something like 200-210. In this case alot of applications designed for HDPI cannot be installed (Skype for ex is one of them, but there are many).
Adding this on top of the slowness of the new market, makes me using the "old" 2.3.6 version which is perfect. Unfortunately this version was giving FCs with the ICS ROM I've tested (the alpha from superkid) so I am wondering if it will work at all on ICS or I should be forced to upgrade to the latest market (which is something I don't want).
If somebody finds out a way to bypass this compatibility check, please share, it is very annoying
Thanks for your input guys. I think I'm going to wait until the new market is pushed to my phone. Hopefully by then some more of the bugs might have been worked out. I'm in no rush.
Hi XDA Devs,
I know Avaite launcher has been now discontinued but I was one of the beta users of the app back then and this news of Avaite being discontinued now has brought back the memories of the first initial concept of "spaces" which made it very unique. I was trying to figure out a way if it was possible to revert back to the older version. Since the time Avaite was acquired by Yahoo, they ruined it by removing a lot of features that had made it successful.
I found the older apks but by simply installing them , it is not working. The app either refuses to start or the "Nearby" page is empty. I would be grateful if someone could help me out figure out how to use the older versions of the app. I am sure many of the Avaite fans out there would love to have it back too.
THANKS
