Hi All,
I have a dlink with mixex mode setup (g/n) an my Nexus always connect using G mode. Is there a way to force the phone to use N protocol instead? I need to mix cause my laptop has a G wicard.
Thanks in advance

samsung GT-I5801 rooted but wifi ad-hoc not connecting
I also have the same problem. The samsung GT-i5801 mobile is unbranded and bought in india.
I have rooted it using z4root
But, it is not able to detect any wifi ad-hoc connection from both ubuntu and windows xp.
I installed wifi-tethering app "Wireless-tether", but no luck.
also, configuring static ip (192.168.0.2, 255.255.255.0) did not help.

your phone or the mobile operator you use doesn't support 3G... try a 3G Sim card.. if it doesn't show then your phone doesn't have the 3G Radio built in it...
its has 3g
sir my network is 3g enabled and i think if there is no builtin radio in phone then there would be no network mode as u can see there is network mode but its disabled
its has 3g

sir i have 3g network sim and i am sure it has 3g builtin radio if it doesnt then there must be no network mode but there is network mode
only its disable might be because of jellybean 4.2.2?
It seems your phone doesn't have 3G modem

The problem is not because of 4.2.2 , your phone doesnt have 3G Radio, i have used videocon A24 it has network mode disabled as like as yours.. but it doesnt have a 3G Radio.. If you think that your phone have 3G Radio then contact the customer care...
its tdcdma

my 3G doesn't work on 4.3 or 4.4.2. But I have another phone (sony) with 4.0.4 and my 3G works.
Have you try to copy your APN from your sony to your moto ?

yes i did, but to no avail.
I am suspecting Moto G is a 4G phone, but my SIM is still on older 3G network.
There's really nothing in common between Moto G and Sony devices, so the problem isn't due to the OS, but your phone it seems. Did you try to interfere with the kernel, the Rom or something like that?

I can't solve your problem, but if I was in your shoes I'd first try your carrier and I'd have a look at modems.
If you have your phone in wcdma auto or preferred, and your 3g service is weak it will stick to 2g.
Try *#*#4636#*#* and toying with different modes.
Btw, whats's your phone version? Country? Carrier?
Here i am, using a sony phone that runs 4.2/4.4
using 3g works perfectly, even H+ appears
on a serious note, get your sim checked, and also, did you cut the sim yourself or something?

OTA updates can't be installed without WiFi connection unless you manually download the firmware and flash it yourself, but seeing that you are a new member, that might be a bit tricky and you might end up messing up with your phone.
So i would recommend you to either find a WiFi connection or create a portable WiFi hotspot using your Laptop or another android phone.
