[REQ] Desire HD HTC Mail APK that works on regular EVO ROM - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

Is there a version of the Desire HD HTC mail apk that will work on normal EVO ROMs? I really want the integrated mail accounts viewing capabilities of the Desire HD's version, but want to retain 4G, HDMI, etc. that the regular EVO ROMaffords.
Any input?
Thanks in advance,
Ceger

I'd like to hear about this too.
+1 BUMP.

I have the mail APK from the EPIC 4G, it allows multiple exchange accounts and doesn't enforce Exchange security policy. PM me if you are interested.

Can you hook me p with the mail apk from the epic and explain how you pushed it to the phone

[APP PORT REQUEST] HTC Mail Client (Desire)

Is it possible to install the HTC Mail client (from HTC Desire) on the Nexus 1? I've grown used to the 2.1 interface and not interested in running Sense UI. However, I would like to have the HTC Mail client since it comes with full Exchange support (mail, contacts, calendar). I know it is not as easy as pushing the APK - I already tried that and got the Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY]. Any ideas on whether running this app (with libraries) on the Nexus 1 is possible?
N1 already does exchange mail and contacts. just install motocal and motogal for exchange calendar and global address list.

Mail client in N1 does not seem to fully support mail2web exchange, and the client is VERY limited. I had to purchase Touchdown.
Yeah, the HTC Mail client depends on HTC's frameworks, which means you have to run a full HTC ROM to get it. you can, however, push the default 2.1 Launcher2.apk into a Desire ROM, for that stock feel with HTC goodies. (well, you should be able to. I haven't tried it, but see no reason why it wouldn't work). And if you want to go even farther, you could probably push Browser.apk, Calendar.apk, maybe even Settings.apk... and a bunch of others to make it look and feel stock, but keep some HTC goodies. And I'm sure there's a morph out there that will change the statusbar back to light color.
You dont need to push anything the launcher is there... Go to settings programs and disable dfaults for htc sense and bam u have default launcher.

I am running CorGAL and MotoCAL right now. The 2 features I am missing is the ability to look up corporate addresses from within the native email application, and have a automatic signature applied. We have 5,000 employees and although I don't email each of them routinely - I just don't want to have to look them up individually each time - nor do I want to download their email to my address book. I know Touchdown can do all of this, but I think their implementation is horrible. HTC Mail client is a nice piece of work and that is what I would like to use.
try k9mail
Very cool app with search and folders the 2.510 is awsome but i recomend to fully understand the folders class thing
Very stable and cool with attachements (my first concern )
i tried to pull the motogal.apk from the droidx froyo rom and push it in, but i dont see it in list of programs, do we need to port it to froyo? or am i doing something incorrectly? i use android commander to do this?

HTC Sync.apk from 2.2 Desire to Incredible?

Is it possible to get the newly updated 2.2 ROM from Desire, pull HTC Sync from it and port it to the Incredible to update the one on it?
Reason being, the new HTC Sync (Phone client not the PC client) enables the syncing abilities added in HTC Sync 3.0 (PC Client)
Droid Incredible works with the 3.0 software but it doesn't "talk" to the phone's client to "sync" it can only send data rather than send/receive (if you get my meaning)
HTC Sync 3.0 enables iTunes Sync/Windows Media Sync, Calendar, Outlook/Outlook Express sync, Photos/Videos sync, and a few others.
**Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum**
Edit: According to the phone, the version of HTC Sync on the phone is 0.8
ITunes sync? Sweet.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
If someone has the ROM somewhere, I'll dig into it and give it a shot. I missed the download link posted somewhere else and it got pulled.
Better yet, can anyone port that ROM over to our device?

That might take a while since Desire uses GSM and has slightly different hardware, but i could be wrong

[Q] Android in Corporate Environment

I was able to get a Droid Incredible out of my place of work to use for business. I am an IT guy and am looking for some specific things.
1st Exchange support. I have flashed my incredible to cm6 to get rid of sense because I like vanilla android better. This however brings the problem of losing my GAL support through the Sense email/people apps. Is there any app out there that will get this back? I have found Touchdown, and its ok, but I really dislike the fact that I have to input a pin after 5 minutes of not being in e-mail, and it doesnt really integrate itself into android. I was able to find hacked mail apks for both stock android and the email sense app. But with the stock mail app I still lose out on the GAL. And the sense email app is... ugly. Also is it possible to setup a shared mailbox like I can do in outlook? I have an iPhone 4 as my personal phone and its just much better as far as exchange support goes. Any suggestions here would be great.
Second is setting up VPN to work with cisco ipsec protocol. I cant seem to find out how to set this up, though I have read it requires rooting, which I have done.
Thanks for your input.

[Q] Integrated facebook and twitter tab

I understand that someone has developed a facebook tab for the HTC Sense, and it already has a built in twitter tab. I was wondering if there is a way that we can integrate the two together (kinda like the friendstream on HTC wildfire)
that would be awesome. i think friendstream is exclusive to HTC Android phones though, works on Android builds running of the SD card on HD nicely.

[Q] Install default 2.3.3 Android Email App?

Ok my Desire S is up and running now but one thing I'm having an issue with is connecting to my work email. It looks as though the included HTC email app isn't compatible with our exchange server so I was wondering if it's possible to install the default Gingerbread email app (as I hear this works very well with exchange now).
Is this possible to do on a S-on Desire S? I've had some joy with K-9 email but I'd prefer to use the Android default app if possible.

Let me know how u get on.

Just installed it on my Desire S, it installs fine but having problems conecting to server, you do get manual options so it could be me doing something wrong.
Will keep trying and post back if sucsesful
HTC email works fine with my exchange work email.
Got it working, bit of an odd one, it required me to change my password at work before it would connect. Not sure if something was wrong on works' side or if the Android mail app doesn't like certain chars in passwords? Odd either way.
