I always wondered why Android couldn't offer a rapid screen rotation animation when the phone switches to portrait/landscape.
If it's done right, while the movement is done (not after), it wouldn't be a waste of time at all and would look nicer that what we have now...
Can someone clarify this ?
MOD : please add a "t" in "Roation" in the title. Sorry for that !
I haven't tried it, but you be able to attach an animation to the root layout element to be called from onDestory() prior to super.onDestory()

Hi everybody,
I want to create a animated bootup screen.
since im pretty high skilled in adobe flash pro i wanted to make a nice
bootup animation together with a relaxing sound
i know i got to use a .WAV file for the sound, i think i'll be able to add that
into my booting screen.
but my question is :
what size does it need to be ...x... ?
what format do i have to use so it will actually work ( will be neat after alot of work )
i know it is possible, i did try to search for a ''how-to'' but couldn't find one.
let me know
bye's
alex
Size is 800x480, format is animated GIF.
Use Schapman's Advanced Config to change the startup sound and animation
thank you very much!
i will post some animated boot-up screens.
any requests?
p.s.
what is the time limit, not that i whas thinking of a boot screen
that's taking forever, but just incase

Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible "to loop" the weather animation on the homepage of the HTC HD2. I like it very much and I'd like to see the animation all the time that I see the home.
Thanks in advance.
Must I modify some value in register system?
That's a good question!! Must be possible via the reg - but I cannot find it!!
Thanks.
Anyone know how it can be made?

I reckon it will mean an edit of the files that are the animated weather, but I can't find them. I had a pretty good look round and just couldn't find them anywhere (obvious).
It's gotta be doable, but you've gotta bear in mind that the animation fades in, so a loop may look pretty bad. (Imagine you've got a load of snow falling over your screen and then it just disappears and starts to fade in again, not to mention the sliding of the corner images in snow!)
It's gonna take someone knowing where the files are stored and knowing how to edit them well to make this work. It may simply be too much to ask with the current animations.
I hope not, cos I'd love constant snow on my home page at the minute. It looks great for the few seconds that it does work!
I'm pretty sure what you want will result in huge energy draw and battery will die too fast.
Hi,
This is getting rather annoying. Everytime I switch the phone on (from standby), the clock sets one hour behind then animates to the correct time after 2-3 seconds of animation. It was quite cool to look at initially but now when I want a quick glance at time, I have to make sure I wait for the animation to finish to get the correct time.
Any way to reduce or eliminate the animation? I am using Juicy R10 on Sprint.
Thanks
unzip and copy the attached file to windows directory
Rhodium,
A little description of what it does?
it is a manilla file to stop the clock flipping on sense roms
read here:

Any word on whether this works on stock VZW 6.5 ROM?
The last time I tried this, it changed the password on the phone and I had to hard reset.
thanks all for the link and the attachment. Fixed my problems.
Thanks
I spent some time building this Diamond 2 custom animation and I hope you like it. Just install the cab (it installs automatically into the internal memory) and perform a reboot... than enjoy the new look of your booting sequence.
Please report here if the animation flows to fast or too slow, if needed I will readapt the speed. The animated gif attached in this post is faster than the actual gif contained in the cab file.
Works perfectly looks a lot better than the original.
RESPECT!!!!!!
Nice
Thanks mate
Can be it uninstalled if you want?
Remove..
Yes, just remove the CAB file in Add/Remove Programs list and soft-reset..
Works fine and looks great! Thanks
does this animation do the actual testing of the boot parameters or just dummy?
Well, it's just dummy Windows Mobile doesn't have a real-time bootloader with dynamic text displaying. This is just an animation to make the impression of a bios bootloader. However, the text content corresponds with Diamond2 hardware, to make the animation somehow more credible.
Absolutely amazing.
Congratulations Optyqus!
thanks, it works, and also in diamond1
I made also some animation, next time i'll try make better one
BTW What is max of size of image?
EDIT: If anyone can tell me the animation it works, because temporary I do not have a phone.
Reverse the animation

alien44: when i saw that image of yours, something cross my mind:
It's wonderful... but what if you reverse the animation... like a great amount of small pieces joining to form the words?
Just an ideia

Hello, I do appreciate your topaz/leo startup BIOS-style... any chance you'd make one for TD2 older brother, that is Diamond (DIAM100)?

Not to step on any toes but....
Hope this helps.
**Edit** I had a registry error in this file so it may not have worked. I have uploaded the fixed version.
That file is the reversed animation with auto installer, right?
Thanks Bruce.. you are always there...

Yes Sir...
Should work but I didn't test.
I did notice the implosion animation is significantly larger than the Bios animation.

There are some Registry keys that control that:
HTC ANIMATION:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation :
StartupGif - \Windows\animated.gif
StartupWav - \Windows\***.wav
SPLASH SCREEN:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Splash Screen :
CarriereBitmap - \windows\welcomehead**.png
MSBitmap - \windows\welcomehead**.png
Go to your Registry, check if this ones are the ones you have. If so, check the filenames and path.
There you have the files and path used by your phone. Copy the new files to the path with the same name (Overwrite) or change the registry setting to new files. Get it?

Hello Devs,
To begin with I have HTC One V (using shpongle 4.2.2 rom) whose bottom ~50px (full width) are not working properly and to make it worse, somehow the rotation sensor is not working. So, I would like to restrict the display from original resolution 480x800 to say 480x750. I tried using apps like "Resolution NoMone" but many applications are crashing with that and it vertically centers the screen wasting 25px at the top.
Would modifying any system properties manually help me achieve what I want?
A simple grep shows /system/build.prop has "ro.device.screen_res=480x800". I tried changing this to 480x750 (taking ideas from this post) but it didn't work
I would really appreciate any help in this.

Just so I'm clear on what you're actually trying to do, are you actually trying to just change your dpi? Or who suggested it to be a wise idea to try and change your resolution?
Keep in mind tinkering with your build.prop can be dangerous if you are not certain of what you're doing.

No I am not changing DPI. Keeping DPI same, I want to discard the bottom 50px of my screen and make the system behave as if the screen is of size 480x750px. Well I have passed through the phase of screwing up my mobile and recovering it (thanks to XDA) and I am willing to take all risks to fix this. Worst case I will need to flash the rom again and thats welcomed
OK well all I can suggest is you post your question here and wait for someone to give support
