How can I know what stock version I am using?
Go to Settings -- About Tablet, then check the TnT version. 3389 is the last "official" version out there, with a possible 3452 UAT floating around right now.

I upgraded my GTablet with a "leaked" version of the new software upgrade but now I want to update to the "official" version. Unfortunately my device won't recognize that there is an update available even when I run the updates app to look for one.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
I hear VS may be making a recovery image available for those who have modded their GTab's beyond repair...but in the meantime, I'm curious how others are addressing this issue.
If the leaked version was the 3389 update then that is the official version. Otherwise I believe their official website has the 3389 update.
This is a link to the 3389 update that Roebeet posted

I had been unable to get OTA updates since Nov 19. I read on another thread how a user downloaded the 3053 update manually and then his OTA started working again. So I gave it a try and sure enough it fixed my problem. In fact I have gone back to this version twice just to reset my G-Tab to stock. I have not mod'd my unit. I have flash, market and Rothnic enhancement pack.
Hope this helps
Roebeet listed all of the official TNT downloads here.

*rothnic has a new enhancement pack v2 that will not erase your stock files. It will increase the speed a little bit..
I am a G2 Newbie
I flashed TNTLiite 2.0.0
The update zip file was dated 11/22/10
My settings now show the following:
Tap UI Version 1.01-2967
Kernel 2.6.32.9-00000-10.8.2- dirty
Build Number FRF91
Is all this correct?
I already got the market working and gmail.
Why didn't u load up tnt 3.x.x?
This is all new to me, but you did not answer my question. I did load 2.0 I believe but settings don't say that
I don't know exactly when Roebeet added the TnT Lite version to the build, but I thought it was prior to TnT Lite 2.0. Looks to me like you have the stock rom from the 11/22 OTA update that ViewSonic provided.
But I no longer have the original Interface with the weather that came up when I first turned it on. How do I move up to the newer version of the TNT?
Go to the Development topic in this forum. There is a helpful guide (posting) on how to install ClockworkMod, TnT Lite 2.2, Flash, and Market Fix. Although, I suggest you start with TnT Lite 3.1 (as a base), then install the 3.1.3 supplement (service pack) release.
Just got a Gtab and I am going to mod w/ VEGAn 5. Just need to know if I need to install VEGAn 1.0 b1 first and go through the builds to b5? I know i need ClockWorks first correct?
Just get the newest beta 5 and it should be fine. You don't need to install them over the top of each other, if thats what you are asking. Thats all I did when I tried out vegan. I already had clockwork 0.8 installed.
The newest had flash working and the market already showed most programs. I didn't have to do those extra steps like in some of the earlier directions.

Nope, go directly to 5.1b and install through CWM 0.8.
Moved to general
Thanks, that was quick. Going to jump in and load VEGAn 5.1 tonight. Can't wait and start modding this thing.
Hello all,
Sorry for the silly question but I am trying to find out my stock build level in my G-tab. Have noticed all the warnings about the build level but don't know how to find the stock build.
In my Settings, About Tablet, Tap UI Version only reads my Rom version, TnT Lite v4.2.4.
I like the new look of the TNT Lite 5.0. but need to confirm that I have 3588 before I make any changes.
Thanks in advance.
bevbeng,
Honestly, if you have not reached the point in the learning curve where you can find and understand the "build level" yet, you may want to hold off a while. Somehow you
have gotten to TNT Lite, but.....
I have 5.0.0 on one of my tablets and it is nice, but it was a challenge to install. I wouldn't recommend trying it until you thoroughly understand all aspects of flashing and nvflashing so as to not wind up with a problem you can't solve.
BTW, you are running TNT Lite. That is not stock -- it is a custom ROM. To get back to 3588 you are going to have to find the 3588 stock rom, download and install it. Once you have done that, then you can look at 5.0.0 when you are ready.

Thanks. However, it still doesn't help me to find the factory build level in my tablet.
Maybe I don't understand, but I thought you were looking for "Build Level" in the context of whether your tablet is ready to flash 5.0.0.
If that's what you mean, you need to have the 3588 update loaded as you noted.
Your tablet is not now compatible because TNT Lite is not "stock" software. It is a custom ROM.
To get to a "stock" machine that meets the prerequisites for 5.0.0 -- you will have to download a copy of the 3588 upgrade. It can be found in these forums with a quick search. Then you will have to do a standard install/flash.
Once the 3588 is installed, it will have removed the TNT Lite you now have -- and the correct rom and recovery files should be there.
Again, I hope this helps.

P. S. -- I have never heard of "Build Level" as being something you can find in the various screens in the tablet. There is a "Build number" on the "Settings" screen for "About tablet" but I've never seen it say anything except "FRF91" and I'm not even sure what that means!

TnT Lite 4.2.4 is a custom rom modified from a ViewSonic Tap-n-Tap stock rom. You will not find the ViewSonic stock information directly by going to the About Tablet section in Settings. You need to follow the thread to know what has been done. Even though TnT Lite 4.2.4 was modified from the 3588/3589 stock rom from ViewSonic, you need to reflash your Gtab to 3588 stock before you reflash it to TnT Lite 5.0.0. ViewSonic made major changes to the boot.img. If you follow these steps to the letter (refer to the link below), TnT Lite 5.0.0 will install successfully. As a caution, many folks had to nvflash do to issues during the install. Be prepared for that situation.

Revolver's latest ROM includes the update. You may need to grab Revolver Parts from the market to get it if you don't already have it. The latest dock firmware version is EP101-0213 under settings, about tablet, at the bottom.
