I really like the look of this clock but despite appearing to download successfully onto my HTC Desire running Android 2 it simply refuses to function. After dowload I am asked if I want to install it and I say yes, but when it has finished installing, the 'Open' button is greyed out and I am only left with the 'Done' button which doesn't launch the app. The app doesn't show up on the screen either on the 'All Apps' screen, but it does appear in the list when I go to settings and select 'manage apps'. Any ideas anyone?

Hi,
yesterday evening I've found a new problem: when I close any apps using the "X" button in the right top, the Diamond freeze and I must reset it, instead if I can close the apps using the Exit voice from the internal menu, the app close correctly.
I've got the same problem if I try to open the application management menu that appears only in the home (with the list of open apps and the 3 icons). I click on the "little arrow" in the right top and the Diamond freeze.
If I go to Start -> Settings -> System and then i click "Managed Programs" the Diamond reset.
I think is a problem of Windows Mobile.
Anyone had the same problem?
Thanx
I installed Launcher Pro and as expected, whenever I hit the home key, a dialogue box pops up and asks me "Complete action using". My choices are LaucherPro and TwLauncher.
I would like to select LauncherPro and set that action by default, but lets say I want to go back to using the default launcher. How do I reset that default setting?
Did a search, couldn't find anything, must be too simple for most...
This has actually been brought up a number of times, so I have a hard time imagining you searched much.
Either simply install "Home Switcher" from the market place or go to Settings--->Applications--->Manage Applications--->Launcher Pro and click "Clear Defaults"
This is how you would do it in just about every android phone, but since you're running the Vibrant according to your signature, if the exact actions aren't the same, find the way to get to "Manage Applications" and go from there
Okay I've searched and searched some more but I can't remember/find what thread I saw this in but it basically goes like this...
Use the search mode on the phone and type in "Dock Mode" and this will find the hidden desktop dock mode that is installed on our phones. Then there is an app that can create an icon for that.
1. What thread was this?
2. What is the name of that app? As I'd like to do is make a icon/shortcut to that program.
3. If you're gonna flame me for "this has been asked x many times already" or some other crap like that, please don't bother posting I don't want to deal with you either.
Thanks in advance.
Not sure about creating an icon, but if you go into your Sensation customization and select "Lock Screen" you can edit which programs are quick-launched by clicking on the "Settings" button at the bottom. You can select Dock Mode from there (I've got it on my lock screen.)

That's not what I'm looking for but many thanks for that tid-bit! Why will dock mode show there in "apps" but not actually show in the apps when placing it as an icon?
Go into the app tray, long hold the dock mode app and put it on your homescreen...

Please forgive me if this sounds foolish but when you say "app tray" do you mean the app grid icon just left of the phone button on the screen?
If you do, I've already tried that but there is no "dock mode" icon in my apps list. The only way I've found it before is by using the search button (magnifying glass - lower right corner on the phone) and manually searching for it.
I should note that I'm a T-Mobile USA user.
I got it under the search function.
I did the search with the capacitive search button and now the dock mode is there for me to click on.
it remains there so...
works out better for me cause I don't want desk dock mode icon on my home screen.
still odd why HTC didn't include the icon for it.
OMGWAFR! Derrr, derrr, derrrr...drool...
No wonder I can't find that topic here, I never read that here! I read it over at the T-Mobile forums. Sorry fellas, my bad!
But to top it off TMo has changed up their forums so you wouldn't even be able to find it there now but a quick google search/cache has the topic I was talking about:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...d=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&source=www.google.com
And low and behold "Mainspring" posted in there too!
................
So I found the "app" I was looking for and its called "ANY CUT". Very simple to use and will let you create a shortcut for anything.
Nice got my car home icon on there now too so I don't have to use a dock to switch it!

So I've done the OTA update and it removed my Dock Mode from the lock screen. I went to set it again but when I go to Personalize > Lock Screen > Settings > Choose an app to assign to the shortcut - Its not there any longer.
I still have the icon on my phone thanks to Any Cut but now I can't figure out how to get it back onto my lock screen.
Any ideas?
only thing that catches my eye from the kitkat launcher is the google search bar on screen (SAY OK GOOGLE) will that be later implemented into a zip for other launchers? i can always just click on the mic but saying that makes me a cool alley cat .
how come some nexus files/zips are able to be flash or install into our verizon gs3 without messing nothing up? time to time i check out there theme sections but dont wanna flash anything cuz im afraid it might brick my fone since its not a d2vzw file .
Chances are you won't see OK Google coming to other launchers from what I've read. Apparently Google made that and the Google now screen you can swipe to proprietary code.
As to the other, it really just depends. If it's just an app or theme you'd see mixed results. Just make sure you're making backups. If it's a rom or kernel or something, stay away.

You can have that same launcher, it is called the Google Experience Launcher, and is located Here. You no longer need the Google Search App from that page, as long as the Google Search App on your device is up to date. You also have the option of a modified version in the Play Store called KitKat Launcher+, HERE
When I install the GEL on stock 4.1.2, after pressing the home button, I was given the option to select what launcher I used. For some reason when I installed it on stock 4.3, I was not given that option, and had to go into the application manager to fix it.
Press the menu key, and select "Settings"
Press "Application Manager"
Slide over to the "All" tab
Scroll down to "TouchWiz Home"
Select "Clear defaults" under the "Launch by default heading"
Now when you press the home key, you will be given the option to select what launcher you want to use
When you first get into the launcher, you will notice that the microphone in the search bar is hollow, this means that the "Ok Google" function is not currently working. To get this to work, you need to
Press the menu key
You will see three options on the bottom of the screen "WALLPAPERS" "WIDGETS" "SETTINGS"
Select the "SETTINGS" tab
Select the "Voice" menu
Select the "Offline speech recognition"
Select the "ALL" tab
Press the English (US)
Press "OK"
Select the "AUTO-UPDATE" tab
I selected the second option, because I am never on Wi-Fi, you can leave it on Wi-Fi only if you are always on it
Select the "INSTALLED" tab
Press "English (US)
Press "Download"
When it is done downloading, the microphone in the search bar should be filled in, and you can now say "OK Google" to activate it.
As for your other question, it all depends on what the files are. If it is a system or framework file it most likely can't be flashed, someone might be able to port it over to work.

I don't want the kitkat launcher i jst want the kitkat search bar. I have the launcher but dislike it. Im a nova launcher user
So I turned my Pixel on and the Home screen shows a brown box with the words "Tap to setup" and a Gmail icon. I don't know what I did to get that. I checked my settings but did not find a way to get rid of it. How can I do it?
In trying to resolve my problem I opened Apps, tapped Gmail, and found "Open", "Disable", and "Force stop".
When I tapped "Disable" I got a warning that Android and other functions may no longer function as intended, so I tapped "Cancel" and backed out of that option.
Next, I tapped "Force stop" and got a warning that the app may misbehave, so I tapped "Cancel".
Then I tried "Passwords & accounts", tapped my google account address, but all that had was a "Remove account" button so I backed out of that.
If I long-tap the message on my Home screen, a "Remove" button appears at the top of my screen but if I tap that, nothing happens and the message remains on the Home screen.
So I fiddled with the message box, swiping it to the right/left/up/down and finally, after 3 or 4 swipes to the right, the message disappeared. When I turn the phone off and back on again, the message does not reappear, so I think that the problem is resolved.
I think.....
Only other think I could think would be remove and re-add the account, but hopefully it is fixed.
maybe try to clear your launcher app data.
Just as a matter of curiosity, how does one clear one's launcher app data?

Hi,
Go in Settings > Apps > and look for the launcher app.
Force stop it and go in "Storage & cache"
Click: Clear storage > done.
You may click on the 3 dot menu on you upper right corner and tap on "Show system" if your launcher is installed as a system app...
Good luck,
Sébastien.
Okay, I followed your instructions.
After I tapped "Clear storage", I tapped the center arrow on the bottom of the screen to get back to my Home screen. My 4 shortcuts (that were at the top of the screen) were no longer there, and the bottom row of apps "bounced" up and down every 2 seconds for around 10 seconds and then stopped bouncing. This happened each time I went back to the Home screen.
After a few minutes of fiddling around with the cellphone, the bouncing stopped when I went back to the Home screen and so far it has not returned.
Why did the bottom row of apps bounce up and down?
