There is no CTRL key on my TP2 Verizon Version. Please tell me a way to select multiple files in file explorer
what version of windows are you running? on 6.1 if you change the on screen keyboard to the old school windows one there is a control key. as for 6.5 that I upgraded to, that keyboard is no longer an option so I dont know what to do. cant seem to program one on the keyboard with the rhodium keyboard controller
I am on WM6.5 and I can't figure out any way to multiselect files. I did have this option on 6.1 though and i searched the forums as well but didnt find anything thats why i posted a new topic
use something like total commander to select multiple files
Resco Explorer my friend, default explorer doent have this option

Is there any way to fix copy/paste in xBar because it is not working with WM6?
I've tried VITO CopyPaste with VITO TaskSwitcher but it is not so functional and easy to use as xBar.
I've also tried SmartToolKit but I don't find very useful that XP look-like interface.
I can't imagine using WM without xBar
some times ago, in WM2003 era i'm use Xbar on my Typhoon with speical programms for copy-cut-paste (it can copy not only text, but it can copy files too)
i'll try to search that on my harddisk and check its work on my vox
later i'll tell about experiment

good news - it works fine!
CopyPaste is a small utilty for XBar to use copy/paste in wm2003 / wm5 smartphones with Paragon russian T9 installed
and it works with out Vox too!
readme.txt in russian, so i translate it
you must copy files from archive to program files\xbar\start (or xbar3\start or something else)
CopyAll - copy all text from edit window to clipboard
CopyLine - copy only current line to clipboard
Paste - insert from clipboard
Shift - select your text (with left-right buttons) and copy (left softkey) or cut (right softkey) it in clipboard. This is doesnt work in ProfiMail
Shift1 - same as Shift, but you can only copy text (up button). This is work in ProfiMail
You can copy to your smart all of those applications or select only applications that your need
It is not working with my vox with ARA rom.

the message has to be editable to be able to be copied. Which is not the case when reading an incoming sms.
Here is a workaround, you can forward the msg and then copy its content while it is edited. Pretty dumb solution I know but I think it is a windows mobile limitation and these copy/paste programs can do nothing about it.
I'd personally like being able to copy/paste text while browsing the net on the phone.

now this is strange. You don't have any other copy/paste program installed that could interfer ?
Maybe it has troubles with cyrillic alphabet ?
If we can't find the reason of your problem you should contact the program's author..

What are you useing for task manager and copy/paste?
xBars "select" (shift) is working but copy paste it is not working, the author promise on their forum to make a new version of xBar in wich will be fixed copy/paste in wm6 but it seems that author it is not working any more.
VITO copy/paste is working in wm6 but the problem is that it is mapped on the same center button as xBar.
How to remap that button?
I don't really know I use neither.
I use smarttoolkit for both. I've assigned a key to its task function (center button too) and a key for its clipboard function. I love it. I've also disabled the animations on smarttoolkit menus. It's better when constantly switching app.
What version of smarttoolkit you are useing?
I've installed "RC09-CORE1 Released" but it is VERY buggy, very often got my phone stucked and the only solution is to get the baterry out.
The same, but I seem to be one of those lucky people that don't have so much bugs using smarttoolkit. Strangely it seems to be not even rom dependent because many user of my rom report the same problems whereas I only get a smarttoolkit lockup every two days or so. I can live with it.
Finally I've got the clue, just install the SmartToolkit 1.0.0.RC08 version (not the RC08D) and all the stability problems are gone, no more bugs like with the last RC09 version!

OK, I understand the registry settings needed to add applets to the settings pages for HTC applications. You create two registry keys and increment the 'TotalApplets' registry value to include enough for all the 'applet extensions'. I have backward engineered some existing ones to see this. Now I am trying to add another application without just creating a physical shortcut file. I have created an OEM package that has the following .rgu file:

I have then built my ROM and the Icon doesn't appear on the Settings, System page. The application is there as I can use file manager to browse to it and then execute it. I have verified that all the registry settings are there, however the Icon is not displayed. I know I could simply create a physical shortcut and put it in Start Menu\Settings, however I would prefer to get it working this way, and it's bugging me now...
Any takers?
Oh, its the 'sms.exe' application from ce4arab.com that allows you to change the WM 6.1 threaded SMS view settings.

i dont know if you found the solution or not..but did u change the " Total Applets " also..because if u didnt..it would'nt read any other added Entries

I did solve it, however it is a bit of a weird one.... The SMS.exe application I was trying didn't have an Icon embedded in the file so when viewed in Explorer (on a PC or on the Wizard) it just looked like a regular .exe file. I simply swapped the file for another Threaded SMS enabler/disable someone else posted and it all worked.
I am not 100% sure it was just the fact the file didn't have an Icon, however that is all I can put it down to.
I have other issues now though; I can't get .NetCF 2.0 to work in my re-cooked 5.2.19588 ROM The Threaded SMS app is a .Net application so it's there and looks pretty, however it doesn't run.........

Hello I was browsing the forums to find the remote desktop application which comes with windows mobile 6.1 since it was not included in my brand new HTC Touch Pro (don't know why HTC decided to remove it in the first place) and I found a cab file in one of the threads. However when I installed the application is listed as "wpctsc" in the programs menu.
Is there a way to rename it (probably through registry) intro something that makes a little more sense?
I don`t know if it works with regular File Explorer, but Total Commander allows you to go in the Windows > Start Menu > and there is a list of applications which you can see in Start Menu and in Programs Menu, just scroll in the application you want to rename and vòila ? Do not remove .Ink from the filename.. >_>

You will have to copy it to your PC as a text file, edit it and put it back.
their is no dyncompdict.dat file in windows.

That was then, this is now...........
Apparently from WM 6.0 onwards it is now stored in compimeh.NNNN.dat in the \Windows directory, where NNNN is a language code page 0409 is US English. If you guys are running 6.0 onwards, that's why you don't see the files mentioned above.
Here's the bad news. The file is in some binary format, so a text editor is useless. All you can do is clear it from Control Panel -> Input -> Word Completion(Tab) and hit the "Clear Stored Entries" Button.

yes im using wm6.1 which mean i cannot access the the said file.
is there any other way access the file?or 3rd party software that i can convert so i can edit my stored word? or make my own dictionary so that input my favorite words or whatever?

Apparently there is a program in the windows directory of HTC Touch and Touch HD devices called et9mywords.exe, that can edit it.
You will have to use "Show all files" to find in File Explorer.
Can't be of any more help here, I've currently got a MWg Zinc II, which doesn't have it.

Is there anyway that i can select multiple sequential or random files, of course using the File Explorer
My HTC Touch2 does not have a keyboard with the ctrl key
And i know i can use a 3rd party software but is selecting multiple files really thrown out of a newer version of WinMo?? :S

Search for a cab called total commander & install. u will see ctr botton at the bottom just click search botton on top you should find plenty here...

My question is why Microsoft dumped a VERY VERY important feature in its File Explorer in a NEWER version of it's mobile operating system :S

They havent dumped it just that you have to do it a different way now.
If ur in text messaging for example, click menu, options then select all/several then do what you want. Same kinda thing applies to file exp, email etc.
Remember 6.5 is supposed to be more finger friendly hence selecting this way avoids slips of the finger lol.
You'll get used to it
