Hi,
Nowadays most people have internet flatrates even for their mobile phones.
But what about people who don´t have internet flatrates? Thats why I start this topic.....
Bump (or Hoccer) is a nice app to easily share your contact ,!!APPS!!, what so ever....
The bad thing: both need internet connection....
[Q]: Why do they need internet connection? Is it because apps are not really pushed to the other phone? Instead the other phone got the link to the app in the market?
[Q] Applications like ES Explorer are able to package apps back to apk... the could be transfered. It is my current workaround, but it is not that simple it might be - and should be.
I searched for an app with my requirements... and didn´t found one.
An app that can transfer easily whatever you want! (apps musik, whatever an file explorer could find) of course it should have some standard functions like transfer contacts..... and apps!
So other questions are:
- How difficult would it be to programm such an app? Any good tutorials out there?
- A friend of mine built an app with google´s "lego system" and also established with it a blutooth connection. It is not that difficult and google did a great job with the API
- If noone wants to program such an app, I would try it. Im not an expert, no experience with android at all. But Im willing to learn....
- What the "best" developer environment? Eclipse? Any recommended tools?
Many questions... I hope we all could help each other?

I am an amatuer with xda, as well as my pocket pc (I have the htc fuze{touch pro for att}), however I enjoy both and am learning more and more all the time about both. However I have not been able to find this, and was wondering if such a thing existed: a program to toggle between wi-fi and internet for other programs. You see, I don't have a data package, and don't like to pay for the internet. So I was just wondering if anyone knew of a toggle for something like that.

Works great.
Hi everyone. I've been hearing mention of some sort of Internet Sharing application or addon to the comm manager, that would allow me to turn my phone into some sort of hub. I'd like to be able to use my phone's connection with my iPod Touch, (or perhaps, other devices), so my searching is what has lead me here.
However, I don't really know what the "defacto" modification is for getting this capability. I've seen several threads already. Also, they seem to lack in documentation. They come in cab files - would that mean I can just download and install from my phone right away?
So if anyone can recommend me a wifi sharing app, (preferably for the HTC Ozone), I would be very grateful.

Auugghh. The website logged me out, so I lost my entire post
Anyhow, I'll try and re-write what I had last time:
So I'd like to use 0.9.1, since it seems to be the last free version. I downloaded it and installed it ok, but I have no idea how to use it past that. Could you possibly link me to a guide, or detail it in here?
Well, I gave in at the airport and just downloaded the trial.
Very nice. I'm so glad that I can use a browser that was a least half thought out (safari mobile) rather than that Intermet explorer. What a waste of my unlimited data plan that would have been.
Although, I'd like to be able to use that free version of WMWifi if I could. So does anyone happen to have a guide for it?
I read at somepoint that HTC may be releasing some form of a wifi sharing app for HTC smartphones. At the end of the post that I was reading, there was a cab that installed CMWifiSharing.exe to my Windows directory. However, it looked like that app was for touchphones, sine I couldn't interact with the UI in anyway.
My question is, is there any free application out there that enables wifi sharing for an HTC Ozone on Windows Mobile 6.5?
i'm not sure if any of them support non-touchscreen devices.. but you should try WMWifiRouter and ICS either way.
hope this works for you.

Already tried WMWifiRouter, worked ok, but I'd rather not pay for it if there's already a free alternative out there (or in the making). What is this ICS you speak of?
it's a simple app designed to pretty much do the same as WMWifiRouter.. but with much less options.
look for it.. it's easy to find.

Do you mean this?
I downloaded it to my phone, tried running it, and it crashed right away with an error saying "NotSupportedException at Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAr() ..."
I already have a newer Compact Framework than the one ICS requires. So what can I do?
Edit: Just looking at the screenshot for this program makes it seem it's for a completely different mobile operating system. Reading around on the Internet a bit, it seems like that error occurs when an application tries to create a button that isn't supported on the phone.
Got any other ideas?
unfortunately, no. I haven't used any other wifi sharing software other than these 3. If i were you, i'd try doing it thru winmo. create an AdHoc connection in your native WM environment and try connecting to it. You can probably find many threads concerning the creation and sharing of an AdHoc connection in the forum.
let me know if you managed to get it.

one that you can download from another device without them knowing or finding out...
Hello there.
Xperia M4 Aqua user here. My USB connection with PC is broken and im looking for alternative. ES File Explorer had a feature that lets you connect with your PC via Wi-Fi on a local FTP server (still not perfect, as it didnt let you preview media on FTP), but im done with ES since there is more junk than I can tolerate and after recent "sensitive notifications" in question, and im really only interested in a Wi-Fi connection. Note that im aware of PC Companion being able to connect via Wi-Fi, but it requires USB connection to setup it so its not an option for me anymore. I want to be able to transfer files from and to my PC, using phone.

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Try file sharing apps like Shareit. It has a desktop client too.

Hey, thanks for the info. I just checked SHAREit (is this the one?) and i dont like it already. Connection with PC requires version 3.0 or above and they dont even link to it on their official website; maybe thats just the case for Windows 7 app though, i didnt check. Also, just like ES, it has way too many things i simply dont need. And there are reports of various problems with the app, such as slow transfers and other, shady things. So id rather skip that one, unless theres no better alternative. You said I should try other apps like this, any specific ones you could recommend? I need names because i bet theres loads of junk in app store and I dont really want to install random things, hence asking on XDA for recommendations.
