Is that possible to root android tablet? - General Questions and Answers

hi,i bought a android tablet ,it is donut 1.5 system is that possible to root it,coz want to remove some default app...any one can give the solution?

my android tablet is call Efren it was the lowest android ver donut 1.5 ,u can find out the spec at here:http://www.mi-store.com.my/product-mid-mid1.html

No need to ask. If it's Android, it can be rooted. The G2 was T-Mobile's "unrootable" device, and it was rooted as soon as HTC released the kernel source. So the answer is "yes" it is possible. The real question here is "do enough hackers own it TO root it?"

ok,thanks for the answer,is there any one own a android tablet .5 with RK2808 chip with 128mb ram img files?would like to flash to others ver or 1.6 ver with the same hardware may do also~

[Q] HowTO Port Android 2.2 onto a Device that actually runs 2.1?!

Hey there... just wanna ask you geeks here how hard is to port Android 2.2 to a 2.1 Device?!
i've just ordered the new aPad or gPad (G10) today with TeleChip and Android 2.1 onto...
also have the "old" 1.5 aPad with the RockChip, but no 3D acceleration and with no official support für 2.x !!
But theres already a quit big custom rom scene there...
but i think my question is better repealed here!
how hard is it to port 2.2 ??
what does i ned ?! Source of the 2.1 ?!
thx for any Help!

don't needs to be device specific... a generall statemate is allready more than i have now!
I think the point that is trying to be made is that you have a device. It happened to have come with 2.1 on it. It's not really a 2.1 device. It's just a device with 2.1 on it. You just need a kernel and device drivers that are compatible with 2.2 and your device. That's very much a summary though.
If I had to guess, you should be able to get most things working under 2.2 with the drivers from 2.1. However, I only have 1 device (a Droid Eris), so I have no experience with the devices that you mention.

i'm awar of that the device is "not a 2.1" device only... and it could be possible to get an official ROM in future.. but i wanna try to do it earlyer on myself!
so that is the point...
i saw this from HD2 Android Development...
there where firstly only 2.1 available..
but shortly after that there was a 2.2 Port too!
i pretty guess that they didn't have to rewrite the hole modules (drivers) the just edited somethin in the Nexus/Desire 2.2 File so to match the HD2
thx

Understood.
It's quite possible, I'm sure. There has not been an official 2.2 update for the Eris (and won't be), but there are several CM6 (2.2) ROMs out for it. The same for the Hero and probably several others.
I have a partially working AOSP (non-CM) 2.2 ROM, but have yet to get the audio to work. (I really like to hear the phone ring, so it's not quite usable yet.)
ok sounds good so far...
now the question is, whats the general process of gooing such a port on?
to get the system dump is not the problem... that should be done easily...

Intex envy
I am looking for the original rom of Intex ENVY IT-M709MR in form of update.zip.
thanks for help.
Cyanogen mod is another version of the android operating system. Basicly they take the normal Android OS, and some fun skins and tweaks to improve pr change system performance, and release it out for most Android devices. Because hardware can be very different for each device, not everything is going to be universile. Cyanogen is a great way to get rid of anoing bloat ware put in by manufactures and providers. I started using CM7 for my Samsung Captivate because I was tired of AT&T apps deciding they needed to start running on their own.
Clockwork mod is a bootloader (and a few otherthings) that can help you backup your device, restore it, and flash on new mods and roms. There are other types out there as well; I use an old clockwork mod on my Captivate, but I use Burrito for my Kindle Fire.
Odin is supposed to help you return to stock settings, like you just walked out of the store with it, before doing all those evil things like trying to get rid of apps you don't want and will never use.
As for how to get those on your device, I don't know, I haven't used one before. But good luck.
Also, please don't open new threads when you are working on the same problem / upgrade

Overclocking Stock ROM/Kernel

Hello everyone, this is my first topic on XDA after lurking for a while!
Anyways, today my topic is going to be concerning an Android Mini Tablet called the PlayMG. It's a WiFi tablet by a startup that's now gone bankrupt. The actual name of the device (development-wise) was the ACTScom A930. It was supposed to be a small 4 inch tablet like an iPod Touch with Android. You can find various info by googleing the name.
The specs go as stated:
ARM TCC8920 @ 960 MHz
1 GB RAM
4 GB DDR3 Storage
Android 4.0.4 ICS
Geekbench test:
http : //browser.primatelabs . com/geekbench3/356000
(sorry, I'm new so I can't post links until 10 posts)
The device was pretty cheap (around 90 dollars) and since then I've rooted it. I had to use SafeRoot because there is virtually no support anywhere for this device. As you can tell from the specs above, the device is fairly weak. My goal is to overclock the device to run at around 1.10-1.25 Ghz, however I'm stuck on the stock ROM and kernel. And as you can probably guess, there is no one to develop and overclockable Kernel for it. I have a few questions that I would like answered:
I was wondering are there any methods to overclock the stock kernel? Is that pretty much impossible?
Are there any ICS (or any) kernels that might work on this device?
Could I build the Kernel myself?
^Questions regarding this:
-Since the company went bankrupt, I can't really obtain a stock kernel, Could I somehow extract it from the device itself?
-If I were able to get the kernel, where can I go on XDA to guide me to building an overclockable kernel?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to overclock this device? I'm accepting all ideas, good or bad!
Thank you everyone in advance. All responses/knowledge is welcome!
Im also looking forward to this... Have a samsung galaxy star pro... Have compiled stock kernel from source successfully... It works... Nw i need to add oc nd everythung... How shuld i do it??? It is a spreadtrum device...
Anyone?

[Q] need help unbricking tablet Trio Stealth MST10-21

Hi all,
I've never installed android on a mobile device & I'm not sure if I can use any flavor of Android available
or if it's advisable.
Google's dev site, has Nexus 7 4.1.1 kernels available for download. I don't know if I should install it for
my generic tablet. I'm a bit hesitant in installing, even though it's what's installed, because this device
is my baseline for testing a game that I'm developing for low-end hardware.
My problem is that the company pushed updates that BRICKED my tablet.
If anyone has thoughts or can help me I would really appreciate it.
The company's support is atrocious! This will be the 2nd time I'd have to send a device back to them for
an RMA...once is enough.
Specs if it helps: 1GHz dual core Cortex-A9, Mali-400 MP GPU, 1Gb RAM
Thanks in advance...
Have you fixed it, I have the same problem, I need the original rom to flash. At Machspeed they simply won't do it. If you happen to have yours working I heard that there is a way to extract and zip the rom for future flash in case you need it.

Can I install a newer version of android on a Fly IQ4514 phone?

I'm new to the whole android world, so please forgive me if my question is sorta stupid I'm not exactly sure how this whole installing custom ROMs of android works, but I researched a bit and seems like you gotta find a custom ROM for your device first and then install it. The device I want to try is a Fly Eclipse 3 IQ4514 with 1 GBs of RAM and MediaTek MT6582M processor, running Android 4.4.2.
I might be a long shot, but I'm just curious to know if it's possible to force a higher version of android on this device? If there are any custom ROMs out there that I could use.
