Is possible to port the contact app, the dialer and the sms app of the MIUI rom to other rom?
Also the File Explorer and the gallery are greats!
well.. the real question is... can some program of MIUI rom be ported to other rom with simple apk?
Thanks you!
No, I don't think, that it works.
You can use Youlu Adress Book and GoSMS.
They both are nearly same as the MIUI Stock ones.

Wow... thank you! Both apps look great and are very functional! I think I can live without HTC Sense now...

is it possible to push STOCK Contact and Gallery APPS to the desire ROM? i have the KingXKxNexus Desire ROM but i would like the stock contacts app as well as the gallery as they run much quicker and are really smooth
so would it be possible for me to replace them with the stock ones?
also, can someone create a launcher for desire roms that would replace the "add widget" button by either contacts or web browser?
lastly, i've searched all over this forum, but i havent found any transparent notification bars for desire roms, are there any? or can some be made?
i know that you can push the 3dgallery apk , just find it here on the forums... also i know that with modaco's you can bake your desire rom with the default contacts... i was using alpha 10 with the default messaging and contacts and it was sweet.
how do you do that?
What's the advanced command to do so?
Also, where can i find the gallery messaging and contact apk?
Will I also be able to uninstall the HTC apparently like contacts etc? Customer I don't want to have 2 contacts app
does anyone know how i can push stock android apps like contacts and messaging to Desire ROMS so they'll get replaced?

you can just adb push and push the .apk files no need to replace they can coexist.
i know its possible for them to coexist, but i'd prefer to only have 1. (the stock)
do you think it would be possible?

Thanks for bringing that up. Actually, that could be a good thing to port to the EVO.
Anyone?
You mean you want the AOSP contacts?

The dialer I think would be under the name Phone.apk but I might be wrong. I pushed it on my EVO and the unit would not recieve serivce. I think We'll need the one from a MotoDroid or Desire. I believe this is a CDMA vs GSM issue that is built into the Phone app.
I've pushed the Nexus one Contacts.apk in and it too was unsucessful. I think it will take more then just the APK's while /system is locked. If they get that unlocked then you'll be able to just run the apk but for now all the files in data/data and /data/app need to come with it as well as any other hooks these apps have.
I've lost the stock contacts (People, why they re-name crap???) while trying to do this. When I get it figued out I'll let you know.
If anyone has the Desire or Moto Phone.apk I'll be happy to give it a try.
Might need any thing from /data/data/ and /data/app/ that is assoctiated with Phone or Dialer.
I would love to get rid of the sense dialer
Yeah.. I put money on the table to get rid of the sense dialer/ contacts.... so.. that'd be awesome if someone jumped on that.
The only way I achieved nexus one contacts is through the froyo port by avalaunch.
The sense phone and dialer app was a dealbreaker for me. The froyo phone app is simple and quick.
There are already roms that have this.

I tried one of the sense removed roms and it still had the sense dialer. Do you know which versions have the stock dialer?
Can we just open up a rom zip file and pull apk's out of it, or is it not that simple?
New version coming tonight

This one as well

I think there is another I've or two that have the asop dialer. On the last one listed the contacts part works from the dialer not the asp icon which isn't a big deal just make sure you select the right one before checking use as default.

Thanks for the links... I have actually used both of those, the top one is 2.2, and very nice, but not quite ready for day-to-day use unless you are willing to deal with no cameras and some flaky app stuff. I think I actually backed up the dialer in particular from it with Titanium, but it wouldn't install since it is 2.2 only.
The second one (NonSense): I tried the stripped one, and it used aosp stuff for many parts, but lots was still sense ui, including the dialer. It is possible that the full version includes it though.
I have non tried the Senseless rom yet, so it may be the one you are referring to.
Edit: I just looked at the nonsense thread a bit, and sure enough he mentions that it has the stock dialer. Sleep deprevation must be getting to me. Maybe the contacts app was still sense, but the dialer wasn't... or something.
Hi,
Can anyone suggest me a better dialer to use ? I don't like much the HTC default dialer that once open show list of call, I'd like something of more simple that only show numbers when pressed.
Thanks !

Thanks for that. I hate the Sense default dialer
I also suggest checking out Ray Dialer and Touchpal dialer. Touchpal has a Chinese description in the market, but don't be afraid it works fine in English too. Both of these run faster than Dialer One, especially Ray Dialer, which is very light and simple.
+1 for ray dialer if speed is your aim (near-instantaneous on htc sapphire)

Thanks for that one. I tried Fast Dialer and Dialer one, but none of those is as fast as Ray Dialer. I didn't know it. And BTW it is also nice looking. Thanks a lot for pointing it out!
How do you make Ray Dialer to be the default?
How can I make Ray Dialer the default dialer(in my Oxygen 2.0 ROM)?
thanks for the help!
It bugged me to no end that those of us with Exchange 2003 servers at work could not enable HTML e-mail, so I changed it
I came across a ROM in my travels here (CoreDroid) which had this enabled for their sense 3.0 e-mail app, so I KNEW it was possible. I've been using that 3.0 version for a while now (thanks CoreDroid Devs!), but decided to try a 3.5 rom (RCMix3D Runny 4.0) and wanted HTML e-mail with that too, so here's what I did:
I took Mail.apk from both the Sense 3.0 and 3.5 roms, decompiled them both, and compared the code. Found that a certain section of code wasn't present in the 3.0 apk, so I found the same place in the 3.5 apk and removed the code to make that part match. Recompiled, Signed, Zipaligned, and installed it on my device (replaced existing Mail.apk in system\app folder). Bingo! The option is now enabled and working! No adverse side effects at all.
I have attached the recompiled Mail.apk for everyone's enjoyment. Place it in your system\app folder, then you will be able to enable the HTML option. PLEASE back up the existing one or do a nandroid backup first!! - I am NOT responsible if you mess things up and have no backup!! With that disclaimer now out of the way - here are a few more notes:
It is very likely this will NOT work on Sense 3.0 ROMs because of changes in framework.
After enabling the HTML option in your account settings, existing messages will still be plain text. Any new messages will be in HTML format. To make them all HTML, I changed the number of sync days to one, then back to my usual 30. It then re-downloaded them all in beautiful HTML format
If your account no longer shows up under "Accounts & Sync" for some reason, open your mail app, then go to options and delete the account altogether. Re-add it and it will be back, but you will probably have to change the format to HTML again and change the number of days to sync to get your inbox all in HTML.
Lastly - this was done for the Desire HD, but this may work well on other devices with sense 3.5 also. Your mileage may vary.
Great thanks. Can you also check if you can get the unread mail count working. Current 3.5 mail doesn't show them.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
I knew it was possible! Switched to a 3.5 sense rom and lost the html format...but all my searches said it was never possible.
Thanks for this.
Will test out now.
EDIT: Works great..using with BinDroid RHD V2.2.1

Causes force closes on rcmix runny for me.
If you get FC's try wiping the mail app's data using Titanium Backup. That has worked for me in the past.
It shows up as "[EMAIL..." in the list, but is where you'd find "Mail" alphabetically

Check your PM - not posting here because it's CoreDroid's work!
Hi, Could you please post the Sense 3 Mail.apk with HTML Enabled as I am not use CoreDroid Sense3.0 ROM. Thank you very much~
You are a boss crazytek. Works like a charm! This is something my buddies and I have wanted for our sense roms for quite a while but just was not present in most of them. Thanks a lot for doing this!

Ditto, works great!
Awesome
Works great on Affinity 1.48 on Droid Inc2. Great work with this one. I was using enhanced email, but wanted to stay with the stock email app. Now I can.
What is the default sending font on this app? Is it Times New Roman 12? I'm trying to get a mail app that uses the Calibri font but everytime I decompile to change it and push it back to /system/apps it will install but force close upon opening.
Can we work together on getting it changed? I want to use Calibri 10.5 pt.
Wrong post ,sorry !!!
Thanks man!.. you're a legend for this small discovery! It's been bugging me from the beginning!.. I shall try it asap!
Thumbs up for this - Well done, really good for corporate users.
Hi, great mod nice one!
Also guys make sure you set the permissions correctly using root explorer on the APK once installed, it helped me stop some FC's.

I didn't have much luck personally with RCMix. Replaced the existing, then the Mail icon disappeared on my Home screen and Apps section.
I used Root explorer to just copy it over top of the existing.
Hmmmm....any secrets?
Does the HTML modded Sense3 one from Coredroid work on the latest stock release for DHD (Android Revolution 6.3.1), I just seem to remember Coredroids was based on a Sensation port?
If someone has the APK and can verify it works, please PM me?
Thanks.

Hi,
Could you PM me too.. still with Sense 3.0
I really love all the developers out there, you are doing an excellent job.
My question is that is it possible to have the messaging and contacts app of MIUI in cyanogenmod 9 ? Because MIUI has group messaging, and the contacts(people) app is also much more functional than is of cm9. Is there any way to extract these apps from MIUI and put them into CM9 ?
any help would eventually result in hitting thanks
