XDA App issues - G Tablet General

If I am logged into the app, I can view forums and threads, but when I try to open a thread I get a force close. If I am not logged I have no problems.
Is this a known issue for the G Tab?

Maybe someone will chime in with a fix or solution but I too was having issues of FC's. I have since just used the browser. I did download the XDA app from the market place.

Yup, same here, FC's all the time.

same here.

I am having the same issues as well, hopefully someone will fix this app <please> because the favorites tab is soooo convenient.

Any idea whats going on with the XDA app and the Force Close on the G Tab? I am running TnTLite 4.2.1 ..
Thanks

The XDA app hasen't worked since day one! The best ways see XDA are the browser ( recomend Dolphin HD; you can open links in new tabs and also create bookmarks in an XDA folder ) or TapATalk app.

Same issue running TnT Lite 4.2.2

Same issue here, doesn't matter which ROM as I've tried it on both TnT Lite and Vegan.
I've tried everything in the sense of clearing user data, cache, wiping everything known to man.
It seems to be a TapaTalk program issue as I tried the androidtablets.net app and it would constantly FC as well.

[Q] xda app

Has anyone figured out how to stop the xda app from force closing whenever you try to open a thread? It only happens on my gtab, so I use the web browser version to post. Like I am now
most have given up on it and use the Tapatalk app instead, haven't heard of a fix for it.

+1 on that. I posted the same question about a month ago not even knowing tapatalk existed. Good way to go
What is tapatalk? Is it an android market app?
The problem is landscape mode!!!!
I was having the FCs and then had a thought: what if I run the app in portrait mode. I tried and it seems to work without FCs. Added multiple favorites, read forums and articles.
EDIT: OK, opening articles is now giving FCs. Sigh....

Yes. The xda app is a subset of Tapatalk, which can be used for xda and other discussion boards as well.
MOtly works in portrait
After more use I am finding that portrait mode seems to work for reading. Just read about 20 articles from 3 gtablet forums without an FC. Before I had FCs all the time. Just leave the app in portrait. I was also NOT logged in. WIll try logged in and see if there is a difference.

I noticed the fc only happen when I was logged in, but that's still crappy o I switched as you can see.

Gonna Try it now, lol. I never thought about portrait mode.
**Didnt work, still getting the F C
Great for reading. Pretty much crashes as soon as I sign in though.
It seems to be signing in
OK, if I don't signin I can run the app and browser threads and the like. When I signin I get FCs pretty quickly. Can others try to use without signing in and see what behavior you get.

xda app force closes and lags in browser...

the xda app force closes and lags like crazy using dolphin HD. what do you guys use to browse xda on the transformer?
Try changing the Xda style in your browser to xda classic. You can find it at the bottom of the page.

I actually bought the donation xda app because of this issue. Works flawless and besides I wouldn't have this tablet if it wasn't for xda.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but anyone else having this problem? I can get the app to open, see the list of threads and view them if I am NOT logged in, but if I log in, the app closes as soon as I try to view a thread. IS this just a known issue and I am not aware of it because I am new to the TF?
FYI, I am running the latest version of Revolver by gnufabio

Same issue and i'm running KRAKD, using browser instead of app and works fine.
Rather like using app though but oh well, maybe a fix will come out if enough ppl asking for it.
I use Tapatalk HD on my TF101. The app runs like a dream.

It does. Facebook doesn't make the app for 3.x so this is the version for Android 2.x.x.
it works like a charm, thanks mate
//TFT Prime 1.6
Thanks for this OP. I was disappointed that I couldn't get fb to work anymore without using the browser.
I installed it without uninstalling my existing fb app first and it didn't work. It FC every time I opened it.
After uninstalling and reinstalling again, it now works like a charm.
Gave "Thanks"
Thanks for this
Was too lazy to take it off the phone so I've been suffering with FriendCaster

Does anyone know if this means it will add sync for facebook contacts? Kinda missing that on my TF.
EDIT: Welp, I might as well should of just installed it to answer my own question. I did. It synced my contacts. Now I can post pictures to facebook.
This definitely is better for chat than the browser but I don't think it will notify correctly?
Anyway, thanks for posting the APK!
Me too. If I click Friends its going to FC. anyone else having the same issue?

Don't update the xda app

I along with alot of other users are having trouble with the new xda app on the market. Luckily I had a backup in titanium backup. The update may work for others but if you update I would backup the xda app before you do. Just a friendly reminder.

I don't think it is the APP, I think it is the whole server. I am having problems on the computer with XDA while every other website I visit works perfectly.

There are server issues being dealt with, they're working on it. It isn't the app.

Why my XDA forums view is broken?

Hi
Everytime I log in with my username at the browser version of XDA forums the view is broken. Please help me.
It's working fine in the app but not in any Windows or even Android browser

Reload. Usually this happens to me when the internet connection is bad or slow.
Try to use tapatalk or xda's phone app. Will solve the problem.

Sorted it out, it was the old 2010 xda theme that was buggy, I couldn't even switch to 2015 theme because it was broken, but in CP settings I could switch to 2015 and it worked
