So i was looking around and came across a Chinese site that compared a few different ROMS for the G tablet/Zpad.
But unfortunately I cannot post the links yet, because of antispamming rules and the number of posts that I have put up.
I am going to post a few times here and then post the links as there is one ROM that may prove to be very beneficial to people who are more inclined in cooking roms than I am.
If you do a Google search for "malata zpad firmware"
One of the results will look like:
Malata Zpad ( updated Dec. 3,2010)(頁 1) - 平板電腦 - 電腦領域 ...
Malata Zpad ( updated Dec. 3,2010). [i=s] 本帖最後由 pcmtse 於 2010-12-3 18:25 ..... 1, 2010 firmware. This UI really not showing what the hardware can do.
This site when translated provides soem very interesting information, including a ROM called Big_Ideas
I placed the URL for that site into translate google com and chose Chinese to English. And it has a nice review of of a few different ROMs for this device, including Vegan ROM.
What Caught my Eye was one I had never heard of called Big_Ideas:
"Big_Ideas' s ROM first released on Dec, 14, and updated again o Dec. 22. It's done by Xiao1u in the QQ group from China.
This is currently the fastest ROM on the Tegra 250 platform. The score on Neocore and Gl benchmark said it all. If you look at the benchmark result on GLbenckmark webpage, all the top rating machine run this ROM, in fact they are from the same QQ group. This is a pure Android 2.2 ROM without any additive, give you the best compatibility and speed combination.
A new kernel just released that support CIFS, so that you can mapped a network drive and let media files play over the network. NTFS read support also added to this kernel. This is the first kernel, for the Tegra platform, which can do this."
When you go to the site which has a link to download the Big_Ideas ROM (81MB by the way)
they list out a bunch of stuff that is pretty much meaningless to me but my be helpful to others here, so I am going to post it.

Firmware in the absence of a library libHWColorPen.so, handwriting input method does not result in handwriting.
Download this file with root explorer copy to / system / lib / can be.
If you click the link on that page it takes you to a page titled:
Big_ideas1222 (original pure version). Rar
near the bottom there are 3 links
they are easy to miss, the first link is "Unicom 1 download"
the second is "1 download telecom"
the third is "backup download"
Clicking any of those will get you an 80 meg rar file which contains img files and other various bits.
No very usefule to me as I have no idea what to do with them to make them usable but someone else will be able to i'm sure.
I have tried all three and the "1 download telecom" link is the fastest but none of them are blazing fast. I am going to put the file up on megaupload if anyone is interested.
I figured the more options that we have or different sources for ideas and files the better everything will be in the long run
There is a link to the original Zpad firmwares as well, but the CIFS and NTFS read functions of the Big_Ideas ROM caught my eye.
It appears that they have higher builds of the zpad firmware (1125) than i have seen so that may be helpfuill as well
I have had this rom and am working on a zpad clean version of it.
I have been following this work and have been releasing english friendly versions as zpad clean releases. Currently there are mounting problems when using a gtab compatible boot.img.
If you apply bigideas as a nvflash, it will change your partition layout.
Also I have a kernel I compiled with cifs support available in this forum that works for tnt or vegan.

Ahh ok.
I hadn't seen anything else about it so I figured I would try to be helpful.
Since You already know about it, I'll drop it. Thanks~
Is the zpad Clean 2.x based off of this ?

2.x is off of 1125, which was the old partition layout, identical to ours.
Big Ideas is a ROM that i think is based off of 1202 or something but has a lot of the stock nvidia image layered on. However since 1125, TnT and Zpad have moved in separate directions, which makes it harder to convert it over.
TnT boot.img + big ideas system.img will result in BT, Wifi, mounting not working.
Currently I have wifi and BT not working, but am working on the sdcard mounting. When I get it working I'll set it up with all the gingerbread visual stuff and post a link to it. Hopefully I can get something working sometime tonight or tomorrow.

My Malata Zpad is on it's way. Which Kernel and Roms should I use? The ones you made or the Big_ideas1222 ones? Would the chinese ones work better with the 1GB ram version of the Zpad? Is there a lot of chinese in there?
I've read through your Zpad thread, really cool stuff you're doing
Hello, i has been reading the thread trying to find how to flash the big_ideas ROM but i doesnt see where is it, would please someone let me know how can i flash my Zpad Malata T2 please? ^^ i just recived today but its really bad the KErnel ive got :O thanks in advance!

I would imagine that it would be the same/similar procedure as flashing the G-Tablet.
Install ClockworkMod -> backup -> install a ROM -> Flash Player -> and the Market Fix
but instead use the big_deas rom.
I'm a noob, so this will have to be confirmed before you try it.
Oh. BTW, that guide in the link is not mine, just in case I gave the wrong idea.
Also here is another Zpad specific thread that might help by 2manytoys.
Ive installed tnt_lite_v2_2 without problem, but im trying to install Big_Ideas and its impossible, i dunno how to do it, the internal structure of compressed archive is very different of tnt_lite_v2_2.zip and its another point because the big_ideas its.rar...
Im short in ideas and im trying to get how to do it on threads but i cant find it T_T

What's inside the .rar?
Is there not a .zip inside?

Howto Flash the device:
Shutdown the Pad.
Then Press The Button on the Right site in front of the pad (there is only one?) and the Power Button at the Same Time.
Then the device will be flashable and the light will be blue i think.
Then you Put the USB-Cable in, install the driver which is also in the package.
Now you can open burntool.
Device10 should be green.
Now jo goto Settings, and set uboot, kernel,sys-dat, udat
uboot: u-boot.img
linux-kernel:zImage_cui
linux-sys:system.img
linux-udat:userdata.img
Press the FIRST button from the left site to confirm the settings
Now press Start and the device should be starting to flash....
However sometimes the board hangs after flashing and will not start directly dont worry. If everything doesnt help, do a reset.
So iam not responsible again, this was the way i used and it worked.
I thinks its impossible to brick the pad, because you can flash it every time again. (throu ENTER+Power button mode).

I am wondering the same thing too. I have vogue and I am very impress with the work of Myth Donut build. I just ordered a ZT180. I familiar with building linux kernel, mostly for servers and desktops, maybe if I can hack some stuffs if the original build is out somewhere. Is there a place where I can pickup some clues about this here?

Hi People,
This week i've received the zt-180 10 inch ipad clone. As i could not found another thread about this device it's good to start one and gather information about this device. Of course it would be great to see some news about the device.
I am trying to get my hands on the software from the developer, with the correct settings
and drivers for this device. Please comment below if you got anything new on this!
If i have some news or results i will be back!
Another discussion on this device is going on:

I am interested in the ZT180, but I think I will hold out for the tegra 2 based android tablets I keep hearing about.
Thanks for the image. I tried to find the data sheets online but fail to find the main processors. I think they relabeled the chip. It is most likely from south korea. Same for the memory chip.
The RTL8201CT is the LAN chip:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/productsview.aspx?langid=1&pfid=13&level=5&conn=4&prodid=25
The two NAND flash chips are: HY5PS1G1631C FP-Y5

csbert, would you please answer me in PM.
I have 2 Interesting Firmwares for the 180:
-Android
-WinCE.
Flashsoftware + uboot is included.
My firsttry will be run a little linux with usb + tft support to see the full hardware .....
Could we work together ?
Sry i dont get this Forumsoftware, sorry...
Sry for Douplepost:

The Cortex-A8 Processor is ARMv7.
csbert: Do you got my PM with Downloadlink? Please answer.
Yes. I got it thanks you for sharing.
When I get my machine, I will starting building a linux kernel for it.
However, should we do android instead? When done right, it is pretty good.

I'm looking to buy one of these, can someone give me a link as where to buy one from??
Well, it is confirmed that it is not a Cortex, which is Arm v7, but is an Arm 11, which is Arm V6. So it is like a superfast iPhone 2G.
http://www.slatedroid.com/showthrea...180-Specifications-Faking-Not-ARMv7-A8-Cortex!
It is still a nice platform to develop on though.
but not for $300...
[EDIT]
might as well cash in on a $150 GT78, and develop on that...
spam 5m delay is utterly moronic...
[/EDIT]
You're doing a great job!
I have one, but I can't use it because of the chinese firmware which I doesn't understand....
hope some of you can post an firmware vesion soon so I can start using my device.
respect for the ones who can make the roms!
This Package includes:
-Usb_Driver
-WinCE
-Android2.1
-burntool
http://www.multiupload.com/BV5BEUWJ1K
Again I need to say, that is (so far as i know) not the Official Firmware.
This Android really sucks, i dont like it, only use it for informationfinding.
Do somebody already have a SDK Connection to the pad (PC<-SDK->PAD)
I need to know howto make a adb connection possible.
Thanks

Is this Android 2.1 v1 (that came with the ZT-180) or something else?
I was curious as to what the device actually was.
From Hinagiku's prompting on QQ, I made threads on Slatedroid about the spec faking.
I am still unable to retrieve system files to actually further prove that thsiis indeed an ARM11 based processor. I have tried to use unyaffs on the system.img from my Linux partition. The system.img should be some variant of yaffs, as there's a file in the firmware pack that indicates that.
I was hoping to find out where and how JIT has been enabled, and possibly perform readelf on the libs.
Anyhow I really want a system dump.

How to flash the android onto zt-180?
Hi,
Have downloaded the firmware including the burntool but don't know what to do now.. above all, its in chinese..
Any help please.. btw the zt-180 is not recorgnized on otg or usb port with windows 7.. any ideas?

I'll hope now you understand it
My Problem is now to get the SDK working, which usb port i have to use, to make a usb-sdk connection with the pad. The OTG Port isnt recognized in windows while Android is running, and i dont have a Cable to test USB to USB directly. Could that be possible? If anyone have the resources please test it, i need this information thanks
6/5/2011 EDIT : Going to alter this post for two reasons. First, the information inside is pretty old news and stale for most, and not even very relevant for new users. Second, there is STILL confusion between these two branches that needs to be ironed out, imo.
6/20/2011 EDIT: Added some links to the assorted mods (and google searches for anything not on XDA, to abide by the rules). Also, goodintentions has a new site up that is VERY helpful for new user questions. It is here: http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com (I assume this link is OK to advertise, as it hasn't been pulled by the moderators yet).
If you are considering modding your new GTAB, I would suggest reading this. It's going to be a long read, but you'd rather not brick your device, right?
Some Terminology Pre-Reqs to Understand
"Soft-brick". The device is not booting up properly anymore, but is potentially fixable by using a tool called "nvflash".
"APX Mode". The is a low-level mode on the GTablet where you can makes repairs and un-brick the device.
"Nvflash". This is the name of the actual tool you use, when you are in APX mode.
"Clockworkmod". This is an alternate recovery tool. It adds a few things that the 1.1-based stock recovery does not have, such as full image backups, wiping user data and SD repartitioning. The 1.2-based stock recovery is a little better, but clockworkmod still has more options than 1.2 standard recovery
"/data partition". This is the area on the device where all your user data and user apps reside. A factory reset will wipe this area.
"/sdcard partition". This is the area on the device where all your content resides. It's also the area that gets mounted on your PC.
"Data wipe" or "User data wipe". This is a factory reset -- all user apps and data will be erased. Content in the device's /sdcard is not touched.
"SD repartition". This is a data wipe and a wipe of /sdcard. So both areas are erased.
"ROM" as defined for use should be considered a BOOT ROM. This is the base program running on your tablet, like an operating system it is the first line of code to load and while not every rom is a full replacement of the viewsonic operating system only one can be loaded at a time. (thanks mERRIL!)
"Kernel" as used here is the tablets details and settings written out so the software knows how to interact with the hardware. This is where things like overclocking can be done, along with changing the way your backlight or wifi utilizes power. (thanks mERRIL for both of these!)
Two Development Branches, and How to Check which version you have
This is the FIRST thing any new Gtablet user should check imo, before you attempt to mod your device. Viewsonic / US Merchants released a new development branch with a new bootloader and kernel (which they later pulled), and older mods do NOT play nice with it. There have been reports that at least a few TigerDirect users have gotten 4349 OOTB.
So, to check which branch you are on if you are on STOCK: Go to Settings -- About Tablet -- Tapu UI Version. If your firmware starts with "1.1", then you are on the 1.1 (old) branch. If your firmware starts with "1.2", then you are on the 1.2 (new) branch. Also an obvious difference between the two is that the 1.2 branch adds a lockscreen to the tablet.
The "Two Cliffs" analogy
Try to think of these two branches as two cliffs. If you are on either side and want to mod your device, the safest way is to use a mod that is built around the branch you are on. Here on XDA Developers site, most of their mods and custom kernels are based on the 1.1 branch (as of this writing 6/14/11 EDIT: That seems to be changing). For 1.2 based mods, there are several options but most of them are not posted here on XDA. So you have options regardless of which branch you are on. There is no advantage of using one over the other, except possibly vendor support - 1.1 is still the ROM offered by the vendor, given that their one released 1.2 ROM was pulled.
It is possible to jump from 1.1 to 1.2, and back again. But think of this as a bridge between the two. I have done extensive tests in the last month on this, and it does work MOST of the time if you follow directions. But even when doing everything right , there is still a small chance that you will "fall of the bridge" and into the abyss (soft-brick). And if you attempt to jump between them with clockworkmod, you will fall for sure, 100% of the time. Think of clockworkmod as a "bridge that is out".
The most sturdy bridge, going on my own testing, is the one based on build 1.1-3588 full stock. This makes sense because this is what Viewsonic would want you to be on, before jumping to 1.2. The reverse (1.2-4349 stock, for example) is also fairly sturdy. But again, it is a higher risk than staying within the same branch.
I'm on a 1.2-based stock ROM. What are my modding options?
If you are on the 1.2 branch, there are actually quite a few options right now. The challange for a user is finding them and understanding that you have to be careful if you try to use a 1.1 mod instead (see the "Two Cliffs Analogy", above).
The current 1.2 based options on XDA (as of 6/16/11) are:
- Calkulin+Clemsyn 1.5ghz Froyo Combo VERSION 6
- Beasty's 2.2.1 ROM (Adam) + Clemsyn ver 11 1.5ghz kernel
- Clem / roebeet Honeycomb alpha combo (this is a Clem creation and is actually forked from my own HC port)
- Honeycomb Android Illuminate for The Gtablet
- Gingerbread Rom Collection for Bootloader 1.2 (these are CM7 ROMs ported to the 1.2 bootloader)
The current 1.2 based options NOT hosted on XDA (as of 6/16/11) are:
- Honeycomb for GTAB - Flashback
- Century Eyes (Froyo based "EDEN" port)
- Mountain Laurel (Froyo based "TapnTap" port)
- Brilliant Corners (Froyo based "VEGA"/"Viewpad" port)
- Bottle of Smoke Honeycomb port
Pershoot and Clem both have 1.2 kernels that you can use, as of this writing. Not all of that information is here, some are on other sites.
I'm on a 1.1-based stock ROM. What are my modding options?
On XDA, there are still a number of mod options and customized kernels, at your disposal. Again, a 1.1 to 1.1 mod should be fairly safe to attempt. If you need to jump to 1.1 from 1.2, I would recommend reading the modder's post to see if there are instructions for 1.2 jumpers.
The current 1.1 based options on XDA (as of 6/16/11) are:
- VEGAn-Tab Froyo Build
- ZPad Clean v3.0 for gTablet
- VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition
- G-Harmony Gingerbread 2.3.4 with Honeycomb elements
- Calkulin's G-Tab [ 3991 l Battery Saver script w/ Profiles ]
- Evervolv | GRJ22/Android 2.3.4
- Gingerbread-gtab-deck
- GtabComb for Bootloader 1.1 Gtablet\Zpad T (this is a zyhong creation and is actually forked from my own HC port)
- TNT Lite Froyo (similar to Calkulin's ROM, and currently retired)
- gADAM Froyo (currently retired, as well)
The current 1.1 based options NOT hosted on XDA (as of 6/16/11) are:
- Cyanogenmod 7.x
There are also a few custom kernels for 1.1, specifically the ones by Pershoot and Clemsyn, here at XDA.
OK, so I've confirmed that I'm on one dev branch but I want to use a mod that's on another dev branch - what do I do?
My suggestions:
1- Read the modder's first post, for possible instructions.
2- If there are no instructions for branch jumpers, DO NOT assume that it's safe to jump. Ask the modder first, to be sure.
I am generalizing here, but the older 1.1 mods might not have instructions for 1.2 users, as 1.2 didn't exist at the time the mod was created. Imo, the SAFEST way to jump to a mod that's on another branch is to use stock. So 3588 stock to 4349 stock (using standard recovery) to go up, and 4349 stock to 3588 stock (using standard recovery) to go down. The main reason why it's the safest is because stock has the bootloader image in there, which is required to jump.
Also, gojimi has a post with instructions for 1.2 to 1.1 downleveling: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036956
I attempted a 1.1 to 1.2 (or vice versa) jump, and now I'm stuck at the birds. Is this a soft-brick?
Yes, it's a soft-brick if you are stuck at the birds. You'll need nvflash the device to fix it. There is information here on XDA on how to do that, or you can find this on other tablet sites.
I attempted a 1.1 to 1.2 (or vice versa) jump, and now I'm stuck at the GTablet screen, or I'm boot looping. Is this a soft-brick?
Probably not - more likely is that you just need to do a data wipe, or a SD repartition if that does not work.
I have a Hannspad (or an Olipad) - does this apply to me?
I believe that it does, going on what I've read. Both these devices seem to be based on the TapUI, and the 1.2 development branch. So attempting a 1.1 GTAB ROM will likely have the same pitfalls. Also keep in mind that even 1.2-based GTAB ROMs have issues. for example, the Hannspad can boot a 1.2-based ROM (like "Bottle of Smoke") but the side keys won't work because the hardware is different. I don't have these devices myself, but I am going on third-party information.
Roebeet, can I safely install over the 3588 Stock Enhancement and Market Fix? I hate to lose the Market but definitely don't want to deal with a brick right now. Another user indicated he/she installed the update over a similarly configured machine and it worked but then applied the Stock Enhancement and Market fix and soft bricked.
I appreciate all the work you do for other users, including me.
interesting!!!
I love my devs!!! Seriously you guys rock!!!
P.S. I am sticking with Vegan GingerEdition
Great post and good info roebeet - stickied for the immediate future.

I haven't tested all scenarios, as there are just too many of them. I specifically picked VEGAn as I know that's a very popular ROM and I could see new stock users flashing to that.
Rule of thumb: If you are going from a 1.1-based ROM to a 1.2-based ROM (or vice versa) and use clockworkmod, you will soft-brick your device.
Great work! More coffee for Roebeet
I guess ... better stick to TNT Lite 4.4 for now.
I am curious about (not in any hurry tho)
cwm+TnT Lite 4.4 ->fixrecovery.sh -> stock 3588 ->OTA 4349

I ran 3991 for a good while during the time the Wooters needed help.
I tried to install the Enhancement Pack on 3991 and it semi-bricked my

I wouldn't try it until someone tests it for sure -- unless you want to
be the tester!!!???

cwm+TnT Lite 4.4 ->fixrecovery.sh -> OTA 4349. This might work. Haven't tested it yet, but I will. It worked for build 3991, so it might work with 4349.
EDIT: One test, one success. Again, YMMV.
As a new tab owner where do I find the build number please?
Thank you

No, it does not. All it does is flashes back 3588 recovery which is the recovery needed to flash between a 1.1-based and 1.2-based ROM.
yay! what we all knew to be the case a month ago is finally confirmed.
SoCal2,
The version number etc. is at Setting/About.

just lou,
A good start would be to read this thread. If you can do this procedure, it will NVFlash you back to stock version 2638 -- which we call bekit 1105 a lot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
Once you get to 2638, you can set up wifi and it will fairly quickly bring you an OTA Update notice and you can move up to 3588 -- and you can go where you want
from there.
Rev
Well best I recall mine was running 3588--whatever upgraded when I got it a couple weeks ago.
Sae the upgrade a few minutes ago, and opted to load it.
Now sits at "home", shows current (working) time, that I have linksys, that it is charged ((86%) and that sound is on.
Nothing else works. Oh yes, there is lower right hand icon showing an open padlock.
This came up after upgrade. I've powered off and on a couple of times.
Any recommendations?
I stumbled across this, i hope the developers on XDA can help...
This is a SD card bootable version of the OS.
It's based on the projectGus release for the eken m001, modified so it uses 256M of ram and the calibration is customized so it can run on the flytouch without the inverted axises.
THIS IS A ALPHA STAGE ROM, maybe the developers here on XDA can create a stable flashable NAND version out of this ?
DOWNLOAD ROM
This is NOT my work, credits go to kiarov for the flytouch 1 build, check original thread HERE.
Instructions :
1. Flash to a SD card, according to instructions found HERE
(Rename the "froyo_flytouch.img" to "debian-m001."(without "img")) before flashing
2. Copy the stuff ("script" folder) from the RUDROID version available HERE
If you don't know what to do with the file, you should take a look at instructions HERE
There are the instructions on how to copy the disk image for linux and windows.
Be aware that you'll need an at least 2gb sd card to copy the files.
Everything works....
BUT:
Kernel version 'unavailable'
when it sleeps, it dismount SD, when it 'wake up', it shows message 'damaged SD'
when you remove SD and put it again, it doesn't recognize
Market apps are only 1.6
Credits go to projectgus for the original eken m001 rom where the flytouch 1 build is based on. Check original thread HERE
Note from projectgus for the EKEN M001 BUILD :
''All the scripts & patches I used are available on github. There should be enough there for a savvy person to fairly easily build this again from an AOSP release.
The kernel used is “my” copy of Wondermedia’s kernel source release. Hopefully as Alexey’s from-scratch kernel adds more features, it will eventually be able to run Android as well.
If you do build anything using this, please please please share source/instructions for what you improve. Every “secret” someone hoards away is a step away from making these devices properly usable.
This Froyo build comes unsupported (sorry), and I’m not likely to do a whole lot more on it. However, one thing I do intend to do is get it running on my Eken M003 (my M001 has serious hardware problems so I can’t really use it as a tablet any more.)
However, I really hope that others will jump in, build on it, and make something good. Enjoy!''

THIS ROM MAKES THIS PAD ROCK NOW
For now its back to using IUW to do either one of the versions..
you will also need to have done a U-BOOT-NAND upgrade at some stage.. and need to be showing at least uboot - 0.6.1.5 (587) at bootup at the right hand bottom of our screen.. if you dont have this then you will need to do it..

CONFIRMED #3925 2.2 v2.1 bootable sd install. One step process. Great job!
(for those wondering I have 6.1.5 (559) uboot so any at that or later should be allright)
EDIT: IF you have at least 6.1.5 (559[or higher]) showing on the Infotmic screen when booting you should be able to 1) download the .img file at the link above, 2) burn the .img file to an sd card using win32diskimager (or winhex), and 3) insert the sd card into slot between 2 usb ports while booting to update to 2.2 v2.1.
PS Not only does camera still work clearly for me on 559, camcorder records now.

I installed #3656 first and skipped the UO file when installing this and everything worked great. I installed the newest UO 0.6.1.5 () too and root seems to work after that too.
What I really like with this release is that swedish language is included (was missing in all updates after 1623) and ofcourse that it's Froyo!
To get Titanium Backup to work you will have to copy your old TitaniumBackup folder from the SD card to the new created when you installed TitaniumBackup, after that TitaniumBackup will find all your backuped apps.
It seems like both Flytouch2 and Flytouch3 are at version #3925, maybe the are compiling new versions for both pads at the same time now, so we can count on a new version when Flytouch3 gets one?

Bugs so far.. will update as the forum grows so that we have a reference page at the front.. saves a lot of reading later if this grows too much..
Please report your bugs and we can get people to work out fix's for you..
1: Ndrive does not work in this version
2: Small amount of people experience has Wifi connection/dropout problems - yet to find a fix..
Also no confirmed tests on Ethernet connections as yet - will confirm once we get some feed back - I am in Singapore airport and wasn't able to use the the Ethernet plugin for net.. so will check it out over the next few days as I will be in different Hotels so can test connections on the road
3: No apps2sd --- hope some one smarts finds a work around.. it would be killer if we could redirect some of the apps to see the SD1
A note on this...
in 2.2 V1.8 the file structure is sdcard local ram storage.... and ... SD1 - sdcard storage.. and SD2 -
in 2.2 V2.1 file structure is Local ram storage... and SDcard 1 and 2
both are locked in to using the local partitions for program storage and program data storage..
Which is a shame as things like ebooks and heavy graphic programs it would be nice to send the storage to SD1 or 2
This is fixed.. look at Smarkies thread for work around..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074251
4: Synchronization contacts and google calendar - Mixed bag on this one.. some get it some don't...might be a cache thing..
Fix once again provided by Barsuk .. check posts from Capeschae and Barsuk for fix.. they are from posts 121 pg13 - 126 pg 13
5: Paid Market apps - This is because of the China location block from Google more on it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551929&page=3
there seems to be a fix thanks to Barsuk..

I installed this official Froyo too. It's very, very fast, more than all the different firmware tested from here!
Some remarks/questions:
- The camera is not working anymore, the preview screen shows green or sometime other colors...
- A lot of apps are pre-installed, meaning that it is impossible to update them (Dolphin Browser, Skype, Facebook etc...)
- Is it possible to install Flash Player on it? Will it work? Does anybody tried?
- Is it possible to overclock the Flytouch2 with this rom? Is the kernel overclockable?
Thanks,
Tuc

After trying a few flash websites, I noticed that Flash Player is ON BOARD in this Froyo ROM!
But colors are something between colored and black&white...and crash in fullscreen mode.
The colors issue has been fixed on the new Flytouch (512Mb RAM) - the following quotation from Androidtablets.net explains how to proceed:
Flash Player issues RESOLVED - new flash player .apk
I have tested this on my ft2v2 with TCH rom 0419, and it mostly worked! Flash now played with correct colours and almost no lag once buffered. It did however crash when I attempted to go full screen, so not perfect yet. Opera mini and Maxthon Browser use the youtube app for youtube website if you have it installed. This works excelently. Flash worked well on other flash websites, I tried an emag site and it loaded where it would not before.
Here is the new apk: Adobe flash for flytouch3.rar (Thanks koti)
Password: koti
Install:
1) use Root Explorer to rename file \system\app\install-flash-player.apk to .old
2) Reboot Flytouch
3) Install the above .apk
I tried youtube and also some eMag sites.
NOTE: This is now included in Tim's ROMS 3b and 3c.

Yeah yeah, noob question! Prepare to verbally pants me.
Just bought a iView 756TPC tablet from the egg. Works pretty well some issues and chinese bloatware. Anyhow, want to flash this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760929
Only problem is I don't know whether to try the MOMO9 compatibility patch or the LY-F1 patch. Only differences I can find are I have 1GB DDR3 not 512MB DDR2. Both are almost identical hardware. I am leaning towards the LY-F1 b/c my buildprop shows Broncho which is listed as a clone of the LY-F1. I have googled a ton but it seems this thing is pretty new. You'll prolly find a few of my threads when you search and not much else! There is some info on the 760TPC which is from the same manufacturer. So basically I am confused as possible. I pasted some specs I exported from the systeminfo app. Hope that's enough to go on. Go ahead and rip me a new one.

Why yes, yes you can!
Got ClockworkMod Recovery working. Only issue is my buttons don't work. I have to use adb to initialize the recovery as well. Cannot hit the "back" key while in recovery mode but as long as you do everything right that's ok! I just flashed the LY-F1 version and it is SWEET so much faster than the stock ICS rom that came with the 756 from iView. However, my back, menu and home buttons don't work. They are not hard buttons but rather on the touchscreen part, probably related to why I can't use them to boot into CWM recovery too. The screen flickers a bit as well, but looks like with some tweaking I can get this baby running CyanogenMod9 :victory: Any other iView 756TPC users need some help getting going, it was not easy... let me know!
I'll just keep talking to myself!
OK, well neither of the compatibility patches will work with this tab so I guess I'm on my own. Oh well, I think I have the key mapping figured out and know i can easily change the lcd density so I can fix those no problem. It's including all the modules in the system/vendor/modules/ folder I am concerned about. There are a ton of those and I guess I am just not sure how they work and if I will have to customize the install script to include them in the existing patch. A lil' help would be splendid. I modified the existing Momo9 patch to include the updated key mapping and modified the script that changes the default cm9 lcd density, but I cannot get clockwork to execute my zip. Do i have to zip it up a certain way? I also added the vendor modules in the appropriate location inside the new zip, but I was not sure if I needed to add some scripting to copy them since there is no vendor folder in the existing patch i am modifying?? again if anyone is reading this I would really appreciate some kind of response!:fingers-crossed:
Thanks!

Yeah, I had bought 2 of them. One of them suddenly had a pixel die, then the screen became unresponsive so I RMA'd them and bought a Samsung Galaxy 2. I could not figure out how to get the extra buttons on the touchscreen to work. I successfully remapped the volume buttons to serve as menu and back until I figured out the touch buttons. It must have something to do with a module for the touchscreen itself. I was going to try and insmod some modules (there are a zillion of them in the vendor module folder in the stock rom) and see what happened, then the pixel died and I said forget it. One thing I wanted to try was using a gingerbread rom for the 760TPC and see if it improved performance, but obviously never got around to it. The stock ICS Rom from iview was sluggish, especially compared to CM9 which the tablet ran admirably I must say. Anyways good luck!
One more note, to answer my own question just in case anyone else had it....
For some reason CWM did not like my winRAR zip files. Zipping them with 7zip default zip settings seemed to remedy the situation. I was able unzip the patch modify files using Notepad ++ and re zip with 7zip. CWM then would execute my patch just fine.
@RedForestStudios. Thanked you for each of your posts. You have given me some hope that I will be able to get CM9 on this little tablet. I didn't need it. I only bought it because I couldn't say no to the price. Any chance of detailing how you got CWM and CM9 on this? Did you use the method for the 760TPC?
I see you said you didn't get the buttons working. I'm assuming that was in CM9, correct? If I can get CWM on it I would be happy using ADB or QuickBoot to initiate it.
Does anyone happen to have a backup of the stock rom? i have searched the corners of the internet trying to find it as mine died on my second day of owning it but could be fixed with a flash of the stock rom. If anyone could help i would be very thankful

Iview has posted this full update on their site. Although I have yet to make it work. If you can get it to work let me know.
Their website is www<dot>iviewus<dot>com. Go to the dowloads page. Replace my <dot> with .
Spoke too soon
It looks like IviewUS has pulled the image. That may have explained the problem I was having after getting LiveSuit 1.09 to work.
From Iview
Iview says they are rebuilding their image file and the rewriting the instructions to the CyPad 756TPC. It should be posted in a few days.

Good to see some activity here in this thread. In case anybody wants/needs it RedForestStudios kindly gave me what he had before he returned his tablet. Sadly, I am too busy/lazy to learn what to do with it. If anybody wants it let me know. Meanwhile I'll reach out to him and make sure its ok.
What his zip included:
• cm9 – CyanogemMod 9 from XDA for AllWinner A10s
• CWM Recovery 5 ICS – CWM for AllWinner A10s (I think there might be some stray .ko and .kl files in their you can just delete)
• iview ICS – The stock rom from iView
• momo9_compatibility_1.2.0 – Don’t know if this is my modded version or not, cannot recall, you can easily find out by comparing to the original
I contacted the OP a while back and he provided me with some stuff he had and accomplished. Perhaps somebody who has one of these could use this to aid in dev? I am to busy/lazy to learn how to do this at this time.
I contacted him again today and he has agreed to allow me to pass it on should someone want it.
Included in zip:
• cm9 – CyanogemMod 9 from XDA for AllWinner A10s
• CWM Recovery 5 ICS – CWM for AllWinner A10s (I think there might be some stray .ko and .kl files in their you can just delete)

Also some notes from RedForestStudios:
Couple of notes, first make sure to use a text editor like notepad++ to edit the files unix/linux do not like the extra linebreaks or spaces windows typically inserts. If you happen to be using a program like dreamweaver to edit these make sure to turn on the unix compatibility mode in preferences, default is windows I believe. I think I was about to start insmod’ing modules via adb since I could not get the softkeys to work via mapping the the sun4i files. The key must be in one of the many vendor modules included in the stock iView rom.
Do you know if that stock image from Iview is the one they pulled?
Okay, Iview has posted the new image. I am still getting the same error. I am guessing these things are going to have to go back to the seller.
756TPC Firmware
I downloaded the firmware image and LiveSuite with instructions but was unable to get it to work. LiveSuite would come up with a box with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. The instructions include a step to press the "back" button which doesn't exist on the 756. I had flashed a 760 to ICS a while back so I tried that version of LiveSuite. It included button captions in English. It also came up with the yellow triangle but the caption said "Invalid image file". I sent this info to one of the IView techs and am waiting for a reply. If anyone has any updated info I'd be grateful to hear it. Thanks to all for all the info.
That is what I am getting. Iview had posted they were updating the intructions. I have yet to see them.

I think I am giving up. I had sent in an RMA to 'nova unhatched chickens' when the thing originally died. They peeled off part of the serial number on the back of the tablet and broke the charger dongle. Then they shipped the broken thing back saying they could not verify the serial number on the tablet even though the serial number was also on the back of the glossy Iview box. After that, I contacted the credit card company to cancel the transaction.
Hey, I have this tablet also and it runs so horribly slow. I was looking for a way to get cm10 on it but after reading this thread it seems like that won't happen, let alone cm9. Most of these chinese tablets are clones. Does anyone know what 756 is a clone of?
I found that this tablet may be similar but I can't find any files for it on the web.

Edit:
Actually I discovered that it is a clone of a tablet called LY-F1.
Don't have time to look it up now but apparently there are several roms for it.
I actually got cm10 running on my 756tpc! But then I bricked it trying to fix the auto rotation lol. Everything worked except auto rotation and the touch buttons. I'll post how I got it running if someone asks.
im making this post for those that have 756tpc issues, and cant yet find much support. ( like me)
around 34(4 days out of warantee) days ago, i purchased 2 756tpc. they worked great, however one day, while my tablet was just plugged in to charge, i held the power button to power it down. After it came back up, the 1g of internal memory appeared totally full, and it said 0%. Also it said the apps on this space were like 80 megs or so. i must add that at one point i used system tuner to freeze a few apps, prevented a few user installed apps from auto firing, and moved a few apps to sd. as a final circumstance, the tablet appeared reset - nothing was installed, etc.
So, im thinking wow, i guess ill start over, well, no apk would install, because it thought the internal memory was full or non existant. when i went to hard reset, it would show the updating android screen, than go instantly to the laying down android with red exclamation point.
the tablet worked perfectly except for this. thats when i got on the livesuit path - well, at the time, not long ago, there was an image for the 756 on the iview website, which i pulled, along with livesuit. after figuring out that this image was fail(756TPC-20120903.img), i pulled the one they had listed for the 760, and flashed it on the tablet. this was how i discovered my image was bad, i initially just wanted to see if the 760 image would initiate -- it did, and it flashed. --for the record the image i had would just give a yellow exclamation popup with no text when i connected the tablet.
with the 760 image, the ram issue i was having was apparently fixed, and i had more hope. it was slightly different, rotation, nor cap buttons worked, but the tablet worked more than it did with the original issue.
so, after a few days, i called iview and an asian sounding tech answered - i explained the issue, and that i wanted the firmware. he told me that in 2-3 days the new one would be up on the site to download. he chuckled at the fact that i flashed the 760 image, and asked me what happened, and that they hadnt tried it yet. he chuckled.
so - after this, to continue on the "mission" -i saw kingofmyworld324 mentioned the LY-F1. after i saw them looking idential almost, and the same for specs - i didnt have to spend long before trying these images.
---
first i used ICS-Seby_8.04.7z - which flashed and showed an ugly boot screen before failing to load. i tried twice.
next i flashed :
4.0______20120315-a721-LF-y1.rar -its 4.0.3 ICS
works perfectly! -maybe even faster and better than the original firmware. theres a few small things that may differ, but -- niice.
problem solved.
i may or may not try the 756 rom if and when they add it back.
thanks!
