I have never been able to download files from posts here with regular browser. It starts download then fails. All roms have the same problem....must be the browser. I have to run either opera or xscope anytime I want to download a posted file here. Hosted files from links here work fine, but posted files fail. What am I missing here?

I have the same issue with the stock browser on TnT Lite 3.10. I will try those other browsers you mentioned.

I want to be able to download roms from mediafire on my phone. i can use megaupload, and hotfile, but not mediafire or rapidshare. has anyone gotten these sites to work from their phone and can give me a tip or two?

Just use dolphin browser. I use it to download a variety of files from a variety of sites.
firefox's new phone browser works great. also make sure you have an application like ES file manger or Astro to apply the .apk or files.
Or, as what solved the problem for me(still using the stock browser), in Astro file manager's preferences, tick the enable browser download. Im sure these other ways worked, but if you already have astro you wont have to download any new files.
I used to use Dolphin Browser just to download things from the internet.
Now I use xScope 6 to download and as my main browser as well.
Anyone managed successfully download files from rapidshare or similar sires?
All I get is corrupted downloads.
Any ideas?

Try using opera mobile for the times you need to download from those sites.
Why would it not work in any browser? Is your network connection ok?
the android browser has issues with rapidshare and the other file download sites.
as craigster said, if you really need to download from one of them, best to copy the link into opera, dolphin, or firefox.
I use Opera Mini!

dolphie gave me corrupt files as well. went to full opera browser.

I think something changed after the 2.2 update. I used to be able to download nzb files through the stock browser. Now if i try to download them using stock browser or opera, they download as a .bin file. I went into astro and changed it to .nzb, but it still doesnt work. Is the phone modifying these files so they cant be stored on the phone properly? I was surprised that I couldnt find any discussion of this by searching google. Also, when i tried download a .mp3, the same thing happened.
Can any one share the newest dolphin browser apk or at least the hash of the file so i can compare it with this hash: 05c14a3bcce8757ce463974a485cc16d from the file attached to this post since I can't post external links yet.

Ok so i have been trying to download this file ( http://powshare.com/t2/Hardwell-On-...-25.01.2013-www.edmtunes.com.mp3#.URN_zB02Yy4 ). Its a set from hardwell, nothing illegal. Tried stock browser, chrome, opera, dolphin, boat and lightning browsers. All fail to download the file. The only one that could successfully download this file was firefox. This happens to me with some mirror sites like mediafire (i can actually download from mediafire, but i cant remember more to give as an example).
Why is firefox the only one able to download this file? Since firefox can download the file, it is not a problem with my Nexus s right?
I am using hellybean rom (based on cm 4.1.2)
