[Rom-Mod] AhmgskMod DesireNonSensev1 Rom [May 23]

HI friends! as u all know i hav exams starting 25th to 15th june.
i can't work on something new for now, becoz it would eat my atleast 2 days for building the rom.
so providing a simple alternative, i hope u all like it.
First of all thanks to pual, and lots of others.
i m using this rom since last few days. and its working awesome.
Details:
its based on ahmgskmod desire sense rom
it does not hav a2sd (avoiding till usb bricking issue is solved)
using stock kernel (u can use any other as u wish)
u get approx 140mb free space (max u can get) -> will try to unlock more
usb tether works awesome (htc default)
camera works 5mp.
using launcherpro (best for now)
using diff music app
removed htc rosie & rosie related apps
added android twitter app (best app)
Issues:
using 3d gallery dont use camera icon on top it force closes for now
I wont be able to give 100% answer to questions, senior members please cover for me.
-> cm605 will be updated after exams (sorry but it req lots of work)
-> same thing with froyo
becoz if i put my head in that i wont be able to write my exam.
if there is issue in upload let me know -> my net is not working properly so it might happen

Only had my desire for 20 hours, already want a new Rom to try. Guess this looks like a good start.

Does this also come with a N1 UI? In the screenshots it shows all the HTC black graphics (toolbar etc.). I'd really like a vanilla look as in the 2nd may release.

Can I somehow extract your camera fix and use it with the modaco online kitchen? It's really important to me to not have any HTC UI. If what I suggest is possible, which folders from your zip would I need to use?

Best ROM ATM at my opinion.
So I wonder how to replace the htc lock screen by the vanilla one...

to be fair i only went back for BT got a long car journey today and need to sync it to my car.
I managed to flash pays vanilla type rom but can't seem to get yours on.

Ah fair enough, I wouldnt bother working on it now tbh mate, stick with getting Froyo working properly 2.1 is advanced as it's going to get now.

Just downloaded and installed, everything went without a hitch. I like the Droid Peeing on Apple. I'll check back soon.

So how come the kernel says [email protected]_over?

would love to hear a few more reports of users trying this out? is this a full daily build. i mainly need bluetooth and camera, so BOTH cameras work along with all functional?

Linpack is roughly 37-40..running stock CPU speed, right out of the box, FPS2D is at about 29, WIFI works, front and rear camera work, fron camers goes to 8mp, Blue-tooth works, lookes like wirless tethering works, allthough I don't actually have anything to connect to it and test it, but it starts and runs without any errors. So far so good! Oh yeah, and very quick and stable.

ok. as long as its stable and bt and cams work. and of course texting. and word on MMS? also any screens from anyone. im about to just try it lol.

Didn't try MMS yet, have to wait until tomorrow.

The /system partition runs at around 230 and the /cache partition runs around 10. FYI: nfinitefx45 built the mtdpartmap.txt "mtd 245 15" and FR-boot INTO the ROM.zip flash (version 1.5.3). IMPORTANT: this means you have enough room to flash other mods to /system, BUT you would need to flash FR-boot after that, as per firerat S.O.P. Also, this means if you change MTD it will be overwritten if/when you reflash the ROM. You should be well versed on firerat MTD before moving forward.
NEW to this version:
1) odexed system boots in about 2 minutes home screen load takes longer lol
2) "HTC likes" app works
3) "HTC hub" app works
4) bookmarks widget now available (from HTC hub)
5) CPU boots into ondemand 245-729
6) native USB & wireless tether work - sometimes disconnects or reboots
7) GPS works (nav app still fails due to 3D)
8) long press power does not show reboot menu - use "quickboot" app for now.
9) native email app doesn't work for pop accounts - use provider apps.
10) Boot animation back to stock for now.
11) recommended app "spare parts" = set window and transition anim. to FAST
12) the ROM.zip is now edify, and signed - thanks nfinitefx45
The "list" continued:
1) 3D textures still not working - do NOT update google maps to 5.4.0
2) bluetooth still not working.
3) wifi works, random "error" fixed by a reboot.
4) camera still not working - don't get your hopes up.
5) model says PG06100, but apps seem to read hero200.
6) PRI not working - shows "not ready"
7) network still "unknown" - shows "no service"
8) HTC widgets work (sometimes you need to install more than once).
9) data transfers on wifi sometimes fail, but work on 3G
10) random FC on blah.radio.blah - ignore
...there's probably more that I'm forgetting...
nfinitefx45 built this ROM from source and merged the working changes from the OP. He is also now working on a new RUU source build which was updated, hopefully it will fix *some* of the issues
how i got the initial release
-ran his rom through the android kitchen on my linux box
-this got it to boot but alot of items did not work
-flashed the rom then the .35 kernel immediately following then booted more functionality was restored
-next i made a nandroid of the rom with the .35 kernel
-moved the boot.img into the working folder along with the libs from the kernel zip
- made a build.prop edit so that its looking for cdma instead of GSM
How to install(might be a waste of time)
wipe ALL, flash FR-recovery, wipe ALL, reboot recovery, flash ROM, reboot. It is also recommended that you have an s-off bootloader, since FR is a recovery modification. It installed fine for the testers, so YMMV. But be warned, bricks are your fault, not someone elses Also, the CPU frequencies are now 245xxx (needs to be fixed, keep reading) - 729xxx (careful, some phones can only handle 691xxx). You need an overclock method (setCPU, overclock widget) to change the frequencies to 264xxx - 691xxx.

i actually almost downloaded it for my old mt3g to see how good it was working but to me none of the sense ports on the mt3g were any good do to severe lag, and most of those were hero ports.

This one seems rather snappy just wifi doesnt work so it is rather useless to me its also why I don't have any screenies

Haha its alright its not a huge part of the OP I just want to see if data actually connects or works at all outside of just getting network time since it constantly reads no service

Make sure you included the wifi module from the 2.6.35 kernel zip.

Yep its in there, the kitchen gives me little luck with working wifi after using the kitchen, almost everything I have ported ends up getting the wifi broken

holy sweet mother of bejeevus this is smooth so far data works and wireless tether witch is what im using right now!! as for notfication leds and bluetooth do not work heres what i did.
first did a full wipe boot, data, cache, and dalvic.
second flashed the rom using the latest cmr from rom manager took awhile to copy all the files over.
took a few minutes to boot
3rd i went ahead and skiped sign in and turned off all the gps stuff
4th took awhile for sense to load but once it did its very smooth.
notes it says i have no service on the lock screen when clearly i do and i will test calls sms and mms in a few minutes.

done a bit more testing google sign in works market browser and package installer all work fine. however portable hotspot ofcourse will not work internet sharing and wired tether from google code causes full reboots. as for sms and calls both seem to be working fine. im vary excited for the future of our heroes so far we have this aosp and hopefully ginger miui coming this is freakin awesome lol.
sorry for the rambling but im freakin stoked!!!

Can you post some screenies, the sensors don't work so You will probably need to use the audio one or the timer but it should work

I really like the rom, i hope it really fix my wifi. Downloading right now.

Did you say wifi is working? Looks like I'm going to be downloading this in a short time. And modding the status bar hopefully

We have two different definitions of 'soon'.... but i'm working on this ROM every evening.

In do time no rush guy. I'd rather you take as much time in the world. Perfection takes time which we all have. I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work.

whats the pwnyourrace? I did install via cwm with no problem, it is really fast (2650 on quad) wifi works fine. Really smooth, front camera is working. Only found little lag on gps and mm messages are not workong. GREAT WORK!

The pwnyourrace version is just the download link that was quoted in flashing instructions. Messaging works for me, soooooo

I've found MMS to rarely work on VM regardless. Tried sending an MMS to yourself, while on 3G (not WiFi)?

MMS always works unless using a bad 3rd-party app; also gonna upload a gingerbread THEME of Princely ROM.

Princely ROM V2.7 is out with multiple Themes!!!

If PunkROM continues to evolve, I may stick to your Gingerbread theme just to call things even. Although personally I'm starting to like the variation of all the stuff you're making. Especially now that we're past just the original one

Edit: Is there a way to keep data from getting removed? I know your solution is an all-in-one but I'm really lazy

Well you can skip the wipe factory data part, but it you may get force closes later on....
Edit: Need screenshots I know... I need someone to do it for me till I get adb reinstalled.....

I flashed three of your ROMs in quick succession (just by, well... flashing them.) No FC's except on the Activate app.
Try the app just labeled "screenshot" in the market? It's either by gik or KastorSoft, I forget which. Comes with a shake-to-take feature and supports only rooted phones. (Edit: Found it. http://www.appbrain.com/app/screenshot/com.geeksoft.screenshot )
I would critique/review harder, except I lost the screenshots I took too D:

If you flash the without even formatting system, not good, formatting system is big step.

This fixed both my Camera and Google Talk that stopped working in Sense ROMS om 08-31-11.
FIX:
1. Go to Settings and select Date & Time.
2. Un check Automatic
3. Change the time to 08-01-11
4. Go and open your camera (it should work now)
5. Now you can go back and check Automatic in the Time & Date Setting
FIX:Camera & Google Talk

This is just a temp workaround not a fix, the problem will come back after reboot. what i posted is a solid fix to the problem

Sent using my thumbs on my SwiftKey X neon keyboard, synergy ran TB.

downloaded a zip patch from the synergy development thread, flashed it and now my phones back to 100% with the camera working again

gtalk works... but it doesnt help that my front facing cam is upside down

Yep! You can flash kernels; its probably my favorite thing to flash, in fact. What kernel depends on your ROM. Assuming you have Sense, that pretty much leaves you with Imoseyon's and DreamKernel. You may hear about Ziggy's but every bench test I've run so far suggests Imoseyon's and DreamKernel are faster.
Whether the kernel will fix your camera depends upon the ROM. If your ROM is old, you might not have much luck finding a kernel that's old enough as Imo and Nerozehl don't keep obsolete kernels posted. I'm kinda thinking you're ROM is from that time when that issue hadn't been ironed out yet, so flashing a new kernel will fix it.
I've put together a guide to flashing kernels in my [q AND a] thread. Check it out and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

So my Gtalk and camera failed on 1/22/11.
Tried both the OP file (found on rootzwiki) and the date trick. No luck.
Running XDABolt 2.1
Any ideas?
