I'm having trouble getting my HTC HD2 to run Android. I'm not sure if it is a data storage problem since my SD card is only 1 GB, or if it an unmatched Rom that i have, but here are some information if needed to know:
Radio: 2.12.50.02_2
Protocol: 15.40.50.07U
Rom: 2 Energy(?) 8G
This is what shows up when i first load windows. I have no knowledge of "rooting" or "flashing", so if there are anything that i need to do in order to run Android on my phone please let me know. To my understanding this is a off the market phone, so nothing has been done to it.
What i have done already is put the Android folder to the root of my SD card, and tried to run it. It loads up to the point where it shows the big HTC in the middle of the screen, but then it just stays there. I am only able to run Android 2.2.1 Froyo on it by following instructions on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5969936 , however anything else i tried it freezes at the HTC screen(Desire build, or other android versions). I was wondering if anyone can help me out? Big thanks in advance.

I am trying to switch over to Android from WM 6.5 on a HTC HD2 from T-Mobile. I've spent a lot of time reading about how to do this and deceided to give it a try.
I've been following guide by ThaDeanesta [GUIDE] Flashing Your First HD2 NAND Android Rom [For Newbs]:
1. Have radio 2.06.50.23 already installed.
2. Downloaded and installed HARDSPL 2.08.
3. Downloaded and installed MAGLDR 1.13. The aMAGLDR V1.13 Build: Feb 1, 2010 by Cotulla, starts up fine.
Here is where I'm having trouble. I downloaded "SuperRAM_Froyo_v1", extracted it to a folder. I have tried a number of things and hot sure where to go from here. Don't know if i should try a different RAM for my first attempt. I can see my MC in the phone thru USB MassStg. Tried copying folder to root and restarting phone. Just comes back to MAGLDR screen. Not sure if I'm doing this correct. I'm sure I am close to completing this for my first time but need a little help.
Thanks to anyone who is willing to help.
Jack
No, I unzipped it with jZip and then copied the folder to sd card. Then the instructions said to run CLACAD and haret from the phone. I was not sure how to do this. I just restarted my phone while holding down the volume and off. Connected my phone to the computer and ran the latest htc rom to get my phone working again. Phone has been down for a day. I still want to install Android. I'm not sure what CWR is?
Jack
Are you trying to install it from your SD card? Well..that's a different story then....go to your SD card root and tap on haret that should get you going
BTW ..
CWR =clock work recovery.
Thanks, I will give it a try. I wanted to load it thru the USB cable but couldn't figure out how to do it. From futher reading I think you can do it thru the bootloader.
I didnt see an obvious section for xdandroid questions, so i hope its okay to post a couple here; forgive me and redirect me if not, please...
1. I'm running xdandroid frx07 on my htc touch pro off the sdcard. Is it possible to swap sdcards while running the xdandroid system? im guessing no.
2. If I cant hot swap the sd card, then (this may be silly to some but I'm tired) are there any android specific files that can NOT be read by Windows Mobile 6.1?
3. Is it possible to install xdandroid to the device itself so as to free up the sd card for normal data storage and transport between devices? For instance, I would like to install it to "\(lowest possible dir)\xdandroid\" instead of "\sdcard\" ("I know I probably won't be able to completely over-write the WM6x OS, so Windows will have its own folder tree branch and xdandroid will have its own as well. I already have Haret in the WM startup list so I never see WM except for when I boot without the sd card inserted (Haret just errors out because it cant find the files to boot linux).
4. I also would like to know if anyone knows where I can find and turn OFF everything that actually uses or relies on the Sprint/CDMA cellular network (I dont have a carrier, I use it strictly on wi-fi as a miniature internet terminal/remote control for PC & PS3). I would love it if someone could direct me toward a generic/non-carrier branded ROM to flash, that would do the trick!
5. Just kidding; I won't write another question yet, I think these are good enough for now. Thanks in advance for any and all serious responses
Hey there,
The touch pro is in the legacy device forums, here is the rom link fyi : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171070.
You would be better off asking for help in that thread
Hello there
I bought htc hd2 second hand with windows 6.5 installed on it, but i did not like it so i followed some tutorial here in how to install android. i did that and i never been happier, however i was surprised when i run out of buttery and my device shutdown then recharge it and turn it on there was windows again and i had to do all the process again to lunch android system which drove me crazy because all the app's i already downloaded and installed on SD card were not working any more ...
So i have a few questions hopefully someone can help:
1. Is there any way i can uninstall windows from my HTC HD2 permanently and replace it with Android ?
2. If not How can i help my app's from getting lost?
3. what is the best way to back up my files and data before doing any thing new to my device?
4. since i am new to this system can any one explain to me what is the different between android, mglader and nand ? and what is latest version of Android?
I have a HTC HD2 windows phone.
I wanted to be able to use android apps on it i looked about and saw rundroid but not sure on what else i need to get it to work this will enable me to boot to both windows or android.
I downloaded it and followed to instructions but did not fully work, i think because i need to have a version of the android software on my SD card
I downloaded 2.3.3 gingerbread but still did not work, might not have it in the correct place or file extension ?
can someone tell me what version of android i should use and where i can D.L it from, and where it needs to be on my phone for the rundroid software to work fully.
thanks

I want to use the NAND option to set up new operating system
I have downloaded DFT_LEO_NAND_ANDROID, but when I run this I get an error, Read me.txt for this release is missing so it wont run
I have tried downloading a few other files with rom in but they wont load and I cant find the install.exe or DAF files to run them
NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta10.zip
HD2 Android\Dorimanx-Rom-3.1.9-Nightly-277-All-in-One.zip
