Had this once with my universal, had to pay 170 ,- € to fix that.
My wife could´nt understand why i had to repair it instead of buying a new phone.

My condolences.

I have a busted Touch Pro that with a good screen...the phone was run over by a car. Kind of mangled but powers on, cant make calls, everything else works but stuck in landscape. Funny thing is that the screen is flawless while everything else is about shot

same here man, got ran over by a car, everything worked except the lcd panel, i swear those Digitizers are strong or something cause they dont seem to crack or stop functioning easily

Yep, it's gone for insurance-repair.
How this happend? Just took it out of my pocket when I was in a bar and noticed the screen was cracked. It still could be an assasination

Unexplainable things happen to me when I'm in a pub too!

I'm a bit surprised some TP's survived car run-overs. I think it's worth the fix if it costs $150+ to fix when a new one is over twice as much.

oh jeez, do you keep the screen facing towards your leg when it's in your pocket? i usually keep it faced towards my leg now because my old phone cracked after hitting the edge of a table.

I don't really pay attention to which way it is facing, specially when i'm in a bar, being a bit intoxicated

I had the same porblem except my screen was not cracked. I had the same lines even though they were not so bright. So i sent my phone intor HTC for warranty repair and suprisingly they fixed it for free and sent it back to me just 3 days ago.

soo i hae a nexus one 8/10 i have the car dock box all wires chargers stiky things i also have the desk top dock, box wires everything. i also have like three cases and also i have an extray baterry cover and extra bottem piece. so what you think should put this bad boy up for? i want to sell before the nexus s comes out becuse then the demand wont be as much whatyou think

about 2-3 months ago i was getting 400-585 for mint condition nexus ones with the box.(usually 500 + easy)
im a phone reseller and was using ebay.
im unsure what the nexus market is like right now.
but if i were you, go to ebay, enter nexus one and see....
i wouldnt do a buy it not.
start the phone at .99 cents, no reserve and let it go for the full 7 days.
list it around 7 or 8 pm so it will end around 7-8 pm when more ppl are at home and not working.

good advice and i expect you will get at least 400 for it and as much as 500 with all the accessories you have with it.

They do hold there value. I got $350 for mine with a broken power button and no box.

Dead pixel/dust under the screen??

Im still awaiting a case/protection for my nexus 5, and until i have some protection for it its not yet my main phone, however ive been using it at home, and ive just noticed a mark under the screen, which could be a dead pixel or dust

outlined in red ( phots not that great but you can see the mark that doesn't move regardless of whats on screen) - highly irritating now i know its there, my eyes are drawn to it. would this be a RMA job?

Yeah, its kind of tough when it's near the middle of the screen like that. It really depends on how much it bothers you. Mine just came in the mail an hour ago and after playing around a little, noticed 1 small dead pixel on bottom right of screen. It's kind of gray, not black. But I'm not really noticing it, I have to really look for it and even then it's hard to see. My phone is otherwise perfect - no vibration issues, power button is solid, etc. I think I'll just keep it.

I have a speck of something in almost exactly the same place. RMA won't be shipped until December 3. Hope the replacement doesn't have this issue.

Its dead pixels. I had two of this massive dead pixels on my iphone 5 and the apple genius guys replaced it with a new one.
You should definately RMA it and get it replaced. I was planning to buy a nexus 5 myself but have been getting negative feedback on the speaker quality and the dead pixels issue hence I think I will either wait for the LG G2 Mini or something else.

just got a gear 2 and love it

bought a used gear 1 last week and noticed that the right side of the glass was lifted a bit, no worries i could still use it but then i had to charge it twice a day so i opened it and this is how my battery looked like

And once you put Android Wear on your Gear 2, you will be even happier
(if you don't care about the camera, as this doesn't work (YET) with Android Wear).

I really like my gear 2 but i switch between tizen and android wear

Im buying a gear 2 gold tomorrow and can wait for $120

Tizen as an OS is better in my opinion. I don't like the cards thing in wear, but tizen and samsung are just too much locked. With too few possibilities to sync with other apps or services. And then there is the apps and quality of watch faces. But once you get use to AW and the cards it's OK and I am not coming back to tizen...

1).remove all screws .
2).remove the cover.
3).carefully remove cables and take off the motherboard
4).carfully remove the iron off the motherboard(sorry for my English)

5).take a hairdryer in hot air and let it for 1 minute or two not very closer one in front one from rear
6).take all parts in place and you are ready to go.
P.S let it litle time to charge so the battery take some electricity .thats all

Technically it could work. Search "BGA Reballing" in Google. People has been baking desktop GPUs, laptop motherboards and mobile phone motherboards to re-ball the lead soldering balls that make contact between the mobo and chip. But I'm quite skeptical about hair-dryer. The heat might not be enough. Industrial heat-guns surely work.

It tries to do the same thing as the oven technique (which I tested and it works temporarily, for a couple of weeks, long enough to backup what you need) but it isn't as effective since the conventional home hair drier can't heat up the MB that high.
