Hey All. I figured I would do a video tutorial on how to connect the Nintendo Wii controller to the Viewsonic G Tablet. I connected it earlier today and it works great. This is just a basic tutorial showing you what you need and how to use it, but it does not go into detail on the specific options of the programs. Here are the programs that you will need to download from the android market to get started:
1. Romgripper
2. DroidEmuLite
3. WiimoteController
Enjoy!

anyone try this out yet? any issues or tips? Please post if you have found any.
Thanks,
scott
I actually knew how to do this already but the one thing that I'm not sure of is if we can play a two player game on this thing using two wiimotes? I see that the wiimote program sees both controllers but it doesn't do anything while using it in the SNES or tigermame emulators. Hope u can help. Great vid btw.

Epic. So glad I found this. Reinforces my thankfulness for buying this Tab.
can this also be done with a ps3 remote?
The Wii remote also works great with Quake as well. Pretty neat ability of the gtab.
I am unable to locate romgripper via the android marketplace or amazon marketplace on the gtablet. Anyone have a valid link to the apk?

Works fine on Brilliant Corners. Was using it earlier to play Legend of Zelda quest 2. Not using any guides so this is gonna take a while to beat.

Brilliant Corners? Is that a game?
Are you using stock? I haven't rooted my gtab. Was hoping it would not be necessary.
Anyone able to use the nunchuck joystick as a proper joystick with incremental speed for walking vs. running? I am only able to map up, down, left and right. I expect it's impossible, but it would make n64oid massively more fun.

Brilliant Corners is a ROM with a 1.2 bootloader by roebeet. It's a lot like Vegan Tab 5.1.1.
I'm using nesoid to play the roms & the wiimotecontoller app to connect the wiimote via bluetooth.

I was on version 1.0 and i didnt know what you meant by laggy ps3 control through bluetooth because it was perfect. I updated to 1.02 and now i have the lag you were talking about. It sucks because 1.02 has unlocked individual levels which i need but now i cant play with my controller. By the way for anyone who wants to update to 1.02, backup in titanium first so you can keep your game save because you will probably have to uninstall 1.0 like i did so the game will work.

Yea i wish i could do the same but ull notice that you cant play individual levels without updating. Also, if i were you id make a titanium backup before you beat the last boss(if you can ) because after i beat him all the individual levels were locked again. So i restored from that point and am now going around collecting the bonus cards. i just need 4 and 11 now and im all complete!

just wanted to give a quick update...the 1.04 game update fixed the sixaxis controller lag so its back to perfect, for me at least. I havent played in a while but now im back into it a bit to sharpen my skills and prepare for multiplayer online! Also im still looking for bonus cards 4 and 11 to complete my collection. If anyone knows where to find these let me know as my ocd is killing me. Apparently they arent in order with the levels either, making it that much harder
Not really sure how to do this ... I cant seem to input my information and login to the game but I can login my Gameloft account.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Not sure if your having the same problem i had. I could enter my info but the stock keyboard has no enter button and when you press back it goes to main menu. I had to install a different keyboard like swiftkey from this tutorial:

And then the enter button was there.

I would like to know this also
if your running cm7 or cm9 custom roms you will always be getting device not compatible for some reason. Other than that all i can think of is try this thread:

Or it may be the version you purchased.

Apparently it has Xperia play controls too. I think this has made my week (downloading now, I'll report when I have it running)
Update: downloaded (25MB apk) and played around with it (single player, no online (I have a terrible internet connection at home)) For being an early release, it looks good. I am definitely looking forward to repaying old memories with de_dust

You can also map the shoot button to whichever hardware button, I use the L Shoulder and the DPad to move, and look with the touchscreen. Even in this early beta stage, you can still play against other players on just your data connection.
How do you map the keys?
I am not able to access the page. Says I don't have the reqd permissions. Help?

I tested it a few days ago and it was way better than expected.
You can walk with the dpad, but all other Play controls are not integrated yet.
The game itself was smooth and lagfree (+30 fps), but the bullets are delayed a bit.
One thing that I really do not like is that there is an aimhelper, but thats it.
I think this will get a really nice port.
Hmmm...
Downloaded an old version 1st by mistake and it worked perfect.
But then upgraded to the latest (1.97) so I could use my Xplay controls...
Now it just hanfs on 'Map Loaded, Connecting' when I try to join a server....
Any ideas why?
It worked great on the older version (minus xplay controls).
Thanks/
So, like most of everyone with an HTC Sense based phone that does MHL out I have been trying since day one to play games on my big screen with my wii remotes as controllers. I have tried every combination up to date, and I can tell you that none of them worked.
That is until last night!
I installed the newest version of the stock HTC sensation rom repackged on deodexed by HdRevolution fam

There you go! have fun. I''m gonna go post this everywhere!
Can't wait to give this a try when I get home. Have you tried any of the other wii ime apps?
Thanks for the heads up.
I tried with one other app that actually told me that it couldn't connect to the device and didn't look like it was working. but I went right back to Wii Controller IME and started playing! Good Luck!
Oh myyyyyyyy......... I was actually hoping for something like this to give minecraft a shot.

Are you booted into the new Rom and using the correct Wii controller IME app? I am waiting for my buddy's Sensation to show up over here so I can fix his too. Then I will post again with my results. Make sure you flashed the required update to the phone listed in bright red above. Then full dalvik, cache, and data wipe. Then install Rom.
sorry i was referring to sixaxis controller.
i have never tried using a wiimote and MHL at the same time (i have used both separately though).. but i never knew there was an issue with using both at the same time? is it due to the bluetooth drivers?
also i cannot imagine using MHL to game with even if it did work with external controllers because from my experience the output through MHL has always been a bit laggy so i couldnt imagine gaming with it on current technology
I just tried the Android Revolution HD 6.5.2 and InsertCoin 5.1.5 and my MHL adapter works, but on the screen it says "Input Not Supported". (I use an Acer computer LCD with 1080p HD Resolution)
Could it be ROM related issues, LCD because it just works with HDTVs? I'm confused, the MHL adapter doesn't even have instructions.
I was able to connect the WiiMote on MiiUi and combine it with MHL too, (Works well with USB/BT Joystick Center in combination with emulators of older game systems.) however I have not yet been able to consistently use it with an N64-Emulator.
I wrote more about my many many attempts here:
miuiandroid.com/community/threads/pairing-wiimote-with-htc-sensation.16406/#post-123414
but it doesn't seem that anyone is helping there, maybe someone over here has an idea about what to do.

@astarman sorry I should make this clearer in the UI. There are two APKs, one for the server one for the controller. The reason for the two APK approach was so that you don't have to update the controller when the server changes and vice-versa. I'm more and more thinking this was a bad decision, since if even you guys are confused after reading that there are two packages and the instructions on the first start of the server app.
Server: org.anddev.aplay
Controller: org.anddev.aplay.controller
There is only one apk anymore, containing both the server and the controller.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.anddev.aplay.controller
link to the controller!
why couldnt you just post this in your title thread? clearer instructions would make it batter and more popular

I thought about that. I wish Google Play IAB would have a feature where you could bundle a couple of SKUs together and sell them for a price. That way I could make a "buy all games for $0.99" or so.
The idea is awesome. Looking forward to try it. And why I didn't tested it yet, is the only weak part I see, you have to have a tablet as a platform/main screen. Would be nice to have screen multiplied on the phones and the controls overplayed. But maybe this is to different from the main idea and programming. So no real offence. Just in this form - it is really great.
