[Q] deleted apps reappear - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Thanks to this forum I have successfully rooted my epic 4g and updated to 2.2 and its great. no problems once so ever. I have root explorer on it so I decided to delete some of the stock apps but when I do they keep reappearing like gmail, nascar and some others. Its strange they delete but when I reboot they just come back. I delete the apk file and the odex if it has one but they keep coming back. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Thanks anyway I found that I lost my root. Rerooted and now all is well!!

HTC Stocks app request (sorry in advance)

Hello all,
Been lurking here for quite some time, wanna start by saying THANK YOU for the massive amounts of info on here!
I have a request for the stock Stocks.apk app for HTC Sense on the Evo, or if someone could point me to a thread that has a link that'd be great. I'd vastly prefer not to re-flash my ROM, as I think it'd be quicker to just re-install the Stocks app... my HTC Sense has been crashing ever since I deleted it -__-
I'm on a rooted HTC Evo with the latest OTA update, if that info is necessary. Having huge amounts of trouble searching for the phrase "stock stocks app," haha. Too many similar words for the search to be effective.
if you are on a stock rooted evo then you already have it
if you deleted it, just open the rom you downloaded (it is a zip file after all)
and go into the system/app folder and take it from there and then adb push stock.apk /system/app
or adb install stock.apk
if you have a stripped down stock evo rom then your not on a stock rooted rom, and you can grab one of the many stock rooted roms and just take it from there.
Nah I deleted it like an idiot, and because I'm a noob I used unrevoked to root my phone so the stock rom is buried somewhere within that program, arrrg. With unrevoked I didn't have to start fresh from nothing, does this mean it does not flash a new rom in the rooting process? I'm only getting the occasional sense UI crash, but I didn't have any crashes before deleting the stocks.apk using titanium backup, so I figure it's too closely tied into sense or something. Also seems to be causing interferences with chompSMS and widgetlocker, just the occasional sense UI crash.

[Q] Pre-instaled apps don't remove

Hi to all,
I read many forums about and I didn't found solution.
I have rooted Samsung Galaxy S2. I have problem with removing some of pre-installed apps, they don't remove from my phone. After uninstalling with Titanium Backup Free in backup/restore list they disappear, but icon on desktop and apps remains. After reboot they come back in backup/remove list of Titanium Backup like nothing happened. I already uninstalled a lot of pre-installed apps but two of them don't want.
Also I tried with Root App Remover but it said syntax error unexpected: "(".
Any suggestion?
Best regards!
you have to root your device with the Customs ROM, search in forum.
Thank you for quick replay.
Is that the last option, flashing the ROM?
Right now I have XWKDD_insecure kernel, Android 2.3.3, Baseband XWKE4.
Could help XWKE7_original kernel?
Go to Market and download Root App Remover.
change rom
Root explorer, use it to delete from system/app or data/app.
Thank you guys, I done it. Without changing the ROM.
Best regards to all!
Also titanium back up is an easy way to delete any app on the phone quick and easy
woops didn't read post all the way please delete my last post and this one!

[Q] How to remove bloatware on unrooted inspire

Hey. I did a search and didn't find an answer to this question. I just got my Inspire last week and am still working up the courage to root it since it is my only phone, and I don't want to brick it.
So in the meantime, how do I uninstall apps that I don't want/ need that are on the phone? Things like blockbuster and friendstream, and stocks? The phone wont let you uninstall them in application manager, and I tried creating a folder to move them out of the /system/app folder so they wouldn't run on restart, but it won't let you move them either. And, of course, since it isn't rooted yet, Titanium backup won't work either.
Is there a way to get rid of these apps that I don't want that are stock on the phone?
Thanks!

Thats why we root, my friend. Grab the hack kit and jump in. There are stock Roms that are rooted and already have the bloat removed. And then you can try some other Roms... lots of good stuff out there.

Running the GB Stock ROM with BW removed. Works great!!!

reinstalling motorola apps

Hi!
I have rooted my Atrix and moved all apps, in particular several motorola apps, I really don't need to a system backup folder in case I need them. This procedure I have done all the way way with my Htc Hero and moving back the apps into /system/app has worked. Unfortunately this does not work with the Atrix. I think it is related to the deodexing of apps. Rebooting does also not resolve the problem and reinstalling with root explorer is also not possible.
Does anybody know, how to reenable those apps?
Thanks,
Michael

Anyone try the ICS Music app yet?

I got it to install after uninstalling the old then rebooting, but i get fc's when trying to play music. Anyone else have better luck than me? Im on prime 2.02 btw. Oh and to get it to sync you have to clear data once or twice until it asks you to sync your gmail acct.
Doesn't work... Apparently its honeycomb in general, I checked the Xoom and Galaxy Tab forums and they're having the same FC problems as we are.

I did, it's pretty nice...the layout of the playlist (if you have less that 5) is kind of weird...It looks a lot like the old one, but smaller icons and text...
latest Prime if that helps anybody...
i have the same problem, fc when trying to play music.....now the question : has someone get the original HC music apk to revert to the first one ? Just to avoid revert to nandroid or reinstall rom...thanks
Here it is. Pulled this out of Revolution rom. I think you will have to uninstall the ICS app and then reinstall the stock app with Titanium Backup in order for it to work.
Work around for the FC's, just hit shuffle all and profit
Wouldn't exactly call that a workaround... yes, you can shuffle, but anything else is still causing forced closes.

thanks a lot Getlaid, but i didn't manage to install it using titanium back up......(i'm using the free version), and a normal installation abort.....
Try deleting /system/app/Music2.apk with a root capable file explorer like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer, reboot, and then replace with the stock Music2.apk
Thanks! I think the power is in the reboot! Worked nicely afterwards.

I got it to install, but I don't see the login option in settings for music beta. (
Edit: fixed by clearing data, force stop, then launch.
