[Q] IMEI Spoof (Need Help!! Please read) - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I am new to this site in terms of posting. I appreciate the hard work that all of you put in to filling the community with all your knowlegde and helping those of us with very minimal understanding of programming accomplish things we would otherwise not be able to.
Which brings me to why I am here; I am in the US Military and currently stationed in south korea, i have a samsung captivate that i would love to use on the SK telecom rather than buy a brand new smart phone. I have a prepaid sim but after doing some reading SK blocks all IMEI's that are not in their database (a.k.a. foreign phones). I was wondering if there was a way to spoof my IMEI to say a cheap prepaid phone I get here in order to use my phone on something other than WIFI.
Again I appreciate any input you guys have and solution would be great but I don't expect you guys to break your backs over something that you may never use yourselves.

you can.
dont ask about it here though its illegal and against the rules.

thank you for the quick reply. i didnt mean to request something that was against the rules. admin can go ahead and close the thread if they so choose.

Super Sim Clone and others

I have searched thru these forums trying an many combo's as I could think of and couldn't find it so hopefully this isnt a repeat set of questions.
-In the Bourne Supremacy, Jason Bourne makes a copy of somebody's sim card which allowed his phone to be on the same call as that person at the same time. All the references I can find to sim cloning state that the second phone must be switched off (or it causes some kind of problem?). So is there any such way to do that with GSM? The only reason I ask is because I work for a CDMA service provider, at sometimes during an ESN swap/upgrade the system will not release the old ESN. The result seems to be that both phones ring at the same time (Though only one can answer). Basically can it be done or is it movie magic?
-During my searches I saw many results for IMEI cloning. Im not sure if I understand why you would want to do this. Some ppl wanted to trick a service provider into giving them service, and I guess some wanted to use a phone that had been banned on a network(?). But really other than using a stolen or banned phone, whats the reason for the popularity of this issue?
-Also I unlock every phone I get, and it looks like there are many US AT&T users here that use or need unlock software. AT&T's general policy nowadays is that they will supply you with the codes for no charge. Just call in and say you bought the phone and will not be using their service. Basically no question asked. Tmobile will give you the code after 90 days with active service, and might give you the code if you arent planning on using their service. So is there another reason for unlocking the phones thru software as opposed to just getting the code? (Is it better, does it do more for you?)
And not a question but a huge, THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you guys for doing what you do. VP3G's 8525 ROM is awesome (^_^)y

Possible to unlock Verizon DROID Razr?

Hi all, I've been doing searching to find a solution to this and frankly I am overwhelmed. I am very good with computers, but technical cellphone jargon confuses me since I don't know what much of it means (I have never been into cellphone modding or hacking).
Is it possible to unlock my Verizon DROID Razr? I bought it as part of a 2 year contract, am looking to drop the contract and switch to a less expensive provider. The model number is MOTXT912-16, if you need any other details just let me know and I will provide them. I am also located in the USA.
If it is possible to unlock this Verizon phone (so I can insert a T-Mobile SIM for example) I'd like to know how the general process works, and where I can find a guide. This information will be very helpful to me, because I've been reading some people that say its possible, and others say it isn't. Thanks!

[Q] Help w Unlocking Motorola EM326G from Net10

Hi,
I'm hoping that someone can help me with this. I recently purchased Motorola EM326G from Net10 as a prepaid phone. I only needed it for my parents during their 2-weeks visit. Now that it's not needed anymore, I want to give it to my friend, who is using a half-broken phone because he cannot afford a better phone. He is on AT&T. So, naturally, I called Net10 and asked for the unlock code. Well, first of all, I spoke to like 4 people from there, and none of them seemed to truly understand what I was asking for. Even after I explained to them what the code was for, they just kept giving me BS answers such as "We don't have that feature" "We don't have the capacity to do that but you could call the manufacturer to see if they can do that for you." So, I called Motorola, and they told me that only Net10 was able to provide the unlock code, which I agree with. Motorola also confirmed for me that this phone could indeed be unlocked and that all it needed was the unlock code (it can't be done my ass Net10).
So, as you can see, I'm stuck, which is why I turn to you geniuses on XDA. I tried using those online paid unlock services, but they don't list Net10 in their provider lists. Can someone please help? Perhaps, if it's not possible to obtain the unlock code, is there a way to hack/root this phone or install a different firmware that may allow for it to be used with AT&T? I'd appreciate any help/advice I can get. I'd rather not just toss this phone when my friend can benefit from it.
Sincerely,
GT

[Q] REMOVE CLEAN SPRINT GS5 AS BLACKLISTED FROM BEING ACTIVATED BY MVNOs?? READ ME!

So I have a BRAND NEW, CLEAN, IMEI for this Sprint GS5. It is NOT stolen, or anything in that nature.
I have service with a company called i-wireless that runs off of Sprints 4G Network. Just type "i wireless sprint network byod" into Google to find this, Im new so it wont let me post actual links until i have done 10 posts, sorry <<
When I got the Sprint GS5, my every intention was to activate it on my i-wireless account with their "Bring Your Own Sprint Device (also known as BYOSD)" Program.
Well, come to find out, Sprint actually BLACKLISTS their newly launched devices from being activated by their MVNOs (mobile virtual network operator) such as i-wireless, FOR 1 YEAR FROM THE LAUNCH DATE OF THE DEVICE!!!!! Very Very Frustrating! To find it in google type " prepaidphonenews dot com banned phones tracking sprints blacklist:" sorry not being able to provide actual link.
I do not wish to do anything illegal. My question is:
My device is currently blacklisted from being activated by Sprints MVNOs, is there anyway to remove my device from this blacklist?
I'm not sure if unlocking my device would remove it from the blacklist, or what I can do to remove it manually. My device is brand spanking new, never once been activated on a sprint account or anything.
I am open to any ideas, other than changing my IMEI because, well, its a clean IMEI. Its blacklisted cause its fresh in the market, to put it simply.
I am kinda tech savvy when it come to phones & computers, but honestly I have been on Google non stop for days only to be left hopeless on finding any sort of resolution.
Any Help in the right direction would be so greatly appreciated, please & thank you!

My guess if Samsung or Sprint will not do anything then there is nothing you can really do...Could always try something other than i-wireless not sure what other places that will allow you to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

This so called "Blacklist" is just a list of current IMEI/MEID numbers of current new sprint devices. Theres no unlocking, or anything you can do. Not legally anyhow, And from what ive heard the illegal way some used to use, now renders the S5 to have NO SIGNAL after doing so, so that would seem to be pointless as well lol. All you can do is either sell the device and recoup your money, or wait the year. I was in this boat when the Evo 4g came out and i wanted to use it on Boost lol. Sucks, but it is what it is. IF they didnt do thtis, people would just buy up the phones and use them on prepaid carriers in most cases causing sprint to lose revenue in the long run.
Good luck, sorry you found yourself in this situation as many (including myself) have.

[Q] Questions about No-Contract phones and using them without carrier

Hello, everyone. Thanks for having me.
I'm interested in acquiring some cellphones. I live outside the U.S, and I just want the phones for multimedia, internet and apps related usages, so I don't really need any carriers for the phones, not even in my country, that's why I find these No-Contract offers very good budget-wise.
But then there surge some questions,
*Are these No-Contract phones locked so you can't use them without activating them with a carrier? I mean, maybe something like not going past the start screen if they don't have a valid sim card on, or requiring one-time-activation or something?
*Can I use wi-fi with them with them, or is it subjected to activation with the carrier?
*What about rooting? Are the carriers selling the phones relative to the rooting/ jailbreaking process?
I know my questions might be noobish, but I'm just making sure before buying. You see, I've seen questions like these on Amazon with different answers, which has led me to this confusion and lack of assurance. I myself own (and even jailbroke) a phone from another country I use without carrier, though there are still specifics I'm not sure about yet.
Thanks in advance.
Android 5.1 offers an option to bypass SIM activation for sure ^^
I think it can be bypassed even on stock software!
