ftp server - can't connect from other device - G Tablet General

I can run File xpert and get the ftp server going but cannot seem to connect to it ffrom another system. Using the latest stock OS but I've applied the market fix and other changes. I have tried 2 different ftp servers and can't connect to either. Ideas? Is there a firewall enabled?

Need Getting Started CD

OK, a search on this gave me everything so I have to start this thread asking for a copy of the Getting Started CD. Sorry if it's already been discussed.
I can't get my pda to sync via usb. I deselect the "Enable advanced network functionality" and it still doesn't connect. Can someone post it or does anyone know where I can download one online? I'm hoping it has the correct drivers (Vista 64).
For vista you don't need the getting started CD... only the Windows Mobile Device center installed... also after the initial connection the Windows update should download it autimatically.

That's what all the instructions seem to say. I've uninstalled the existing devices, connected, installed, disconnect, uninstalled the device, install, etc and I still cannot get my pda to connect via usb. Can't seem to figure it out.
Check if activesync (on the PDA) connection settings... It should be set to connect via USB... Also you can download the WMDC from the M$ site...

Yeap, did them both. To get USB as a cradle connection option in ActiveSync in the PDA, I have to select the "Enable advanced network functionality". However, if I do this, I cannot make a connection. I remember when I had my HTC TC, I had to deselect the "Enable advanced network functionality" in order to sync via USB. But when you do this, you don't get the option to sync via USB when cradled.
I think I'm missing the USB modem driver. I'm found the zip file but I'm still looking for installation instructions.
And I think you should reinstall your OS, because there are some serious issues on your side...

OS meaning PDA OS? I did that 3 times, twice with cooked WM6.1 and once back to WM2003. I was able to establish connection with my factory WM2003.
nah... I ment the Vista (did I mention a hard reset anywhere?)... in my school, we have several verisons (ultimate, business,...), i386, x64 alike and we didn't have any problems like the one you described...
Worth a try...
Try download and manually (instead of through Windows Update) the Windows Mobile Device Center v6.1 update for x64 versions of Vista.
Visit this link to download them:

Yeap, did that too. Thanks though, it's appreciated.
I wonder if it's my firewall settings. Time to explore that option. I remember the old ActiveSync sometimes required manual fixes to the firewall.
Guys - I'm going to end this thread because I guess the thread title doesn't accurately identifies my issue and I don't want to double post elsewhere.

Download Wifi Certificate to install

I'm trying to connect my HTC Desire to my university's Wifi and I'm running into the common problem of the security certificate issue. (After connecting says there is an issue with the certificate, then after continuing get connecting error.)
The problem I'm having is that I can't get the certificates any other way, are the certificates stored on the phone somewhere, or is there a way I can force them to be download or something along these lines?
Thanks!
I had used my work wifi settings for linux (including manually creating a .pem file & editing wpa_supplicant.conf file to connect . Check if linux instructions work

No reason why not, if one is running a ftp server and the other a ftp client this should work fine

[Q] Android PPTP Server

Sorry for send this message but i have a friend with problms on a rocketchip device.
This rocketchip device has a Android ROM and He needs to connect an Windows CE in this rocketchip device.
This proccess on Linux is easy. I need an ppp server on the server and when i plug the usb the ActiveSync call the ppp server, receive the ip and the connection is established.
The problem is, we need to run a ppp server on Android like i do on Linux.
Anyone knows if this is possible ? I need to compile the pptp to run this ?
I try anything about this : https://afewe.wordpress.com/android-arm-development/use-point-to-point-protocol-ppp-in-android/
But i believe this is not the solution .
