Why so many certificate security warnings? If I view the certificates, they are issued by Microsoft or Verisign and are not expired. I do not get these warnings when I view the same websites on my Windows machine.

Which firmware and browser are you using?
Can you provide some links where you get the problem?

Here is one that I saved: https://forum.sel.sony.com/viewforum.php?f=43&sid=6aaf2ce9ef74a365e117d32e8568d771
I had several others that I encountered but I don't remember them.
The site above show the invalid certificate with both the stock browse and with Dolphin Browser HD v4.2.
My tablet is stock with update 3389. I remember this issue ever since I got the tablet on November 30.
That error is saying that the cert for the CA that issued the forum... server cert is not in the keystore that the browser is using.
Have you tried Xscope browser? I just tried with that and no cert error.
I'm not sure where the keystore is for default and Dolphin browser.

I just installed xScope 6 Trial. So far no certificate problems. Let's see if the second go at it I'll like it more.
Thanks.
Aargh. It looks like the keystore on Android is a "bouncy castle" one. I just got keytool working with that provider, copied the cacerts.bks to my Windows machine, and dumped the certs. It looks like that "G2" CA cert is not in there, which is probably why you get the cert errors. Probably both default browser and Dolphin use the default cacerts.bks, whereas Xscope uses its own CA keystore. Just a guess...
Jim
P.S. Might want to ping VS support, and suggest they add that SubCA cert to the cacerts.bks for the next go-round...
I haven't tried this myself, but this has procedures for importing new CA certs:

Ok so they give us a password to connect to the wifi, then from there if you are on a laptop then browser automatically opens and you input a user name and password...this then connects you. I'm not too sure how to do this on my Jasjar, do i manually configure? How? Where do i input username and password because the browser doesnt automatically open for me. We are trying to connect using phones, iphones, and my ppc. How do I connect??
Thanks for reading.
Do you know what kind of authentication used in your school? It's 802.1x? Do you have to install a certificate? Try to find out more information...
Open a good browser(say opera) and try opening any site on it. This is most likely the case. You'll be auto-directed to the page where you can input the user-id and password
I have similar problem.
The VPN solution that is used needs users to authenticate via xauth, which is not supported by WM.
Does anyone have a good proposal for a client to use?
If there's no free solution I don't (really) care about the costs.

Thanks for the links
I tried to find some proper software myself, but apparently i did something really wrong!
The decription of the NCP Tool looks promising, as it should include everything I need. I'll give it a try (could take some days) and tell whether I've been lucky or not...
I downloaded Opera so i will try with that tomorrow...I cant understand German so i cant understand that link and cant download. Will see with Opera anyway, thanks.

You don't need to
First, on the german version of the NCP homepage youget to the downloads by clicking Downloads, then choosing Software, then the Client, that's also named english
If you can't figure out how to set up he account needed in german, just click on the little American flag in the upper right of the screen
It's present on the homepage and the downloads page.
The second link is just an instruction anyway, except for the link to the SecureW2 Client. You should find the (english) homepage of that via google. You don't need to bother downloading that if the authentication method isn't 802.11.
Thanks mate, but I tried with Opera and it works!!! Now to find a way to access msn!!

You can allways use online live messenger http://mobile.live.com/pocketpc/
Been looking for a way to get it to work at college as well.
Have got no idea what do cause we use certificates here, have one on my ppc and installed it (on sd as well as the device).
Got practically everything filled out except when selecting a certificate i get the message that there is none.
Been trying to consult the It-services desk but they have no experience whit this.
Do you have any idea which steps i should take?
Thanks in advance
Online messengers are blocked also, they use some burst filtering software or something, will check to see if i can find an unblocked site. Would be great if there was a way to allow everything. Thanks lads.
Why is it that Opera on my Fuze (Stock ROM), running 3G, doesn't open http://www.google.com/news. I get a "The requested page can not be displayed" error. Other websites open just fine. If I put the phone in WiFi mode then the website opens as normal. Why would going through 3G keep this particular page from opening? Can you guys open that page on your Fuze with 3G? If I use Opera Mini the site open as normal.

Have you checked to make sure your device is not running through the proxy? Check Settings-->connections-->connections-->Advanced--> medianet-->proxy
Make sure the box is unchecked that says "this connection uses a proxy to connect to the internet"

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that was one of the first things I looked at. Yes, it is unchecked. The only check mark is, "This network connects to the internet". The box below that is unchecked (Proxy).

How about "remove hidden proxy" cab? It's in my sig if you don't have it.
Go into Opera and type "opera:config" into the url bar. Go to the "Proxy" section and uncheck "Use HTTP" and "Use HTTPS". That proxy wreaks havoc with HTML not meant for mobile browsers.

On my Fuze, in the Tools folder there is Disable Proxy and Restore Proxy function. I've tried both of them and still couldn't get that website to work. Are these two programs the same as the one you recommended?
What Drachen said will fix your problem. It is the AT&T proxies that are causing it not to work. Just be aware if you need to access Media Net or Cingular Video (any internal AT&T site) you will want to re-enable the HTTP and HTTPS proxies.

Interesting problem. I've tried disabling the Proxy with the Icon in my Tools folder - didn't work. I then downloaded the Cab file from "scotchua", thanks. But it still didn't work. Not sure what else to try. As a side note, when I use the Disable Proxy program Internet Explorer no longer works. I have to re-enable the Proxy in order for that to function.

Glad to help. That drove me f'ng nuts for the first two hours I had the Fuze. I use the iPhone version of Google Reader as my main RSS reader on Opera and I was just about to cancel my brand new contract and take the Fuze back to the store before I saw that proxy setting!

This Disable Proxy program disables the proxy for Pocket IE but not for Opera (which is now setup as the default browser on the Fuze). What you are probably seeing when you run the disable proxy is that PocketIE is not working as it defaults to the Media Net homepage which you can't get to if the proxy is diabled.
What you need to do is follow the instructions from Drachen to disable the proxy from Opera so you can get to the sites.

Thanks for the explanation, that helps. And yes, Drachen suggestion took care of my problem. Thank you.
I have a Touch Pro and have flashed a ROM based on eRice's Kitchen. I get an error when I setup Exchange SYNC of 85010013. It seems to be related to a security check.
It works on the Stock Rom before Flash and after a Flash back to Stock.
An extensive Google search showed that there are multiple people that have this issue but no solution.
Common Symptoms
-WM 6.1
-Exchange 2007
-Strong Security on Exchange server
Some thoughts from threads around the net
-"that the "Device not provisioned" is causing it, and more specifically the Remote Wipe functionality. Assuming that your organisation isn't willing to not implement this on every phone containing business data, a workaround is needed."
- this error comes if the DeviceEncryption.dll and its related registry entries are missing.
- That problem may exist if the developer has removed Enterprise from the ROM. Those modules are needed for the Exchange syncingSome people wrote me an PN that the problem is:

Looking for some ideas.....

Might sound an obvious one but have you tried disabling your proxy server on the GPRS connection?
Or...
Or you are using the wrong settings in 'Connections'. I get that error every time I try to sync after flashing until I change all settings to to MEdiaNet and then yes, remove the proxy option. After that, no more errors! Let me know if that works!
And the 'sync fine with the pc' comment proves that it is not your profile (which is also a possible solution).
Wow... I'm a 'Junior Member'... I feel like I'm naked and everyone's looking at me now...*SLAP*!
Hi Vertigo
How do I remove the Proxy Option?
There are MANY MANY options to do it, and (as senior members require me to do) I'm obligated to tell you to search for RemoveProxy.cab and follow the link below. Enjoy! Glad to help. Hey, and I'm up to post number 5 now! I'm almost a mod!!
http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&...m=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=remove+proxy.cab&spell=1
....or.....
Go into Start>settings>connections(tab)>connections
Click on "Edit My Proxy" or something along those lines, untick the lower tick box and then cycle your connection if you need to.
Ive ALWAYS had to do this since tmobile(UK)'s proxy kills almost everything....and since im on wnw+ id like to take advantage of it

About 2 days ago, my HTC Fuze started having trouble accessing http://m.gizmodo.com (and any other mobile Gawker site) from Opera Mobile. I can view the normal version of Gizmodo just fine and the site will open in Internet Explorer, but when trying to access it in Opera, I get the following message:
"The site is currently unavailable; please contact the system administrator."
Any idea what could be causing this? I tried deleted all cookies, cache and history; rebooting the phone; etc., but nothing seems to have corrected the problem.
maybe it's a proxy setting thing

OK...so how do I address that? All other websites seems to be working just fine using Opera Mobile. I reported the problem on gawker's support site, but it seems to be community driven, so I'm not sure I'll get a response unless someone else had the same problem and was able to find a solution.
Just got the message also on my phone too, so I guess they don't support Australia either

Try to use mach5 browser.
The browser also support to flash10.1......
A working simple solution (at least it worked for me):
Delete "pref" file on APPLICATION DATA/SKYFIRE/prefs.
Then start skyfire using a wifi connection.
It works again, for both 3g+ and wifi connection.
I use a Htc Hd.
no it's not working on wifi deleting prefs
