So I bought my hubby a MyTouch Fender 3G...
I have unlocked it, and it is picking up a signal...
I have entered in the proper APN for both internet, and MMS
I just can't get past the Android sign in screen... It just sais...
Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services
Is there anyway that I can bypass the welcome screen where we have to sign in with google account???

Hey guys!
I installed OpenEclair-v1.1.4 firmware 2.1 on my HTC Magic on sunday.
Works fine except the camera doesnt function properly - just a black and white checkered grid and I cannot seem to get a 3g connection, or even a 2g connection to the data service with vodafone.
Is there a setting I need to change somewhere or do something to get my network access back?
Please help!
in the about phone seciton it does say Model Number : T-Mobile myTouch3G which of course is not what i actually own,,,,.
Thanks
Andy

What service are you trying to use the phone on?
Some services mean that you have to setup the APN yourself if the sim card doesn't have an up to date setting. I had that happen with some of my friends, takes about 1min to fix if that is it.
my friend is using t mobile
Hi, and thanks for reading. I'll be brief and clear as much as possible.
I am using:
Samsung Nexus S
Android OS 2.3.6 GRK39F
T-mobile US
My issue:
A secure connection (or https) cannot be established over 3G or 2G network.
it works fine over WiFi access.
Additional Info:
I used to have H2O wireless which uses AT&T's 2G Network, and I didn't have any problem like this.
Contacted T-mobile tech support and set APN settings as instructed, but still did not work.
This issue results in:
The phone cannot use Google services (Gmail, Market, etc.) native to the phone as well as apps that require authentication (facebook, twitter, etc.) over 3G or 2G network. In order to get around this, I have to connect to WIFI first to authenticate then it works fine over 3G or 2G.
Thank you again guys, and I am looking forward to getting your professional help.
T-mobile's new Monthly 4G plan may have a problem in their Data Network??
Actually, I found out that it's not my phone's problem, but it could be the problem of T-mobile network.
I've found a thread in t-mobile support page where a bunch of people complaining about the same problem.
They all bought t-mobile's Monthly 4G plan that just came out (Oct 16, 2011), which offers 100min talk, unlimited text, unlimited data (with 5GB throttling)
They are complaining that they cannot get https connection over 3G or 2G Data Network regardless of their cell phone.
I tried to post an outside link, but the forum does not allow me since I am new here.
This issue has been resolved.
The link in the prior reply now shows a solution to this issue.
Virtually, the "Web Guard" feature on the plan was causing the mess.
You can turn off the feature by yourself on tmobile website, or by calling their customer service.
They say it may take up to 2 hours for the action to fully take effect.
Hi,
I have htc radar 4g
Yesterday I popped in att sim card to unlock my phone and I have been using it for half a day. I used the htc connection setup to get mms working and internet.
After half a day i switched to tmobile sim card and I used the htc connection setup again to set setting to tmobile
Now I can't use internet sharing on my phone
When I try to turn it on i get:
"Connection not shared
To enable tethering on this device, go to att.com/mywireless or dial 611"
Anyone knows how to get rid of it?
I use tmobile prepaid and this has been working before I unlocked my phone and used atts sim card...
any help appreciated!
Give it a couple days to re-provision the Internet Sharing restriction (shouldn't take more than about 24 hours). AT&T wants people to pay extra for tethering, and your phone must have picked up that restriction while it was on their network. It *should* go away on its own. Try rebooting the phone again if it sticks around.
If you were on a slightly older phone, I'd tell you haw to bypass the restriction entirely, but unfortunately we don't yet have a way to provision custom provxml files on the Radar (or other HTC gen2 phones).
will see,
i will give it a time to saturday
but this is what i did
1. made a backup on my mac
2 restored to factory settings
3. checkked ineternet sharing
it works fine
4. restored my backup
5 sharing not working
so i will wait until saturday/sunday and see
I have the exact same issue. Any solution? I'm overseas and can't use the internet tethering function which is one reason I bought this phone!
