Dungeon Defenders FIRST WAVE - Now with Cross Platform Play - Android Apps and Games

So who's got it? What a great game. I've just upped to level 3 and it's addicting for sure. The only thing is the game menus are upside down lol. Frame rate wise, running very smooth on my Vibrant with Nero 3 Going by the same name in game.

runs chopy as hell on my evo but still playable...hopefully they can optimize it some more and also that gingerbread helps some...

well i'm still downloading the huge amount of files needed lol. will edit the post ;p
edit: it's running awesome! smooth as silk. now i need to get some sleep...

Yeah, technology especially in the gaming realm moves fast. We all know the only reason we upgrade our computer is to catch up with games lol.

It's running decently on my Evo...And I doubt this is a hardware thing. I think they'll push an update soon

I'd like to get this one but not sure how well it will perform on my N1. Hopefully, we'll get more reviews soon...

nice, what rom are you using, I see people complaining in the market about how it's pretty much a slide show on the evo. you should give em some advise as to what rom to run lol

Really? Smooth as silk? Doesn't run like that on my GT-i9000 with Darkys ROM..

Runs great on my Vibrant(Nero v3, voodoo). I downloaded a cracked copy to try it out(I know I know...but I'm not paying for a poorly made game) but like it so much I just bought it from the market and am re-downloading as we speak.
Is the sideway/upside down in-game menu on all copies, or just the cracked version? If it's going to be this way on the purchased version, I'll just get a refund and wait until it's fixed.

hmm.. you're certainly an exception then cause it should run smoothly. Our phones can do QUake 3 at 60FPS for crying out like non-oc'ed. You should be getting a buttery smooth 35-40 fps in D&D like the rest of us with sgs. Try reinstalling the rom.

Runs Pretty choppy on my phone. Turned the graphics down to get better framerate.
Don't like the fact that the menus are in portrait when the game is in landscape. But enjoying it generally.

yeah bro you got a problem then cause it shouldn't run choppy at all even with everything turned up. u sure it's the sgs? i'm starting to think the i9000 devs can't program worth crap. i'm so glad for Team Whiskey lol. If i were you, i'd just go back to stock froyo.

Seeing as we have no benchmark and lag is subjective, how about we use the starting room fully zoomed out looking at the crystal as a test.
On my sgs it has a little slowdown, I would say 20-24fps
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

I really can't imagine that the ROM is the cause for the not so great performance. Besides, I have no clue how to get back to Stock Froyo even if I wanted to lol. Im with Android53 on this though that on my GT-i9000 im getting 20 FPS looking at the Crystal.. maybe slightly less.

Think I played online with you a second ago boodies. I'm jimbravo1(I think). Need to get some practice and leveling under my belt, but online looks to be great fun!
I don't know how many fps my vibrant gets full zoomed out, but it's very smooth, little to no choppiness ever.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

How do you zoom in? Zoomed out fully its a bit choppy.

Nevermind figured it out. Downscaling the video quality makes quite a difference in frame rate.

Plays great on my gtablet

Never mind. Always helps to look at options menus, doesn't it

i didn't know that you can lower the quality. but still it runs good on vibrant.

Angry Birds Poor Quality?

I noticed Angry Birds doesnt like the Hero...You can still play it but all the landscape is white and there are no animations on the birds like the feathers and such. Is this the same for everybody?
I got to say this game is super addicting lol
Yeah is the Same for me Here. But if you run Sense the program will FC a lot. I'm running CM6 and it runs great.
Currently on the First Level. 3/5
Task something to do with 3d drivers. Like I can run need for speed fine on my hero, but my buddy's vibrant shows up with wall textures white. The opposite of angry birds. Lol

CM6 here as well and no FC's.
I wonder if they will ever have a reworked version that will work on the lower end devices. I have a few buddys at work that want the game but there lower end android devices wont play it.
I am having the same issue in NFX 2.2.1 w/ friendstream, NFX Sprint Stock .7, and CM6 Blackmod.
Whew. Glad I'm not the only one. Android 2.2.1, CyanogenMod 6. Someone please help with this. It makes an already difficult (but really fun) game harder.

That's funny because I played it for four hours straight last night on Nfinite's stock odex and didn't have a single FC.
If I want to go to another ROM, is there anyway to save all Angry Birds Data, All level i have passed?
I was just about to make a new thread about this. I got the game yesterday from getjar.com, and compared to the iphone 3GS, Angry Birds looks and runs like crap on our Hero. I've tried on my NFX stock .7 ROM overclocked to 691, and on my girlfriends completely stock .7, and they both are the same.
Why is this? I've searched youtube and it seems to look and run great on other Android phones. As far as I know, doesn't the Hero have better hardware than the iphone 3GS? Can we expect a patch for this game?

Define great. Does it seem super smooth like it's running at 60FPS? Are you getting any missing textures (objects on top of white shapes)? Are all animations/effects present (like feathers exploding from the birds)? Have you seen it running on a 3GS?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-hjAY0XpvE
haha ok i see what you guys are saying, no i hadnt seen it played in the 3gs. Mine doesnt have the textures on the hills either. i thought you guys were having problems with it not operating properly like lag.
I was able to get the APK off getjar, but now I'm trying to find it on the market so i can get updates, and it's not there. any thoughts? even tried QR codes
running CM6 nightly builds.
noticed that yesterday... then got to the second level and cant get any further because I cant tell where there is a whole in the terrain. Disappointing.
Definately runs faster for me in CM6 than it did in Fresh 2.4. I didn't get any FC in Sense either, it was just laggy at times. Still have the texture issues though in both though. Mine was installed from a downloaded apk. I read some in some places that it was available from the market, but I couldn't find it in the market.
Does anyone have other Android phones they could test this on? I'm wondering if its happening only on the hero.

Angry Birds 1.3.5

I don't know about everyone else but when I tried to download Angry Birds off the market it couldn't find it so I googled it and found the apk.

It runs kind of slow on my hero CM6, like the lite beta, but it still works. This is the full version and it is pretty fun imo.

Um... No it doesn't cost money, its ad supported. Therefore I would Imagine Rovio would like it on as many smart phones as possible.

But the graphics are all off it doesnt show some of the things like certain rocks, wooden boards etc..... I was wondering was there anything I could do to fix this now she is running latest stock rom. Should i flash it and if so what rom would allow her to play the game correctly? Or do i need a special version or am i s.o.l?

It runs like it should now. Full animations, no funky background issues, and MUCH MUCH smoother than before. It's *almost* as good as playing on the EVO.
Also included in the update: 45 new levels, and a new bird.

CM6.1 with the latest CFS uncapped kernel. I'd say it runs more than 10 fps, probably closer to 20. By no means is it as smooth as it is on the iphone/ipod or the EVO, but it's FAR better than it was prior to the update.

I currently do have JIT enabled. Even before I enabled it, and was running one of the CM6 nightlies, i was getting better than 10fps. Maybe 5 or 10fps at the worst moments, but the game for me has ALWAYS been slightly choppy, I'd say around 20ish fps at best, closer to 15 usually. It seems to be running right around 20-23fps right now, don't know if there's a way to test it.
EDIT: to clear this up, prior to the update, when I couldn't see textures, it seemed to run slower than it does with textures/full animation.

[APP] Revised- Angry Birds!!! 1.4.2

Ok guys, I said I would look into improving Angry Birds and I did All ads are gone, and I optimized the app for better performance! Enjoy everyone, let me know what you think of it!!!! Also, please vote in the poll if you can! Thank you
Thanks to: Creators of the game!

It definitely seems to play better, but is still choppy enough for me to have a really hard time playing it :/ It's nice to have the ads gone also. If they release a paid version that works smoothly without ads, it would be a real winner.
Awesome improvement, though! Thanks!

No problem, glad it's better and that you like it This is probably the best we'll be able to get it to run on the hero with the hardware unfortunately, but at least it's better than before
While this may be the best we get, it just seems odd that that is the case. I mean, I've seen some pretty impressive stuff on my hero, and Angry Birds is not it It just seems like a lazy port to me. I've been playing Pandas Vs. Ninjas and it plays flawlessly.
It just seems to me that Rovio could make this much more accessible by reworking the animations, textures, etc. to work on more devices. This is not that complex of a game

True, and when the app gets updated I'll update the Impaled version as well
It's definitely better than the recently updated version, still choppy tho. Like Dassin said, I think they were just lazy. Hopefully with enough complaints Rovio will get it in gear. And thanks for making changes Impaler, I'll keep downloading your copy just so I don't have to put it in airplane mode to get rid of ads!
Seems to play better...but the Hero is too hardware limited to run it perfectly. Removed it from my phone and will stick with the iPod version to not waste time on my phone

Looking for the honesty please...

As you can see in my sig, I am on a Cappy with Gingerbread and a rom that is working magnificently. I have my Cappy setup exactly the way I like it and Netflix works like a charm. As a matter of fact, I am going on a business trip next week and look forward to chillin in the airport with my earbuds in watching a movie on the Cappy...
that said, I had really been looking forward to the Infuse. I was going to give it a week and pick it up tomorrow. Then I started browsing the new forum yesterday and noticed that some of you are reporting issues. Netflix also doesn't work. I was really looking forward to the front facing camera among other things... If I was to ask advice (and I would really like your advice), I would imagine some will tell me to just wait until an update comes out or the dev section really gets going. Any thoughts? Thanks for sharing.
I cant speak for the Cappy, but in the last 2 months I went from the iPhone 4, to the Atrix, to the Inspire, to the Infuse.
The Infuse is now my favorite phone that I have ever owned. It has the best of all of them combined.
Yes there are a few bugs, no there is no roms yet, but we all know that will come in the not far future. Get one now, and you'll get to enjoy it a little longer

Camera is very, very good. See engadget's review if u don't believe me.
GPS - flawless. When you're on the trip - ur cappy will make u furious driving around wasting time and getting tickets (been there, done that, sold that piece of ****)
Netflix - no idea, don't care
It's huge. Thing is a shovel, just attach a handle.
Screen - amazing, SAMOLED Plus, need I say more?
Battery life - so far crappy, but it's not broken in yet. Supposed to be better, since it's 1750mah.
Also, more RAM, enough to keep my Opera, couple of HD games and some apps open without need to reopen them when Android clears RAM.
Definite upgrade over craptivate. That phone was sweet, but non-existent GPS on it killed it for me. Stupid thing made me spend $$ driving around like an idiot.
Warning: I'm easily influenced by positive responses and may end up leaving for my business trip Monday with an Infuse in tow.
Just what I was looking for... Thanks for the responses thus far.

This is what makes me foam at the mouth. I played with an Infuse in the store yesterday and the 4G speed is ridiculous. Web pages just appear. The lack of a front facing cam is something that I thought should have landed the Cappy designers back behind the woodshed.

Oh and PS. I've had every single phone in the world honestaly, every generation iphone, nexus one nexus s HTC inspire, captivate, atrix, blackberrys, and now the infuse. I'm a phone junkie/addict. I always want the best and I always want the latest. I can honestaly say this is.the best phone I.have ever used and I love every little thing about it. I buy all my ohones off contract and soon regret it. I don't regret this one. If the galaxy s 2 or iphone 5 came out tomorrow I woildnt blink an eye. 4.5 inches samoled is magnificient! The thing is super thin super light and super sexy looking. This is the best phone I've ever had, and I know everything about phones they all have their flaws or get boring after a while. I'm still in awe at this bad boy. 4.5 samoled iis the new standard for me. Dual core is all marketing IMHO. This thing is faster than my atrix ever was

Good Choice!
I just got mine yesterday, i come from a Motorola Atrix 4G.
i can honestly say I LOVE THIS PHONE!
1. EYE CANDY! super slick and sexy. i would suggest a mirrored screen protector just for that mirror finish as the phone has gray chrome around it.
2. Massive screen. 4.5. i thought the HD2 was the biggest i would of ever gone. Super Amoled screen.
3. thinest smartphone. 'nough said.
4. it snappy, very snappy. i thought my atrix was fast with its dual core... this phone easily out paces the atrix in everyday use.
5. Touchwiz. the only custom UI that i have seen that does not slow down the phone like sense or motoblur.
6. 8MP camera. this phone carrier a really good lens on its back. i took dissection pictures of my cat at school. they look real nice. i would upload but idk the rules so yeah.
7. Long long battery life. well for me at least. this was under high usage texting music pictures and other stuff. words with friends... angry birds... you know.
thats pretty much it i guess. its a really good choice. and a really great phone. you will like it.

we have a samsung chipset. but it works on samsung with gingerbread. so no worries.
I also have a Cappy....actually use it now for my "work" phone, and have my new baby as my personal phone. I absolutely love the new infuse. Have been running custom roms like cm7, paragon, ff, you name it I've tried it... and loving this stock infuse more, than the Cappy any day. Its everything the Cappy should have been out of the box.

oh yeah true dat. hmmm idk who told me it had a qualcomm. oh well. same difference right?
it is too easy to get sucked into the rom frenzy with the cappy. and then the power of suggestion that the phone is laggy and such creates this striving for improvement constantly. i know i was there. my oppinion is that the cappy is not as bad as it is made out to be if you leave it basically stock. the infuse however doesnt the shortcomings of the cappy. it has both camera, a flash, unknown sources, bigger screen, better audio vs the cappy stock(slightly). same audio hardware, but better implimented or newer drivers. and the gps hardware is not marginalized. i have come to find out that tracking in google maps can be funky on any phone but with the cappys hardware it was a nightare untill you got the jupiter.xml all corrected and played with the settings.
the infuse is good out of the box but after putting some of my known good settings from the captivate in it was great. but then after trying agps settings full time it was phenomenal! this really is the best gps i have seen. it seems the hardware layout is changed. the gps seems to work during phone calls(didnt on the cappy, god forbid you are driving and someone calls you) as does the camera.
i got laughed at when i complained about photos in phone calls in the captivate section no one would work on it, now id bet it is a hardware limitation. now if im on speaker phone with someone who doesnt have video calling i can just text them pictures

Android Development

This is for the myTouch 4G Slide!
This is an amazing phone! I will definitely get one of these to replace my Desire Z
Looking forward to replacing my HTC Glacier
Me too! 10 char
Curious
I am thinking about buying this phone but being that's its so new... im skeptical. the reason being i want to know if i can add wifi hotspot to this phone after its been rooted
Even before being rooted you can do the wifi hotspot works like a charm!
Ill just let yall know. I have the mt4gs. It is sick. The keyboard is awesome, camera is awesome, no s-off yet but in due time it will come. Wicked fast. As soon as i turned it on i installed quadrant and it ran a 1995 right out of the box. Not bad. Imagine when we are able to overclock this bad boy. This phone has alot of potential. The only downside is that it is a little heavy. But you get used to the weight after holding it for a few minutes. Overall, im glad i picked this phone. Peace.

I love how heavy this phone. I feel like i can break other phones lol.
Agreed, I like at least a little bit of heft, otherwise the phone feels flimsy. I think this one is just fine considering it is a slider.
This is the best smartphone i've ever fked with. The photos are incredible. Operations are snappy ofr course.

i am waiting impatiently for an after market large battery from about 3600, like the mugen for the desire z/ g2.
the phone is awesome .
I also really like the default rom with rotating rosie and 5 change able icons in the dock.
camera app is awesome .
also filming in full hd looks pretty well

You dont have to use a hacked wifi hotspot. The stock one works. My wife works for tmobile and they tell you that there is a fee. But you can use it without the hotspot plan.

Yea man, it's almost unbelievable what you can throw at this phone and it still just keeps chugging away doing it's thing.
I've been impressed with it since before I got it, and since getting one it's exceeded all my lofty expectations.
Quite a few times i've been using it, and then when I slid out the keyboard surprised people by that, guess they weren't expecting that after seeing what I was doing with it.
I've been running around plugging it into televisions and playing movies at peoples houses and stuff which is pretty killer. Just about everyone i've met who casually owns an android phone and doesn't get into it like we do here has said "let me try that" and plugged my video cable into their headphones jack...but of course, no dice for them.
One thing i've noticed, after stopping in to just about every T-Mobile store around my area is that most reps have this phone, either in khaki or black. (i'm glad I have a black one though, don't quite like the look of the khaki).
All in all - probably the most impressive piece of hardware on the market at the moment, and has held up pretty well to some demanding field tests.
Can't say enough how much I like the phone - digging into it and running it through the ringer has become an almost around the clock obsession since root became available.
I've already gotten a few people in the process of switching over to T-Mobile just to get this phone, but the darned thing sells itself in all of it's awesomeness.
I like this phone more so than my sensation, mainly for its size and good picture ability. The sensation has a good camera too though, but the MT4GS's is a lot better and i like the dedicated button to take pictures. The build quality of this phone is nice too, it reminds me of what my Touch Pro 2 could have been with more ram and a better cpu.
