Hello everyone, today I received my Nexus, I turned on and after a brief check all was well. I turned off the phone to make a full battery charge and when I revived, I noticed a change: the market is back with the old layout, the sounds of confirmation and the keyboard is very low (although it's all up to in the settings) and when I turn off the display, I no longer have a cool animation. What happens?
Thanks for the replies.

Battery issue is normal
the NS does not have the new market yet
but when I started the first time the maket was new, I swear! with regard to the sound is strange that you are down with the battery charged at most. and what hits the battery with the disappearance of the screen off animation?
Only way to turn off the animation is if you turn off the animation .
I've had my battery running at around 4% life and the turn off animation still works.
I discovered the secret: If you select "fast" in spare parts , the switch off animation no longer.

I hate that notification because I use my phone for my alarm and it lights up in the middle of the night. Has anybody figured out a way to turn that notification off? I have looked and not found anything on the phone or in the forums.
If you can't find a way to suppress the notification, do what I do...turn the phone over. If you don't have the Body Glove case that lifts the screen off the furniture and are concerned about scratches, put it on a paper towel or similar item to protect it. I use a wash cloth.
would also like to know how to turn that stupid notification off - software based and not using a towel though
I don't know much yet but I was digging around in root explorer and if you go to /system/media there are a bunch of .qmg files for battery related stuff, and two of them are named chargingwarning.qmg and Disconnected.qmg. Could one of these be the file for the fully charged notification?

Probably not because the notifications are all text, and QMGs are the 3d files used at boot-up. Most likely those animations are used in the battery meter that is displayed when the phone is off (turn your phone off and plug it in).
This won't help with the light, but the sound can be fixed.

seriously? we are all STILL dealing with this? has anyone found a solution to prevent this notification from popping up?

It is confirmed fix in the 2.2 release - at least the JI6 build we are all playing with. They moved it to the notification bar.
Bumpage!
Been a lurker but just recently got my Captivate. Great forum here! Looking forward to contribute as well.
Well my issue with the "Fully Charged" battery notification is the display will stay on for the entire night. When I wake up in the morning, I see the phone's display on with the notification. Is this normal? I think this was happening just recently but I can't remember. Shouldn't the display turn off after the set amount time of inactivity? Thanks.
Nevermind, I figured it out. Within the development settings, the option to never allow the phone to sleep while plugged into the usb was checked. I wonder why that was checked.

Ok, I THOUGH disabling that option would put the display to sleep when the notification comes on but it doesn't. =(
Is this normal behavior? The screen stays lit after the notification is on? The only reason why i'm concern is if I'm plugging it in night after night and it's on that particular screen for hours at a time, there might be some burn in issues.

Not likely. It's not a rear projection tv or a CRT monitor. Burn-in problems died with those.

Guess you haven't seen some of the demo Captivate at your local AT&T stores. Seeing the burned in images on those beautiful SAMOLED screen just kills a little bit of me.
In any case, so it's normal for the screen to take on after the message notification comes on?

None of the models I saw had burn-in at all. I got my phone on August 30th of this year. The phone had been on the shelves since July. But I would imagine it's normal for the screen to come on.
I got my phone only three weeks ago, so the phone sitting on display has probably been there a long time. And yeah, samoled screen can get burned in. well guess I'll have to charge it during the day time for now until I can figure out a way to disable the pop up.
Oh my worry is that the screen might be in the on state with the same image for hours while I sleep. That's something I can't leave to chance.

As long as you're not using a Samsung Dock or have the Stay Awake option checked off in settings, it won't stay on. I watch my phone every night. It usually finishes charging long before I ever go to sleep (case in point, it's 3:11am, and the phone was done around 1am) and the screen always times out and turns itself off. It doesn't come back on either.

Ok, yeah that's what I figured. Thanks for confirming it for me. I do have that option "not checked". Something might be preventing it to fall back asleep.
Is there any log within the file system which might keep track of system events? I might have to do a little digging around.
Thanks for your input.

I don't believe there's any logs, but you might have some luck installing logcat from the market and checking that after one night

Charged notification PROBLEM SOLVED !
PROBLEM SOLVED ! NO COST !
I saw this suggestion in another forum and it WORKS, so I'm passing it on !
Set the global notifications to SILENT.
Set the notification on Gmail to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.
Set the notification on messaging to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.
You'll still have a tone when you 1st plug the phone in to the charger, but NO tone when it's fully charged.
Where are these settings? I can't find them any where.
Don't mind the message when the battery is low.
BUT. At nights I use Gentle Alarm and do not want the screen on. Somewhere in the night when the battery gets a full charge a message (in a little blue box similar to the battery low msg) pops up and turns the screen on.
I have disabled the: Keep Screen on while Charging option but would love to just be able to disable that message.
Also the phone seems unusually WARM in the mourning especially if the screen has come on.
BTW I have been feeling more awake during the day since using Gentle Alarm and the Pre Alarm. What a WONDER to wake gradually and not GET THE *&%^* UP type of alarm .. LOL
I would like to know this too haha. I've had the same experiences.
Me too please!!
OK, This is really getting annoying.. My phone is waking me up EVERY night when it's fully charged.. If it's not on silent/vibrate it does that damn chirp when it's finished charging..
If it's on silent/vibrate it vibrates when it's fully charged. WTF?? seriously EVERY night when I finally fall asleep it wakes me up!!!!
Who the hell designs a phone to do this ****? I mean 98% of people probably charge their phone while sleeping so if I put my phone on silent it shouldn't make a damn vibration just to tell me my phone is charged.
Can someone PLEASE stop this, I'm willing to pay!
I think I found it!
I'm working on it now. If this works, you guys owe me a big sloppy one. I'm sick as hell and even took off work today, but I'm still working on things, and trying to make life better for you and your phones.
Damn, what is wrong with me?!?!

Not a bad idea, but I'm not really in it for the money. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to be rewarded for a job well done and I appreciate it, but I enjoy what I do on here and I would be doing most of it anyway. I just get more ideas from you guys than by myself. ESKBL, accurate battery mod, and removing the batter popup message were thoughts, but I probably wouldn't have bothered with them that much if other people weren't so interested in them.
is the battery mod available for the showcase? I took that theme off, because the text was a little too small for me, but I did like the battery being correct. I think I like the one with the circle the best with the number inside..
Taken from another forum. Apparently it is not just our phone. It does have to do with Li-Ion Battery's aversion to not so much being %100 charged but Getting HOT when they are. So Sammy thought to help us prevent this.. *how thoughtful* LOL
After reading this I will probably NOT be charging all night in the future.

If you do want to charge at night this is somewhat a workaround.
Set the global notifications to SILENT.
(in settings)
Set the notification on Gmail to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.
Set the notification on messaging to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.
(not in settings but in the apps)
You'll still have a tone when you 1st plug the phone in to the charger, but NO tone when it's fully charged.
From what I am seeing no one can really figure out which XML is pulling it. I poked around (but being somewhat lost in the filessystem) and found nothing.

I've found it and it's not in the xml code, it's actually in the smali coding in the framework way down in the services.jar. The problem that I have with sammy graciously doing this for us is that when they put that little popup message in, they didn't think about those of us that have check the "stay awake while charging" option. This helps me out while I'm plugged in to a computer and don't want the screen to go out, but at night I want to charge the phone and turn the screen off. Even if you turn off the sound, the popup still comes up, the screen turns on and your phone heats up even more than if you were just charging it all night.
I'm testing the mod right now. If it works, you'll have two options; remove the popup altogether, or bypass the sound with the work around that you found. In the future, hopefully there will be a better option altogether.

Don't these phones have the chip that keep them from over charging? Or atleast the charger does.. I mean once they charge and you get that message it doesn't charge anymore does it?
Well i'll try the Silent Default and see if that helps... I pray it does

There was an article on another Android website (not avoiding giving the name, I just don't remember which one) that explained the battery charging process. They were examining why the battery will show 90% shortly after being removed from the charger. Basically the battery stops once it's at 100% and then allows the battery to drain back down to 90% before it charges back up again.
ok so i set my Notification to silent... I had my phone charging on normal profile. and it still beeped when the battery was fully charged...
would it have mattered if it would have been on silent ringer?
testing now***
Uploaded mod
OK, I uploaded the mod. It leaves the tone in for some reason, even though I nuked it. I'm still working on getting rid of it also, but this is a start. You will just have to silence the tone manually for now. Hopefully when I get back from the Dr I can find it if my head doesn't explode first.

Mesmerize Battery Charged...
I actually stumbled across this thread after I discovered how to disable the fully charged notification on a mesmerize facebook group! Open your phone dialer, and enter *#3844228# , when you hit the last pound sign, it'll bring up a check box to disable the notification. Hope this helps everyone!
Lol, now you can set your other notification options back to normal!
Oh, and btw, I've tested this, it works, it's not gonna screw up your phone.
CORRECTION: it DOES disable the notification box, however your phone will still beep when it is fully charged!
+1 for this working.
We had this posted in the actual mod the other day. Not really new news. I guess for those of you that are reading two posts for the same info, I'm still working on getting rid of the tone.

Hey guys,
messing arond with my new transformer at the moment. Keyboard delay and power drain on the dock suck, but the overall performance and usability are more than enough to let it stay.
Next week i am going to a small local festial, the wacken open air, and i am currently thinking about using my transformer as an external battery for my iphone. It should at least be able to charge my phone for two more times, so i can use 3g and the cam the whole festival long instead of killing those features for sqeazing out the battery up to 4 days.
I tried charging it at home, but at the moment the display turns off, the Iphone stops charging.
I could start playing music on the tab to keep it from going into standby, but that feels like cheating
Is there any way to just activate one (or all) usb-ports without turning on the display or even better: without turning on the whole OS?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.
most festivals have cellphone charching stations
If you really must charge your phone with the dock, I'd turn off the auto brightness on the screen and turn it all the way down, then set the screen sleep to "never".

I have a suggestion: dump that I-****e and get an android phone with a user replaceable battery....just saying...
I dont know of any method of doing this, but I would be interested in one.
grab a dreamgear 16,000 mah (not a typo) backup battery
Hey guys this is my first android app i am publishing and this is a lite version and i am sorry it works only on android 4.2 and above that's because day dream is only available on 4.2+... So basically when you plug your phone to charge, its just there charging and you are doing something. What about adding more fun to the way your phone looks when charging..
Drimer will cover that for you...In subsequent updates to come i will make sure i add more cooler options but for now guys take this as a piece.
Should in-case you encounter any problem and you have a suggestion for the app..please comment below would be so glad to here from you guys... and for now it is not on playstore because i am yet to be verified..
PLEASE HEAD ON TO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45759834#post45759834 FOR THE UPDATED VERSION
i am hoping there is no problem....will be dropping some updates later in the day...
Is there some way to make daydream working even when three phone is not charging or not connected to dock? I mean to make it like an screen saver that after some time, it works. Like after 30 minutes or after we turn off or lock your phone.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
nope..i mean that's why it is called day dream..you mostly day dream when you are idle...
and as you know it when you put your phone to charge it goes idle...
First of all, it`s ridiculously slow for the first 10 minutes after coming from sleep or on start up. Is it suppose to be liken that? I already done master reset on it, nothing got improved. Second, when on charge, screen keeps blinking, coming on and off, making sounds. Is that normal?
Thank you

Yes, it is 'that' slow on stock firmware. You are talking about budget tablet released 3 years ago.
1. Change power setting to High performance. (Battery will last 4 hours instead of 9)
2. Unlock boot-loader and get a good Kitkat rom on the tablet and it should be bit better.
Charge screen is a bit weird. Mine registers touches at random points even though I haven't touched it.
I have to turn screen off and on to fix it.
Root!

Root it immediately and flash the new lollipop rom. I was getting so frustrated with the lag I was ready to buy a new one and give my tf300 to my young kids to trash. Rooted it with the helpful directions here and flashed the katkiss lollipop rom and now my tablet is blazing fast. It's as fast or faster than my wife's iPad. Just wish I had rooted sooner!
