Ok,
Im going to start from the start to not get people off track.
I Had JPG5(Optus/Australia) running SpeedMod, decided to upgrade to XXJPY, Tried that phone showed up error
Code:
update media, please wait...
E:Cant mout /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:cant mount DBDATA:
copy default media conent failed.
So i found that it was an Internal SD card issue and i would have to try and Master Clear the phone to wipe the Internal SD card which i couldnt clear with the 3BR.. So i got Odin with the Master Clear so i got "I897UCJF6-final-OCD-REV0"
Ran the Start and it went thru done its thing but now the phone only flashes an AT&T World Connect" page..
Im pretty stuck since i cant get into 3BR or Download mode, so im not to sure if possibly the Master Clear wasnt designed for this phone altho i got it from a link saying I9000 ?
Any help would be great!

I tried searching for help, but can to a dead end. After I installed JF 1.5 and the phone rebooted, it just hangs on the G1 Tmobile boot screen.... I can restart it and load into recovery but get E: cant mount dev/block/.. I also tried the DREAIMG.NBH but when ever I try to load it (Power+Camera) I get "No Image Found!"... I dont know if it cant find the recovery_testkeys or if it was screwed up during the installation process... It does boot so im guessing no brick.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated
*EDIT*: SOLVED, I downloaded the DREAIMG-29.img, renamed the file with a .nbh extension, and bought a SD READER to MAC 4gig San Disk Card. IT ENDED UP BEING THE NEW CARD and READER THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE!
http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/DREAIMG-RC29.zip (Rename DREAIMG.NBH..
Hope this helps this pesky problem
maybe
It might be that it's not reading the sdcard right to read image to reflash. But also some people have been saying some apps are causing it not to go past the g1 screen seem the most common factor is desktop theme apps are doing this people have been able to remove these apps useing umbuntu to remove these apps and all goes back to normal.
Hmm.. umbuntu has never been a real good friend to me.. but yea the SD card was my last possible indication. I thought that after doing a factor reset under recovery deleted the apps...? Is there a way to just reflash to stock rc 33 or rcc 29? Im sort of new to the Android Dev scene... Could the Recover_Testkeys.img image be causing an issue also?
Thanks
Edit: Iv heard that the type of SD card might be an issue (Transend, San Disc, ect.)? ..... I dont know though.

Try a wipe. I had the same thing happen to me only i did something dumb, but once i flashed it, it worked again.
It happened to me today, It stayed on the Android screen for about 30 minutes So I removed the battery and turned it on with home+power button,
did a wipe, and applied the update again.
I dunno if doing the wipe helped but it works now
By wipe you mean recovery then (Alt+W).. Iv done it about 10 times. I keep getting the "cant mount SDCARD" and "dev/block/mmcblk0" after attempting to install update.zip.
Any other thoughts..? thanx
please tell me you have adb set up. if so i can try to help you otherwise i can't do much for you
Tubaking182, To be honest, i dont know for sure if I did set up adb... Could you please explain what it is and if it is still possible to set it up? If you could help me, It would be GREATLY appreciated... im about to give up.... such a pain in the a**
Bump.. for help issues
they may have changed the vold.conf in order to support A2SD, but that would prevent the phone from recognizing SD cards that are not partitioned.
I was rooting my HTC Magic 32A and had the same problem when I choose [Flash zip from sdcard] at RA-hero-v1.6.2
The message was "cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0"
Then I choose [Other > Move recovery.log to SD] at RA-hero-v1.6.2
And went back to choose [Flash zip from sdgard] and then it works.
Hello,
After reading many posts on a couple of forums, i've decided to do the modaco rom on my G2.
I followed the intructions the best i can, wiped my phone (I know it said this is not needed but thought i might as well, fresh slate and all that), did the core update and the phone rebooted with out any problems.
the unit botted up and I started the start up sequences.
Got to the google account screen and picked the logon option.
Entered my user name and password and the phone sent off to try and connect.
it failed the 1st time, o well thought i'd try again. after bout 30mins of retry, enter password, failed, retry, enter password.
i got a bit annoyed, i know the user name and password is correct, cause it works on google mail.
i tryed it abit more and it still did not work.
i went back to the android system recovery screen and went to do a restore, with the idea that i did something wrong and start again.
I noticed an error below the menus saying
"Build: CynageonMod V1.4 + JF
E:can't read MISC:
(No space on device)
E:can't read MISC:
(No space on device)
E:can't read MISC:
(No space on device)"
with that error, i thought it be kinda of obvius what the problem is, i've ran out of space.
I restored the backup and proceded to remove some apps and format the SD card.
went back in to the recovery menu, the same error is still there.
went to do a back and i got the same error.
I've did a search and only a couple of posts came up with this error. none of them really gave any answers to the problems.
I'm not stuck, not sure what i did or how to fix. any help would be great. thanks
EDIT 1:=- still looking in to this. would the fact that i have not partitioned my SD card have caused this? its only 2gig.
Hey Guys and gals, I know this has been posted many times before but I have trolled all of the threads here with no luck
Im rooting my Galaxy 9000 because the lag is actually embarasing to the point I just factory reset it and are considering returning it to Samsung...........
I have tried the one click rooting to find the instructions seem wrong? its not the power button you push but the home? button? it then tells you to move to "re-install packages, but this is not there? the only setting related is "apply sd card update.zip"
MENU ITEMS ARE
Android system recovery (heading)
Reboot system now
Apply sd card update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
formatt internal sd card
If you do the sd card thing you get the E signature verification failed and are back to square one
I have also tried to find out how to fix the signature thing with no luck
Help please?
I have also tried the Z4 root tool with no luck it runs through but does not root the phone
With one one click tool,
I also just noticed the green screen at the start states "server not running" at the top not related? phone is in USB debugging mode but the sd card is not unmounted? this matter? putting it back to a factory reset with all my software removed makes a small amount of difference but not heaps, also running wave secure on this but with a factory reset this should not stop it?

I know I made a mistake and i'm beating myself up about it...
I tried to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2 and ended up using the incorrect phones software.
I have a Samsung Mesmerize from US Cellular.
I did some additional investigation and realized I used the Galaxy S I9000 software on my Galaxy S Mesmerize phone.
After several failed attempts, I took it to the US Cellular store and they were able to get the correct firmware on the phone.
However, I am now getting a continuous errors; among others, this is the main one I get:
The process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher has stopped unexpectedly.

I am not receiving this message after downloading a new app; I say this because after searching, it seems this is the usual culprit for this error.
I am able to make calls and receive texts, but I am unable to download anything due to having 0.00B on my internal phone storage.
The tech at US Cellular flashed it several times with several versions along with re-partition checked.
Personally, I think there is still a partition problem with the phone where all the available space is allocated in the inaccessible partition.
After backing up my SD card and doing a factory data reset myself from the settings menu I get this:
After I confirm, it takes me to recovery mode and says:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file or directory)
--Wiping data--
Formatting FOTA:...
FOTA wipe failed.
Formatting Data:...
Data wipe failed.
Formatting CACHE:...
Formatting DBDATA:...

(No such file or directory)
E:install_application_for_customer:Can't mount DATA:
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
copy application failed.
Click to collapse
It appears it was only able to format the CACHE.
While in recovery mode, if I volume down to "wipe data/factory reset" and select OK and confirm with volume up, I get this:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file or directory)
E:install_application_for_customer:Can't mount HIDDENSDCARD:
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.

Now when I open SDK Manager and run adb devices, it comes back with nothing:
C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb devices
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

I am running out of ideas to get my phone back to operational.

Go to the Development forum and get a full build out of the "get back to stock" thread. Follow the instructions there and make sure you check the repartition box.
That may not even work akellar. Its worth a shot but may not work. If you can't get into Download mode you are ****ed. But even if you can, the ODIN flash may fail. Seen it happen to a fellow who flash i9000 files in the Phone box of ODIN.
Better cross your fingers champ.
I had somewhat of the same thing happen to me when going back to stock 2.2 from cm7. The internal phone storage said 0 mb and i was also getting the twlauncher force closes like you mentioned. No matter how many times i re- odined it stayed the same (with repartition both checked and unchecked) but flashing heinz 57 fixed the problem maybe it will work for you also.

Hi
Let me give you some background, I have Samsung GT-S6310N that I use when travelling, a few months back I decided to root it, it hasn't been use since them, today I went to charge it and update for travel tomorrow, when I went to the Play store, was getting no internet access can't connect to internet, but browser and other apps that need internet worked, so was only affecting google apps, after doing a few suggestions that I could find on the internet still getting the error.
After not getting any further I decided to just to a factory restore., as part of the restore it rebooted but now it goes into a Clockworkmod Recovery, anything I try just goes back there, tried the clear caches, format system, cache, etc on reboot always goes back to Clockworkmod Recovery.
Also tried the Install from sdcard. but doesn't do anything. It doesn't look like it's not reading the Sdcard I have install, when I go to Mount and Storage I see mount /sdcard even if I select it and click on it nothing happens, the line that selects it goes to the top but still show Mount /sdcard
I tried to connect to Samsung Keis and Odin, but doesn't show anything on the ID:COM
I did a few times recovery mode Volume down + home+ power but goes back to the same Clockworkmod Recovery so I don't think is working.
Any advice will appreciate it, hope it's clear what the issue is.
Thanks
i did the same thing when i first bought my phone and after a search for days i found a zip file to recover it dropbox /s/g0feyxptr95nuzr/vM00CWM(1).zip
it was on this device's forum but i haven't found original thread since i am on mobile so i can't give credits and i uploaded it to my dropbox.
If you have formatted your /system, you need a working rom for n variant. Just search for it. Install rom, then install this file. It will open a new cwm, and reboot your phone from this menu.
If sdcard isnt working, try installing them from sideload.
