Hi,
How do I remove or increase the partition of internal SD card. I partitioned it using ClockWorkMod .8 to 4gb and ext 0.
But now to install any application, it says no space. How to get around it.
Thanks in advance.
Your gonna have to repartition to 2048/0
Thanks
Thanks a bunch and Merry Christmas.
Your welcome but I'm just passing on info learned from others.
Merry Christmas

Hi all, i know this will be an old subject but the truth is i had a Desire 2 yrs ago before i started to play around with rooting and flashing etc.
Now i own my second Desire and it is rooted, s-offed, clockworkmodded and flashed with cm7.1.
I have recently been looking at improving my internal storage space and from what i can gather there are a few ways to do such a thing.
The problem is they seem a little bit too complicated for me not to mention a bit risky.
I am wondering if anyone has a simple method that will give me more internal space.
My sd card is partitioned (8 gig total 1gig ext3) i just don't know where to go from here.
Here are some details of my device.....
CWMod 5.0.2.0
CM7.1 Android 2.3.7
HBOOT 6.93.1002
Please Help!!
UPDATE:
I have managed to gain a little more space on my internal storage.
I found an app in the market called A2SDGUI and it allowed me to move the Dalvik Cache to the sd ext resulting in my storage jumping from 44mb to 107mb.
However, i am still looking for an answer to using the sd ext partition for all my apps since i have 1gig of space available.
Looking forward to hearing from someone!
Mark
CM 7 doens't have APP2SD integrated, this is why all the apps are installed onto the internal memory.
If you install any custom rom on XDA with APP2SD (MIUI, leeDroid for instance), you won't have any space problems.
Don't need to do anything else beside flash the rom, since you already have partitioned your SD card.
I thought this was answered a while back, but the search function of this forum didn't show any good results for a few pages.
My question is: The internal storage is separated into two components, a 1.48 GB portion and a 5.44 GB portion. Is there any way for me to combine these two, or to swap the 5.44 for the 1.48? Currently my apps and data are filling up the 1.48 portion while 5.44 remains nearly empty. I've tried to press the "use internal storage" button but that only swaps my SD card with the 5.44 GB portion. I'm also currently running the latest Owain ICS Rom and Harsh kernel.
Sorry for the noob question, and please don't flame on me if this was asked before =/
Thanks in advance for any help! =)
Nope no way to do that.
You should try link2sd tho if you have an external sdcard, then just partition it to have a fat32 and ext2/3/4 partition for the apps to be stored on. That way you won't be using the 1.5gb internal space but the ext partition u created on sdcard instead.

Hello.
Please help me on partitioning my sdcard. I noticed after installing apps, [got so many apps, it's 16gb yeah] my phone got slow when opening some games and applications.
I tried partitioning using 4ext touch, and my storage became small from 16gb to 5+gb.
How can i partition my microsd without losing a big space?
I still need a big space though.
Thank you!
Okey this is what i did, please someone reply if i did something wrong.
1st sd-ext partition -> skip
swap parition -> 256

GParted on a linux box would maybe be easier?
I would like to re-partition the internal memory for apps for the Prestigio PMP5870C tablet. Currently the tablet only has 1GB of internal memory allocated apps. I would like to increase this to at least 4GB of internal memory allocated for apps.
I saw an older thread which talks about doing it for a different Prestigio tablet, but i did not understand the method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758955
In the thread it mentions editing a "parameters" file. But how and where do i find it?
My tablet is currently rooted using the Kingo root.
Thanks for your help,
Mr Duja

Greetings and welcome to assist. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but here are 2 methods of swapping your internal to external storage

to make your system partition bigger would require repartitioning your device which is extremely dangerous
