Hi, how do i get hotmail on wm6 without having to go through hotmail.com on explorer. Don't like using MSN messenger either. Entourage for mac lets you use Hotmail like an IMAP/POP3. Can this be done on wm6? Windows live?
Cheers
if you have the pop3 smtp setting for a mail box
you can access it from any device which support those
settings it would be transparent for the device that it
was hotmail rather then a mail server at your isp
Er, looks like you can't get hotmail details. If you can if you subsribe to the premium hotmail service.
Found these but not sure?
Settings are:
incoming mail server: 195.137.042.007
outgoing smtp server: 195.137.042.007
port: 110
user name: your hotmail user name
password: your hotmail password
think gmail let one get access regardless
I changed my Gmail password (ex was going through it...*****), as you'd expect outlook on WM will ask you for new password when you try to connect. I input the correct new password and it doesn't log in...any reason for this?
what are you using to check gmail?
The default WM email client.
Menu->Tools->Options
Hi
In Inbox, go to Menu->Tools->Options
From there select the GMAIL account and you should be able to go through the email account set up wizard and amend the password.

is it possible to configure two different hotmail/windows live email accounts??? i can only set one account bcuz only one may sync with my messenger. i dont need for my other email account to be used with my messenger. i just want to be able to send/receive with my other email account.
Easy...
for the second account, enter in email address like
[email protected] (not hotmail.com)
This will prompt you to enter pop3 and smtp servers. For hotmail, use the following
pop3.live.com
smtp.live.com
username: [email protected]
voila...
I am having difficulty setting up K9 email for my corporate email account. It is a Microsoft Exchange (and I believe 2003).
I keep getting an error:
Cannot connect to server. (Error with code 404 during request processing: HTTP/1.1 404 Resource Not Found)
I can use Touchdown and normal Android Email to sync just fine. I use K9 for my Pop email account, and I like it better (not to mention Touchdown requires you to use their calendar app and widget).
I can even log onto my Exchange account through the web, by using https://mail.serverXXX.com and my login ID and password.
Here is my basic setup:
USERNAME: mellojoe1234
password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
WebDAV (Exchange) server: mail.serverXXX.com
Security type: SSL (if available)
Port: 443 (prefilled)
WebDAV (Exchange) path, authentication path, Mailbox path all left blank.
When I log into the webmail account I use:
https://mail.serverXXX.com, which gives me a pop up login box.
USERNAME: mellojoe1234
password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The resulting website is https://mail.serverXXX.com/exchange
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing some info that I would need to get from the IT department?
any K9 experts lurking?
There are a few different instructions here:
http://code.google.com/p/k9mail/wiki/K9MailAndExchange
But even with this I still can't get it working and I've tried lots of different combinations.
The stock app links to Exchange to easily its a shame k9 doesn't as its a much better email app.
I have added the account to the default e-mail client (POP3, it is a custom domain, not a provided such as Hotmail or Gmail) but there appears to be no option to sync all e-mails to the device.
Within the e-mail Account Settings, I get:
General settings
Account name
Your name
Signature
Inbox check frequency
Default account
Notification settings
Email notifications
Select ringtone
Server settings
Incoming settings
Username
Password
POP3 server
Security type
Port
Delete email from server
Outgoing settings
STMP server
Security type
Port
Require sign-in
Username
Password
Remove account
Remove account
Any ideas?
I don't know the specifics of your server, but generally the POP3 protocol only transfers NEW messages, it doesn't sync the whole mailbox. For that, you may want to use a IMAP server.
