just got these a week ago for $20 in grey to kinda match the color of the N1.looks sweet to me.
I got this case a month ago, and I must say... Its the best XD
They have em at bestbuy for $10 under a different name, but still by seidio. I have one and it looks exactly the same minus a different logo on the back

Always liked these Seidio cases on any of my HTC devices...
Is there any place in Vancouver, that sells this case? I don't have access to buying stuff online, so I would prefer to get it in store. There is one carrier that sells the nexus one but all the cases they have are pretty crappy and are all un-branded.

why would you even have a n1 without a screen cover in the first place? im sure you were being too rough forcing the case onto the phone anyways.
Had this case on my N1 for about 3 months. Took it off, and it had scratched the **** out of the top and bottom of the front metal bezel.
Havent put it back cause I was quite annoyed that a case thats supposed to protect actually caused damage.

Isn't the inside of the case covered in velvet? Is it possible that the case was loose on your phone which caused your phone to slide around in it?

Yes the flat inside rear surface of the case is velvet and should not scratch anything. However the velvet does not continue around any of the four sides. This means that over time grit can collect and eventually as madchild1 mentioned it is likely to scratch the top and bottom end of the phone.
I have had an innocase II fitted for nine months now and fortunately only some superficial rub marks on the ends. Because I use my phone in the Nexus car dock a lot I am forever popping it in and out of the innocase. This means dust and grit does not accumulate tothe point where I am badly effected. Good idea to remove the innocase weekly and clean out any grit to prevent damage. It only takes a second to pop off.

Wow, can you post a picture? I've had my Innocase II since the first week I got the phone. I take it on and off all the time because I worry about heat buildup in the car running GPS...
I wonder if your case was defective. I looked at mine and can't see where it would rub like that. I actually just ordered the Rugged Add-on for this case as I am often in austere environments.

Ah, that's probably why I have also not had damage. I can certainly see how the case would scratch the phone if anything abrasive got between case and phone.
I have to say that I've been very pleased with this case. I also had one on my previous phone, an HTC Raphael (AT&T Fuze) and loved that one too.

I just want to put this out there. I purchased the black Speck Candyshell today along with my G2X and will be returning it tomorrow. This case will literally scratch if you wipe your fingers on it. Don't even think about putting it down on a hard surface. This case would be perfect if it didn't look like complete garbage after having it on the phone for 5 minutes. Stay away from the Speck Candyshell in dark colors.
Could you please take some pictures of the phone in the case? From a few angles?
Wondering how the fit looks.
im also wondering about the scratches, if you could post pics of those as well!
i was planning on buying the black or grey candyshell case tomorrow.
The fitment is great! No lie there. Unfortunately I'm at work until 330. When I get home I'll throw the case on and take some close up macro shots.

I'm using the black\grey speck case with no issue and I quite like it, the other options in store were a joke...the body glove and circle ribbed one. I could suggest a case for your case in case it gets any other life threatening scratches. Sad part is I'm serious...its a case, they arent supposed to look like sculptures untouched, lol.
Ridiculous. I never stated that the case was never supposed to get scratched. However, I will not accept paying $38 for a case that looks like complete garbage after only 5 minutes of use.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Just exactly how long is your 5 minutes in my time? My case has been all over stepped on by pups, outside on furniture chilled by this crappy WA weather and in and out of my pockets back and forth. My case looks good...then again I will always be happier to have any character nicks and scrapes on my candyshell...so thats not even relevant. And ridiculous is hardly the word. Stating a phone hard case is garbage after 5 minutes, now thats ridiculous.
Look at you. Why are you trying to argue a moot point? Lol. I'll have pictures to support my statement.

I purchased this along with my G2x. T-Mo had a promotion going to buy 3 accessories or more and get 30% off each of them so I took the bait. I do have to say that the speck case does scratch VERY easily as mine has not been dropped at all and only placed on my work desk and it does have substantial scratches on it already. The other thing that irks me too is that my headphone jack doesn't fit into my phone with the case on so I had to rip the rubber out of the headset hole and it doesn't look to good but at least I can plug my headphones in with the case still on. I don't care that the case is scratched up as that is the point of a case--to take the damage instead of the phone. Just my 2 cents.

Here are a couple photo showing fitment as well as the scratches sustained to the case after being on it for 5 minutes. I'm sorry if this issue seems trivial to some but I'm not down for having my phone in a case that looks like **** after a couple minutes. Imagine what it'd look like after about 2 weeks. The hairline scratches seen were a result of a wipe down with a micro fiber towel. There are two scuff marks that were a result of placing the phone on the table.

A case is meant to get scratches.. you must of had keys in the same pocket with the phone of something.
Unfortunate there's no case for a case out there either.
hmm
well i purchased this at work today regardless of the thread starters issues. I work in a tmo store, and got it for pretty cheap so i figured theres no harm in trying it out. better than buying something i cant see first online. g2x should be on my doorstep in the morning, then i'll throw the case on and post up some more info.

Not the case. (Pun not intended) All the swirl scratches are from wiping it with a micro fiber towel. The two scuffs were from placing it on my desk at work. Regardless of the scratches, the molding around the volume rocker was cracked. When I went to the T-Mo store to return the case, I checked other cases and found that the case I had was the only one with the cracked rocker. All issues withstanding, this case is not worth $38 IMO.
Got the Speck case and love it. Makes the phone feel solid. And not as slippery! Only issue I had was I had to modify the opening around the headphone jack. Actually cut the piece separating the headphone and the HDMI port. Now I need to find something to smooth out the rough edges.
Speck cases do scratch easy. My sister has one for her iPhone in purple, and after 2 weeks of use it looks like it got ran over by a car, fell down a mountainside, and got chewed by wolves. Quite disappointing, considering how attractive (imo) they look. I still buying one for my Atrix. Lets see how it works being black... the most blemish showing color in the world
Wish they would make something white.

I would not want this case at $5. It looks like ****. Reason I'll pay retail is because I don't have an issue paying the money and can not stand waiting for **** in the mail. Clearly, $34 isn't the issue when buying a $500 phone.

I fell on a chair with my phone in my pocket. The phone wasn't flush to my thigh but rather the left side against the thigh and the right pointing away. So my force came down on it and ya. Does the screen face outward in the defender case? On the occasion I use a case, its the best buy platinum which faces in while on the belt clip, it's taken some serious beatings without a scratch.
I'd be real sore through if I were quadrupling the size of my phone package to thwart off like damage, only for it to happen! Must have hit that chair just right.
I've had otter box defender on all my phones and it has protected them from drops and sliding across parking lot when falling out of pocket. However I have never sat on it. I think the only way to fully protect your phone is to fully encase it in titanium with gel padding. Oh and not sit on it.

I find a lot of people complaining about this very issue.. Just cause it says its tough doesn't mean its going to protect it all the time against everything. Sorry, It does suck.. Very costly.. but its user error, not product error.
However, get a little sand behind the OtterBox on the iphone 4 an the glass cracks
Same goes for the InvisibleSheild.. people think because they see the phone hit with a hammer and ground with a dremmel tool on YouTube, that its gonna outlast everything i.e. keep the phone from breaking.. I don't think people understand that your phone isn't safe unless YOU are paying attention.

It hitting the ground under its own weight is completely different than landing on it with over 100lbs of force. Either way, you got lucky the first time when you threw it at a fence. Not smart.

Two major reasons I don't use a Defender anymore. One is that my phone was overheating while inside of it. Two is that right there. If the Defender's screen protector adheres perfectly to your screen, you're set. Two issues there--one, the screen protector is attached to the case, and not to your phone. Two, OtterBox's own instructions say to use baby powder to put a fine layer between the protector and the screen so that the "oil slick" appearance is gone.
In short, sand and dust will easily find their way in through the openings for the headphone jack and power cord, and when they do, they'll find their way onto the screen, at which point normal use of the phone will press them against the glass and potentially scratch it.
The Defender is a pretty good case, don't get me wrong, but for $30 (Amazon price), I'd prefer to have something that won't overheat and scratch up my phone. There's a case that's essentially an OtterBox look-alike on Amazon that costs $3+shipping, and I use it almost every time I travel. The OtterBox case hasn't left my desk drawer since I took it off and switched to hybrid and TPU cases.

Ugh, of all the bad memories from my dark iPhone days, OtterBox still keeps me up at night. The first 4 months I had the phone I had to replace my Defender 3 times. The hard shell left a scratch on it under the camera, and the rubber/silicone outer kept stretching like crazy. Finally just said "screw it" and bought a Griffin Survivor case. For the same price as the Defender, it must've been twice as bulky but 100 times as protective. I've thrown it at walls, floors and even down three flights of stairs and everything was perfect. The outer virtually didn't stretch out at all, and the inner didn't crack or leave scratches. They make one for the S3, so once I can scrape together some extra cash I'm definitely getting one.

Only $5.95 right now because it doesn't ship until 12/30. For that price I bought another case to hold me over until I get it. So I have a TPU KaysCase and Bumper for less than the Google play bumper would cost.
Pure luck on my part - I just checked it 10 minutes ago, couldn't believe it said in stock - ordered immediately. I like that the bumper apparently is fantastic quality, and still shows the beauty of the nexus 4.
Yeah I bought one and immediately had buyers remorse.. I submitted a cancel request, I rather wait and see how the 6$ bumper from amazon looks on the actual phone. 27$ is just so much money for half a case lol

I'd say the bumper would protect from side/corner impact better than a plain TPU due to the harder outer ring dispersing pressure over the soft core. Falls off the back/front variety would be about equal assuming a flat surface. A thicker TPU case could easily sway all categories in its favor. Obviously the bumper wouldn't protect a rock to the back at all and neither would work on a rock to the front.

Awesome, I just bought mine. I swear this phone is coated with teflon or something. It literally SLIDES of any table I put it down on. I thought I was crazy at first when my phone kept falling off the middle of my living room table, my nightstand, and even when I went to get a haircut. I decided to check it out and determined that if the surface you are resting the phone on has even the slightest bit of grade (not kidding, even .0001%) the phone will gradually slip towards the edge and fall. This bumper better be grippy or I will be annoyed...

I've been using the ringke fusion case on mine from the day I bought the phone. I'm not crazy about cases for my phone and all my previous phones were used naked, but the N4 is far too fragile with the glass back. Mine's about 8 months old, and apart from the tiny hairline cracks in the back which are barely noticeable, my phone looks and feels new
Not sure if you mean without the case of rocking an N4 while being naked.... Surprisingly, the OP isn't clear about that either.

LOL right
I used my Nexus 4 with the Google bumper for awhile, maybe 2 months, but it was really annoying because I couldn't plug in my IEMs with the case on (Anyone with Shure SE215s knows the connector is pretty bulky), so I wound up ditching the case. I got the phone 13 months ago, and the phone is in pretty good shape. People say it looks new and can't believe its over a year old although it has a ton of microscratches on the back, a few nicks in the bezel from a couple drops where someone accidentally snagged my headphones and pulled the phone right out of my hand (The headphones probably saved the phone both times that happened, they stopped the phone from slamming into the ground), and a thin scratch on the front that is hard to see from a grain of sand on my jeans (Don't wipe your phone on your pants people... I usually don't, but that one time I was thinking "Well it's only this one time, I don't have anything better to wipe the screen with... I doubt it's gonna get scratched...), and a tiny pit in the front glass above the screen near the right bezel when I got out of a car with the phone in my lap BUT I did have the bumper on for that and that saved the phone from shattering. I don't really know how it didn't shatter anyway, a rock had to have hit the glass for that to happen. I guess I was lucky that time
waiting to see when my bonus comes in =P when that happens ill rock it naked.... ill even take the dBrand skin off =P miss seeing my sparkly back......

I made the mistake of not buying a case and a friend put my phone down on a wooden table and it cracked the back of my device. I raged...I still cry about it now because it slowly gets worse out of no where. I just want to rip the glass off.

Just get a dbrand skin! mine has a dbrand titanium skin on it the second day i got the phone. The back now looks sleek and it does not get any fingerprints and best of all, all the scratches you got will be gone!

I have thought about it, is their website dbrand.com?
I always do unless I'm at work

yes it is!
I use mine without a case but I have front+back XtremeGuard on and carbon fiber skin on front+back too.
It has exfoliation on the silver bezel and another hit that bent the bezel a little.
I use it without any protection since I got it. It has already several cracks. It fell down at least 3 times because of the glass back. But why should I protect it if I will buy a new phone every two years anyway. If I sell it in the end for 50 or 70 bucks after 2 years is not that important to me. And the phone looks really great, so why should I hide it

I've had mine since Christmas and I finally got a cover yesterday (Ringke Fusion). I've already managed to put a little scratch on the back but I'm thinking of buying a dbrand skin to put on the back to make it a little more unique (I'm thinking the wood one)
I use a Skinomi on front and a dBrand on the back. I have the original Bumper, but rarely use it, it's too nice without
No case for me. Only a SGP Screen Protector and a glass back protector.
Oh yeah ! I am your man ! ... completely naked n4 ! no screen guards, no covers! and no scratches till now ...

LOL right
I used my Nexus 4 with the Google bumper for awhile, maybe 2 months, but it was really annoying because I couldn't plug in my IEMs with the case on (Anyone with Shure SE215s knows the connector is pretty bulky)

That case scratched the crap out of my metal bezels. Myself and a ton of folks had this problem. I would not use it.
HELL ****ING YEA!
This was my first case and now the top bezels are scratched
So bad , the reason I didn't mention it was because I thought it was my pocket or something.
I thank God that my Note 4 which had this case on also had a defect that required me to return it. It scratched the hell out of my phone. My new phone has a ringke slim on it and all is well now.

Which Ringke did you buy? I bought one of their slim cases (white plastic) and I have not put it on since I don't think it will protect the phone much.
I have the Samsung case on it now, but the headphone cut out is too small!
I just left my 1 star review. Total bs with this case. Nice scratched up new phone I have. Waiting for spigen to replace my phone (yeah right lol)
Yea wish I knew before I bought this case
I thought this case was the bees knees until you guys made me remove it to find a few light scratches on the top of my phone. I guess it's the sharp inside lip on the case that's the cause....boooo.

Yea it looks almost black in the picture, but it's Navy Blue.
I have the slate and I really like how they shared the original look of the phone with the chamfered edges and making them glossy. As far as scratches go, I already had some before I started using the case just from being in my pocket. Besides that, I can't see those scratches when its in the case. And for anyone to think that this shiny polished edge will never get a scratch on it is absurd. A case is probably the worst thing for it if you ever get some dirt or dust in there.

Has anybody tried the gray? Pics?
Yes, i just got the Gray version today and its nice.
I know these are scratchy but they feel great and dont add much bulk to the phone so...yeah.

I went thru them and got discount screen protectors.
I don't have a note 4 anymore but still have the blue case

Same here. Love the look and feel of the case but I have a ton of little scratches on the top on my metal frame. Ridiculous.

Right. People are going crazy on spigen and complaining but it's samsung the one that made the soft metal bezel. I have the Capsule case and I love it and yeah I have a few tiny scratches but if you think another case won't do the same thing you are sadly mistaken. I hit my bezel with some polish wax and now you can barely see the scratches. Slapped my case back on and I'm good to go. Not worried about resale value anyway of the device since they have none as it is. I love the case.
