Froyo for xt720 has released
And the test version before is the same to the full version released today(12.22)
I remember thay Skrilax_CZ said
"On XT701 you can have unsigned kernels. I think you'll be able to port it from xt720 quite easily."
So how can I do this?
please help
Thank you in advance.
Did I miss something? Froyo for XT720?
EDIT: I see...
xt720 froyo leaked
The XT701 has different processor (Omap 3430 vs Omap 3440), different camera module (5MP vs 8MP), so I'm not too sure it would work.

the camera should be 8MP...but moto just locked and put it down to 5MP... cause i can use the camera360 to unlock my xt701 to have a 8MP camera(3264 X 1840 16:9, 3264 X 2448 4:3)
for the processor part...i don't know is it the same... but i hope someone can make a rom for xt701 as it is a great phone as well...

hope so) I need froyo for my xt701 too.
i want to have 2.2 on XT701 too
camera of XT701 is the same as XT720
and i know the CPU will not be a problem for OS
so, developers, please make a 2.2 ROM in XT701
I am really hoping to get some Froyo on other models also. My XT711 is hungry for something better!
hey guys
I'm interested in having froyo for the xt701 as it's a good phone, is there somebody out there who could explain how we could port it or maybe give us some tips?
I would be really grateful if there's any help.
thanks
Anybody could tell me that how to port android 2.2 in XT701.
If someone find a way on how to make our xt701 runs on froyo please post it on this thread!
Thank you!
I hope somebody can give us a basic instruction on how to!
i too would very much like to know the answer to this. thanks a lot!
Need FroYo for XT701. Have you any information?
You could port the Milestone 1 Froyo. Dunno exactly what's different on the XT701, but that's the only thing you can do right now.

its very difficult for me. The bad thing is that forum.xda-Developers has no theme about XT701
'Cause the XT701 is only sold in a few countries, while the XT720 is sold all over the world.
What you at least can try is to download the Motorola App, then select your model as the Milestone 1 and let it install the upgrade (or download the SBF by hand and flash it with RSD Lite). Big chance it'll work since there is little difference between the MS 1 and the XT701 (AFAIK). If it doesn't work, report back and I'll see if I can assist you (although I have no experience with ROM cooking, but I can at least try to help you).
what is Motorola App?
And I can't flash anything without backup. I didn't see any FAQ how to create it for xt701.

There are instructions there for the XT701. After install, you can create a Nandroid-backup. Then you can download Software Update here: http://direct.motorola.com/ENG/Soft...torola.com/download/RN_Milestone_FROYO_EN.pdf (yes, pdf url but it takes you to the download page)
Then you can use that to try and get the update. Please report back after these 2 things
Vistaus, I've done this:
Download & Installation (XT701):
1) Download the archive Open Recovery Version 1.46 for XT701
2) Either flash the sbf file using RSD Lite (preffered, recommended version 4.6+), or flash using the flash_image the *.img file to recovery partition.
3) Unpack the "OpenRecovery" folder and "OpenRecovery.zip" to the root folder of the sdcard.
Usage (XT701):
1) Reboot into recovery (hold camera button)
2) If no error occurs, you're now in Open Recovery. If error occurs you're in Open Recovery Lite.
Lite vs. Full version (XT701 ONLY):
- The recovery image contains Lite version, with minimal options (moreless only difference from stock recovery is the GUI and applying update.zip doesn't need any signatures.)
- When booting into recovery, the Lite version is started. It will automatically switch to full version by applying the OpenRecovery.zip).
BUT Lite version of Open Recovery didn't turn into a full version((( OpenRecovery.zip didn't apply.
Hmm, does it give any errors? Please post them here then
(the erros are the only thing that would be helpful 'cause I have no XT701)

On the specs and information for the cliq XT, it states that it has Adobe Flash Lite. Am I just dumb or is that a 1.5/1.6 phone running flash lite? Anyone checked on pulling an apk?
my girl has that phone im amazed but it does have multitouch and flash lite from the looks of things.
any luck or chance of you pulling the .apk files for flash lite and posting them?
Well, the Desire ROM has those too, but I think you need a browser that incorporates them, so just installing the apks or pushing them won't do much good. You can try, though.
Yes but desire is running 2.1 the cliqxt is on 1.6 I believe. So maybe if we get that browser also we can get flash working. Not the files from desire but all three from cliq. Browser, plugin and flash all would need to come from the cliq.
But the N1's on 2.1. I doubt trying to slap the Cliq's browser or Flash lite plugin onto an N1 would be much productive.
Doesn't Cliq run Motoblur anyway? If it's anything like the Desire, the browser might well be dependent on the custom framework too.

cliq xt is still running a cupcake rom. kb7sqi's rogers rom for the G1 had flash working and it was a cupcake rom. this won't work on the nexus.
i read how to manual install Android 2.2 on Motorola droid
i try it on my milstone but it's faild
any way to do i??
THX
No. There is no 2.2 available natively for the Milestone. The highest OS it has that's been released is 2.1.
The closest thing is two custom ROMs which need ROOT ACCESS and OPEN RECOVERY to use, MotoFrenzy and CyanogenMod 6.
Is either custom rom compatible with the XT720?
Sent from my Milestone XT720 using XDA App
Doubt it, but you could try? They're coded for the hardware keyboard and everything.
Found this during my digging for XT720 ROMs.
XT720 Open Recovery
Does this not mean that it is possible to port some ROMs to the XT720?
Well not full Roms as one will not have access to the Kernel... etc.
yes i would say so. but no1 is doing the porting.. =(
open recovery works great on xt720!!

Yes!
Maybe come custom roms?
Would an XT720 rom theoretically work with an XT701?
why there is no custom roms ???
because the bootloader is locked, but actually Dexter on this forum got a leak of the 2.2.1 and there is an easy guide to install it! Look in the mile stone xt720 developpement you'll see its probably the first link!
possibly if it is easy to install, I personally I have no experience, but we will try. Unfortunately motorola openrecovery leaves no access to, but we have solutions that Dexters and his new rom.
A few days ago trying to enter the system and always XT720 bloqueba with an exclamation point, but already we can change the openrecovery rom. Thanks Dexters
Greetings!

Hi all, long time lurker here.
At the title says, I own a Korean original Motoroi, here in Korea on SKT. The current ROM I'm running is STSKT_N_79.33.50R .
Like some others on this board have noted in the past, this phone, with it's slower CPU, is an under-powered P.o.S. When I first got this last year it had a 2.1(.1?) ROM on it and in December last year Motorola graciously decided to release 2.2 for it. Anyway, I'm sure most of you already know that.
Upgrading this thing to 2.2 was like my friend's iPhone 3G when he upgraded it to iOS4: it was a slow, buggy mess, randomly locking up, rebooting and "losing" images on the SD card after talking some photos ("Can not write to SDcard" errors.) - among other things. To make matters worse, there seemed to be a huge bug in the Korean/English soft-keyboard that meant the input application would often crash during text entry.
Then, a few days after Motorola Korea released the 2.2 upgrade with all the above problems, they then seemed to pull it and reverted back to the old 2.1 version on their website. A few weeks later, they released 2.2 again, perhaps with those bugs fixed.... but with the same version number, thus preventing the updater program from updating MY phone to whatever version they have on the site now. Grrrr!
Anyway, enough of that long story, here are my questions:
1. What can I do with this phone now? I see a lot of custom ROMs here for the XT720 Milestone, but I know that it's a slightly different phone to the Motoroi... also, I've been led to understand that the Motoroi has a locked bootloader... right?
2. If I can re-flash roms on this... what custom rom would be suitable? There's so many versions here on this board that it's a little confusing. Also, what would be the procedure(s) to install it?
3. If there's no suitable custom rom here for this... can/how I re-flash this thing back to the stock, original 2.1 SKT rom? At least that was slightly faster and more stable than the 2.2 rom...
Well, one thing I can't complain about this was the price: I paid only 20,000원 for this on a 1 year contract spending only about 15,000원 a mouth. SKT were practically giving them away: I can see why, now.
TIA.
hello newbie here.......
i have the same problem before when i upgraded my motoroi to 2.2.1 , but i just found out that you can still root, overclock and use custom kernel...
- use superoneclick to root
- to overclock i use milestone overclock 1.4.2 version and setCPU
- if you want to use custom kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990735 and use raser_motoroi_boot.7z
- i also using this to replace bootanimation and fonts http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888379
- my motoroi xt720 is now overclock to 1100g with 74vsel so far so good.....
- you can also use MOTOMIZER [optional]
hope this will help you dude....by the way i im also here in korea ang using KTF SHOW usim on my phone
here you guys go this guy made ROMS for motoroi, im not sure how well these work as i have not tried them. he has posted a bunch of them. the are for motoroi so you must start with motoroi firmware. and i cannot read his homepape as its in korean. so check em out. http://code.google.com/p/xt720/downloads/list
i will try this and according to dev. "No Rooting ROM created by the state, and wrote more attention to the theme, need to maintain a more stable and allows fast was created." but your phone must have 44R nonSKAF original rom, in think that is 2.1 update!
In KyuHyuk ROM for XT720 1.5.1 by removing some of the files have been lighter.
[KyuHyuk ROM for XT720 1.5.1 his LATEST ROM]

KERNEL: 6.2.29-OMAP1
BUILD: Dexter-2.2.1 XT720 KhaLv3Optimized
I would know whether I can do?

Hello
Paul
Do you have Motoroi? Looks like you're running Dexter's on the 2.1 Korean SBF?--I'm guessing for sensor support. It may work, but it might not. I'm interested in seeing if works on your phone and trying to fix it if it doesn't, but it could take some iteration (I have Milestone XT720).
Did you have to make any changes/tweaks to KhaLv3Optimized? You're talking about the "# V3 rom optimized with miui" that's here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12278762&postcount=1 ?
Also, if you do have Motoroi, can you change the title of the thread to be "Install CM_6.3.0-RC2 on Motoroi XT720?"
i have motorola XT720.
I just installed this XT720 - Installing Khalpower ROM's with all updates after reinstalling the SBF: "Italy-STR_U2_02.1E.0_SIGNED_USASHLSTAB14P2XAPCNRTI039.0R_USASHOTBRTLRTIT_P001_A009_HWp3_1FF.sbf"
I followed the video on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu1EjoUGEgQ
excuse my English but google translator.

Sorry, I was confused by the config string. GAS_ASIA_SHOTSKT_P006 is a motoroi config string but maybe we've had that on all the Dexter-based ROMs and I didn't notice. Anyway, it should be fine to install CM 6.3.0-RC2, but the Camera seems to be badly broken. It could be a show stopper if you need it.
Thanks Mioze7Ae I installed the version RC3 seems that everything is fine, but I will update the market remains the old one. Do you know how can I do?
