Voodoo for mesmerized? - Samsung Mesmerize

Is there a specific version of voodoo for the mesmerize? Or that works best for it?

The link there is for the latest voodoo kernel and is all that's avalible ATM for mesmerize unless you ask for the 1st one and someone can give you that one but they are pretty much identical except for minor improvements its undervolt (good battery life)..very stable and comes with a sexy robot chicks voice letting you know how long 1st install will take.....options being somewhat limited to those two so pick your poison they both rock....thanks JT1134

Which rom provides the most performance?

I'm currently running ec10 PnP with the green steel theme. I noticed my quadrant score stayed about the same as it was on stock. Is there a rom that provides better performance without a huge loss in functionality?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
I didn't really see any difference in performance between ROM's myself. It wasn't untill I went to the Voodoo Kernels that I saw my Lindpack scores and quadrant scores increase. Im running the PnP with nemisses OTB kernel. Im getting about 16 on lindpack and between 1400 and 1500 on quad.
Also quad scores and not completely reliable so I rely mostly on lindpack for benchmarks.
Anywho, thats my 2 cents. Hope this helps
I've seen a huge difference between ROMs. You crazy homey g.
LOL, I guess I should have added that I haven't tried the AOSP or the MIUI. My main thing was I saw the most difference when I went from the Stock kernel to the Voodoo Kernels. But thats just me. I guess its differenct for everybody depending on what there trying to get out of your phone. For me it has been battery life without sacrificing performance.
And yeah, I am a little nuts, but thats just me, LOL
Thanks for the input. I will search around and see what I can dig up. About to flash superfrakenclean to see what it does
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Any of the AOSP (miui, cm6) stuff will be "faster" than the touchwiz(sfc, pnp) stuff. It just comes down to your personal preferences but there is a definite speed difference between roms just as there is between voodoo and non voodoo. Using an overclocked kernel will also speed you up. Try em out see what you like. the real performance lies in how you use it and that it works for you

I am also wondering the same as the OP. Currently I am running sFc 2.9.2 with the OTB kernel and undervolting. I am looking for better battery performance with stock speeds.

You guys that are running sfc and otb kernel, did you have any issues with missed calls? I was having difficulty so flashed back to sfc with a tw kernel...no issues so far but battery life and performance are not as good.

I haven't had the sfc on my phone but have been running OTB for a while and haven't had any issues with missing calls. Also have OTB on my wifes phone as well and she hadn't had any issues either.

Imoseyon kernel link?

I noticed this in new gummy. What are the advantages over imnuts kernel?

I love his kernel, only part I don't care for is the preinstalled overclock. Voodoo Color is nice though :]
edit: Heres the download http://cl.ly/9BnL/imoseyon_leanKernel_voodoo_0.13.6.zip
Do I install this through Odin or CWM?
CWM. Just "install zip from SD card"
Just FYI, this is already in Gummy2.0, so if you're on that ROM then you are on this kernel.

Overclock is not enabled by default. The kernel allows you to oc up to 1.4ghz with voltage control or a similar app. If you don't like it don't use it.

The way the changelog is phrased it seems like it's overclocked by default, not only that but when I started up Voltage Control for the first time the advanced section was up to 1400, general was 1000mhz though. Overclocking confuses me.

Yeah apparently he's got voodoo color on it that's why the colors look different than IMNUTS' kernel. In fact, here's a quote from the man himself.
imnuts said:
It will work, though it wasn't a simple edit as the files that are changed didn't have all the same methods the files that voodoo color has and makes changes to. Imoseyon seems to have gotten at least some of the voodoo color changes built into the kernel though.

This is so awesome! Finally the colors look correct instead of way oversaturated !!!
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
Agreed! Also, according to what imnuts' said(unless I'm misinterpreting) that's not even the full Voodoo Color, so we can look foward to an even better version in the future :] Voodoo Color was made for Super Amoled and not SAmoled+ so that's why he can't just copy it over.
Did anyone take pictures of their Charge before/after voodoo color?
I read over at the Gummy 2.0 thread something about IMoseyOn's kernel not having support for HDMI output. I don't have a cable, I just ordered it, but can anyone confirm.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
If it's true you can expect it to be fixed by the time your cable arrives.

I've had no issues with the HDMI out on this kernel. Used it to watch Netflix this morning on the big screen and it worked perfectly. I'm not using gummy, i'm on humblecomb. Perhaps it's a gc issue and not the kernel.

It's definitely the kernel. It works with imnuts' pbj kernels.

FYI about Voodoo Color: the color-correction only kicks in at 100% brightness, so if you're like most people and leave auto-brightness on, don't expect colors to look better because the calibration won't be in effect.
Super AMOLED+ also has much less of an inherent blue tint than Super AMOLED did, so I'm not even sure the difference is very noticeable at full brightness.
What would make a definite difference are the text sharpening enhancements (the Charge still applies an overly aggressive sharpness filter, much like the Galaxy S), but since text is far more accurately sharp on the + to begin with due to the loss of Pentile I can't really tell if that's active in this kernel.
So, bottom line: Voodoo Color was made for the screen on the original Galaxy S, and ours is a good deal different (and improved)... so don't expect it to make a huge difference like it did on the Fascinate. If/when supercurio makes a new Voodoo Color implementation specifically for the Galaxy SII, then we may see more of an improvement (but again, never as much as with the original Galaxy S because our screens are just better to begin with).
It's a huge difference. Colors went from oversaturated to balanced. White looks white instead of blue.

So just curious, I flashed this kernel and voltage control still says it's incompatible with my kernel. Also, when using any cpu app, it still shows my max as 1000mhz.
For the record I didn't get a wipe when I flashed it using cwm.

[Q]What rom/kernel are you running? and why?

As the title says im interested into what people are running and why
post back with stats and battery life
to start off:
Running Simply Simple 1.0 with asop theme and kj6 kernel w/voodoo and adrenaline shot with build tweaks. I get a little less than 2 days battery but im always on my phone
This is NOT a help thread!! just to see what your running
Seems like a reasonable thread.
I'm running the Bali 3.3UV kernel and RaverX3X's Audiophile Redux for Froyo 2.2.1. That's right, FROYO BABY!
I get about a day's worth of juice which is good enough for me. Although it never hurts to have more.

Valhalla was my first leap into flashing on this particular phone, and I loved it. But i'm loving octane and it's simplicity at the moment. Both solid enough to keep my urge to constantly flash somewhat at bay. Simply simple looks good, though.
My only complaint it's that Valhalla and octane don't support voodoo sound, but that's a kernal issue that I just haven't delved into enough (soft bricked trying to experiment that one, now i'm overly cautious)
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Octane version 2.x(super smooth and great support from developer)
ki3 kernel(came with the ROM and zero issues)
kj6 baseband(best data transfer in my area)
And voodoo sound works, just need the paid version

Speed Tweaks, Battery Tweaks, and Quadrant Hekkks

This is just a collection of random tweaks that I put together for all of you that want to see fast speed and good battery at the cost of stability. Credits go to TeamACID, ACS, Juwe, zepplinrocks, and a few others... The zip is attatched.
First, and with many thanks!

Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Thankyou! Flashed and my **** wifi seems faster.
Improvement of battery life brings upon instability? Well that just plain sucks. I could really care less about overclocking. But..thats just me.
Is there a version of this tweak that might just carry the battery life end of the tweaks? Everything else can just work as it normaly would.
This is just a request...in no way is it a demand. Thank you

Are you saying stability is iffy?
One note, this changed my "Build Number" to "MarcusantROM Revival v1".
Not necessarily a terrible, horrible thing.
Other than that, this is amazing.
Thank you a million.
can you post an explanation as to what exactly this does to achieve those things?
There are a ton of files and tweaks actually included in this. Its mostly code changing/adding. For specifics, if you know the linux OS, you can peruse the files that are included in it.
I don't know which tweak it was, but one of them absolutely gave me way better wifi reception. Getting strong, uninterrupted connections in parts of my house where id normally fade in and out constantly

It works! running Revival v1 with Samurai 2.08 and it definitely smoothed out some rough edges- very zippy now. Sweeeeet! Thanks Marcus, love your work.
Installed this.... Noticed some speed improvements... But I'll have to see how it plays out... Wifi has stayed the same strength.

Not sure if it is the new Samarui OC kernel, or these tweaks, I installed both at the same time, but i am definately noticing a diference. Flick golf runs awesome!

Regardless of your partiality, you are still correct. To back up this statement, I point to the current battery life on my infuse. I am sitting at 11% after 3 days, 50 minutes with a screen on time of 2 hours over those 3 days. One hour of voice calls and HEAVY text usage.
ZEUS, quite simply put, ROCKS.

!!!Zeus!!!
Is ZEUS the most stable as well?
Stability is the #1 factor for me. That and lack of amateur theming. Can't stand it when authors choose to put in weird looking fonts and other stuff. I watched the video that showed off zeus rom though and that is definitely not the case. EXTREMELY pretty.

All normal fonts and colors! Been running it for weeks now and I don't want to switch to anything else. Had problems with other roms like Bluetooth not working (which is important for me) but not this baby!

I've enjoyed using CM7, but am looking to switch to a ROM that sites basic 'phone' functions better.
Any recommendations for a nice ROM that sites a superior job at: accessing data, making and receiving calls, Bluetooth headset operability, etc?
I have constant trouble with all of this on CM7, and need to do better...despite living the ROM's other features.
