Has anyone managed to extract the Windows Media Player 10 cab file from the extended rom?
When WMP10 came out and it was decided not to make it available for download, I remember some people saying it that they had extracted it from the Ext ROM of their new devices that had it but I dont think the cab was ever posted on a thread.
Does anyone have it? If so, does itwork by just installing it on another ppc that is relatively older - i.e. one that didnt ship with it.
That would be really good, as I don't want to put the chinese translated ROM back on my phone.
Unfortunately WMP10 isn't stored on the Ext ROM so just extracting it is out of the question. It appears to be embedded into the OS.
So I doubt you'll be able to get it as an upgrade install soz
Hi,
newbie question:
I'm looking to change my French ROM to English on my S200 but am I wondering does it overwrite all of the installed software on it (i.e. Excel Mobile, Word Mobile, etc)?
If so, where does one reinstall these from? It is not obvious that I received a CDROM with all of that with the phone....
Thanks,
Jeff the OilGuy
P.S. I would appreciate an updated link to the Qtek200 WWE archive file that I cannot open with WinZip or WinRar..
These progs are in windows mobile. When u install a different rom, them proggies stay in. So, no need for any CD.
thanks!
hi guys, if i download any movie clips in mpg or mpeg on my xdalls i cant play them,it instructs me to run the program first which leaves me confused,i have wm10 and real player installed, any help appreciated.

thanks in advance
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about
thanks for the link but it was useless, they were files that i couldnt use,i downloaded on pc, un zipped and expected to be able to runa program but this was not possible as they were unknown files.
http://corecodec.org/frs/download.php/366/tcpmp.arm.cabs.0.71.zip
download this file, then extract the cab file which is inside, then copy the cab to your device, then run it, then it will install, and after that a new icon will pop in programs menu, then start it, then open the file you wish to play, then watch it.
i can not write it simpler, sorry
thanks, thats straight forward enough.
as my laptop is in for repairs to the motherboard im struggling to extract the cab file needed, if some one would be kind enough to give a link to the cab file i would be most gratefull.
thanks for the help guys
try resco explorer it can handle archives, or pocketrar
thanks ,but i already have winzip, the file is a windows setup and i cant open it as its exe.i tried downloadind resco explorer and that is also a exe file, i am limited to my ppc for downloading at the moment, any more sugestions appreciated.
thanks

Cabs are installed from device.
Exe's are installed from PC.
Thanks,but i am a real dummie
If i downloaded the cab or exe file on my pc how can i install this on my device?
My device is connected via usb to my laptop.
Thanks
exe files are executed and they launch activesync and auto unpack the self extracting zip get hold of the cab file inside and copy it to the pda where it launch it installing the program
cab files are 1 downloaded directly to the pda or copied to the pda by 1 putting it in the file sync dir or dragdropping it to the pda filesystem which one access using the explore device
button in activesync
or 2 copied to the microSD card using a flash card reader which is then moved and put into the pda
cab files autoinstall when doubleclicked on in pda filesystem
