Database Info

Problems putting Zroot on phone.

This is becoming the hardest way to root apparently -_-
I`m trying to get z4root on to my Galaxy S Captivate from Rogers (SGH-I896)
I`ve downloaded the apk file and placed it on my desktop, when trying to copy the file to my phone I get this error message.
(I tried to post a picture here but apparently I need to post 8 times?*fail)
It says an unexpected error is preventing the operation.
Error 0x80070057: The parameter is incorrect.
clicking try again just prompts the message again.
Phone is connected in USB mass storage mode.
USB debugging is on.
It appears the app is no longer available in the market so is this the only way to get it on my phone?
I've literally tried downloading the apk 5 different times from different places and they all give the same message when I try to copy, also tried copying the file pretty much everywhere possible on the phone. any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] HTC Connection Setup Database

My phone is refusing to run HTC connection Setup.
Exists right away with an error: "No Database available on device"
The phone is unlocked so I have access to the file system.
Is it possible for someone to upload the DB file? Im trying my best to get this working.

Are you using an HTC that came with the connection setup app?

I am using a HTC trophy.
As soon as I load the app the error appears.
I was thinking the app is looking for a db file that should be on the phone somewhere.
Any ideas?

Find a solution for this? I have a Mazaa (MS Dev Phone) and I'm trying to get it to use Verizon. TMobile SIM cards work, but even with the SIM card installed I get the same error you get.
Did your trophy work before a custom rom or something?
I'm assuming the phone is missing some of the stuff Verizon would have pre-installed. Is there a way to view the contents of a custom ROM from a pre-configured Trophy?

[Q] Black Bean AOKP v3.1.7 for HTC Evo 4G (not LTE or 3D or shift)

I just downloaded and flashed the ROM for Black Bean AOKP v.3.1.7 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820847
I like it a lot. I am experiencing a problem right now though.
When I plug in a USB cable to my computer and then attempt to click on the USB connected (Touch to copy files to/from your computer) I get an error:
"Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" Report or OK are my only options. I have tried reporting but not sure where it is going.
I do not have any backups or new ROMS on my phone's SD Card so I do not know how to fix this.
Please advise/recommend.

[Q] Regarding AOKP 4.2.2 Issue

Everything is working simply great except :
1) USB storage of my phone is not being detected i.e. 16 GB by default. I tried several time from setting-->storage--->mount usb storage but no use. Because of this I'm not able to use camera, gallery, etc.
2) whenever I try to connect my phone to pc through usb wire, it fails after showing some progress. So not able to transfer files.
Earlier I was using AOKP Milestone that they released in october 2012. At that time there was no above such problem.
I believe this is not any major issue and you will help and guide me to solve this.
Thanks in advance. Other all features of rom are working awesomely.

have you made a backup of your stock rom or some other rom? try that and see if its working if it will work on your backup try reflashing the rom, if it dosent work on your internal sd card might be damaged

[Q] hellcat flashing/twrp question.

Hi all, I've somehow cocked up during tinkering with this rom and now have no operating system on my phone and was wondering how i go about getting the rom & Gapps back on to the root of my phone using adb/fastboot/twrp or whatever as its no longer picked up as a storage device by the pc, although it does aknowledge adb mode. thanks in advance. Darren.
edit. after trying to push the rom im getting a "device not found" message in the command window.
