Hi Everyone,
We just completed our android version of iKamasutra. This is the original app from 2008 that is designed to to inspire couples to try out new positions. As you can tell by the name we originally developed it for iPhone, but are now really making an effort to make it even better for Android.
To reach this goal, we greatly appreciate all types of feedback, from if the name is stupid to have on Android market to new feature requests.
You can find more info about the app at lovekamasutra.com/android and there is also a Lite version that is free to try out. So please let us know what you think!
Where are the differences between lite and paid version?

10,33mb is quite a lot for an application, isnt it? A bit too much for me, so i guess i am restricted to doing the missionary position for the rest of my life....

Hi, the difference is that the free app has ads and 25 positions to try it out. The full one currently has 106 and will expand.
The size of 10mb could be hefty but we got plenty of custom graphics with audio so it's really hard to make it much smaller. The full app is currently 17mb and we aim to never go past 20mb. Can it become a problem?
For people who cant write the apps back to sd it might be a problem i guess... but maybe i am the only one...
Sent from my x32 using the licking write method....man I am thirsty now!
Ok, what size would be good if you can't put it on a sd card?
One marketing suggestion would be to change the name. It really irks me when apps have "i" on android.

It really 'irks' me when people make these comments rather than about the app. The name is FINE, stop relating it to Apple.
Nice one, not one for me but i'm sure many will try it
Downloaded the free app and ended up paying for the paid version. It's only a buck after all. Sure looks like I'm going to have to start flexing and hitting the gym more for some of these positions!!
Alright, any more feedback regarding the interface, interaction, or performance is still very welcome! or well, any other comments to you would like to share with us
Thanks!
Not bad, not bad at all. Nice design. Like a funny "tried" button. It is really useful.

So after searching, and doing a lot of research I still haven't found a decent auto tuning application. Were are the devs at?? Im willing to pay, and im sure there are plenty of more people who are. With the release of the "I am t-pain" app on the iphone, android hasn't been able to keep up. I love the **** out of my evo, but I feel like there should be more in the app market. Theres no good drum apps, no auto tune, no good keyboard/synth apps, no recording apps. Why are we slacking so hard here. What the hell do we need to do to get this going and produce apps people want that aren't pointless. Please, lets shed some light on this!

Thank you, even if they made an app that could port iphone apps that would be amazing. Or even make apps on the iphone compatible with bump, cause I noticed you cant put apps in bump on the iphone like you can with droid. Maybe something along these lines would be better and cut the hassle of making apps for different platforms, and at the same time everyone can be happy.

Anyway, I feel your pain. There really aren't any really nice music apps for android. I use beat maker on my ipod touch and its damn near a production center, unfortunately we just don't have the developer support. Not sure w are gonna get any support any time soon. They can't even pay developers to jump ship and develop for android
Hahaha I love all the hate I'm getting for saying something I would like to see. Feels like I'm back in high school again with all the little immature kids.

As someone who's actually tried to get something like I Am T-Pain working on Android, I can tell you the reason you don't see more music apps like the ones Smule does for iPhone is due to the relative lack of any sort of low latency audio API in Android. See here for more information: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3434
I just found it amazing you said Android been behind the curve ever since the t pain app for iPhone, as if that's THE app that defines how good an OS is. Wow. Just as you said its a time waster, cool, but ultimately useless, and therefore I'm sure its not a priority right now.
Would be fun to play with though, all I have is my 1g ipod touch so I never got to mess around with it. Just not somethin I'm hurting for
Why so much hate in this topic? The guy is looking for a neat app on the apps discussion board. Big ****ing deal. If you don't like it, then don't even post and save everyone else the time of finding out what a baby you are.

Greetings,
I've just published my first app on the market. So I'm trying to get a little exposure
NumberFun is a brain excercise using basic math equations. Here is a link to my blog which has a screen shot and instructions in the app's introduction post.
http://jrdevapps.blogspot.com
It's on the market for $0.99
Back in mid development stage, I posted a question about how to get debugging to work with the ViewSonic GTablet I bought using Eclipse for development. Got a lot of good tips and help, but unfortunately never was able to debug on it.
But alas, I did get the app developed and test on several devices. Works great!
Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any takers
Thanks very much in advance.
I think that your first app should be free...
Hmmmm...
That wasn't quite the response I was looking for.
But thanks for giving me a peek anyway.
You may be right, but I couldn't see putting this out there for free with the amount of time I put into it. There was quite a learning curve (unfamiliar development environment, SDK, never had a device before this, etc).
I agree, you would probably expect a first app to be something quite simple and under the above conditions, maybe not put together very well. But, if I do say so myself, I think I did an excellent job for a first try. At least no testing has had any force closings ...and I've tested the h... out of it.
Anyway, I appreciate the input.
I agree, at least for a time being. Since it is your first app you are most likely looking for feedback on what you did well, what not so well, and what to change so your next app is infinitely better right out of the box. You are more likely to get that feedback if your app is accessible. I'm not saying this because I want your app free, just trying to be helpful
Ok...I AM new to this, and maybe I should have considered that. I'm afraid I can't undo it now.
But don't let the fact of it being my first one scare you away. It really does work well.
Thanks for the advice.
Maybe you can publish a "lite" version with lesser features so that your users can get a feel of the game. I believe it might also lead to more people buying the paid version. Just a suggestion
Sent from my GT-I5801 using XDA App
You may be on to something. But, that would at the very least be a challenge to find a way to take functionality out of it.
Let me think on it
OK...It's now free on the market
I've listened to the replies about making the first app a free one. Also, Further testing with other people have given me ideas on better functionality. Consequently, I've put in several improvements and just published the free version (NumberFun Lite).
The original NumberFun has been upgraded with those improvements PLUS more!
So feel free to give it a try. If you like it, please give some feedback on the Android Market.
Thanks to all for your replies.
Has anyone tried this??
I'm just wondering if anyone from this forum has given the game a try.
I appreciated the responses I got when I first started this thread. Bitter tasting advice was given out as I was not prepared to modify the app for a free version.
But, I heeded what was being said and came out with a free version as well as a better paid version.
So now they're out there. Yes there have been 50 to 100 downloads of the free version...but I'm not getting ANY feedback besides one comment from a co-worker
I'm only asking that if you have tried NumberFun Lite, to please leave some feedback (either here or on the Android Market). And If you haven't...Why not
Not a bad game, but better graphics and sound effects would be nice
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I thinks that I will try it in my HTC desire.
Thanks for your great work.
Hey enragedpaza,
Thank you for checking it out. The feedback is priceless!
Yes, better graphics is one area I'm now exploring. I've never used OpenGl before and I'm purging through tutorials on this.
Again...your input is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys. I recently reviewed a few tablet specific applications for our tabs. Heres an excerpt from my article. I made a detailed video as well, its at the bottom of this post. If you wanna read the full article, check it out here:
http://www.thegalaxytab.com/2011/03/18/apptab1/
Apps Reviewed:
1) Unofficial BBC News
With all the recent catostrophes occurring around the world, the BBC news team does a great job of keeping me updated. The app is very simple; article snippets appear the left side of the tablet and tapping on it opens the full story on the right. Flash media such as videos and audio recordings are supported an play directly in the app. As I mentioned, the app is simple so don’t expect too much. The only feature missing that I believe should be included is the ability to share a story on twitter or whatever application you want. Hopefully we will see this and additional features added in the near future.
2) GoAruna
The perfect way to explain this app is by asking the question, what would happen if a ES File Explorer & Dropbox decided to have a baby? GoAruna would be the result! GoAruna gives us the best of both worlds. Its a very intuitive file manager with a twist. GoAruna provides you with 2 GB of free online storage and it allows you to upload files from your SD card to the GoAruna servers. Once uploaded, you can send links to your friends so they can download the file and you can access them anywhere using the GoAruna website. One cavet, you need to be online to use the app, period! Even with that little inconvenience, its definitely worth the grab and with the price of FREE, who could resist?
3) Twidroyd
Twidroyd is a twitter application with some pseudo-tablet-like features. The two paneled UI makes it more aesthetically pleasing and actually more efficient Twitter app. Unfortunately with the panels not being re-sizable it just makes makes the experience feel cramped. Nevertheless, for those itching for a tablet-like experience for Twitter, this is as close as it gets.
4) Dual Window Web Browser
Catchy name huh? Joking aside, DWWB (ya that’s right, I acronymed it!) is my favorite application this week. It fulfills my dream of being able to view two websites simultaneously! You can have your email opened on the left side of the screen and be reading an article written by yours truly on the right. Keep in mind that this beta so please do your best to report bugs and issues to the developer rather than leave them a 1-start and a bad review. Even with its current stature, this app is nothing more than just pure, “Winning!”-Charlie Sheen
Video Review:
Alright so I highlighted a few apps here but I go in depth with each on I my very long video. Yes its long, but informative! Check it out after the break:

I'm guessing you don't know who Charlie Sheen is. It was meant to add some humor to the post. Nevertheless, the app, in my opinion, has great potential and I enjoy using it. I recommend this to anyone looking to run two websites side by side simultaneously. Hope its clear now.

Thanks. I'm fully aware of who Martin's son is, and the fact that he's all the rage for the press today. But I don't get the reference (don't need to now). Having said that, you probably meant, "nothing less" rather than "nothing more."

Any devs out there that are micro brew fanatics?
More than once I wished Beeradvocate (the defacto standard for beer review websites) had an Android app.
Sure you could always use the website from the standard browser, but the formatting has a lot to be desired. (Tiny links, general page formatting type things).
So anyone out there care to give it a shot?

Thats what I was drinking last night when I though to post this thread..
I'd try my hand at it, I can do a little "programming" in PHP, but I don't know the first thing about coding on Android other than its mostly java..
Just finished searching the market for something that works with beeradvocate. Sipping a nice local ale at the moment and wanted to rate it
Would LOVE this app.
We have CAMRA here (Campaign for Real Ale) and their apps sucks and is overpriced.
My buddy is a beer geek, and a java programmer for a living, wish he were an android guy..
The Beer Expert app uses beer advocate ratings, I believe.
Edit: it uses rate beer. Still a very good app. Definitely worth the price.

I would love a BA app!
I do use a little app called Brewster right now to track beers I have had. It does a decent job and seems to have a pretty good number already added that you can rate.
Also has the ability to link with friends and look at beers they have rated.
No substitute, but a decent stopgap
This would be cool. Too many craft beer events in NYC to keep up with. www.theponybar.com
while we're on requests would love to see iStrain app for Android. It has a list and description of cannabis strains.
I just saw this site listed in an article on AndroidSPIN. Here's the link to the article:
A New Solution for Finding Tablet Optimized Applications
The part of the article that piqued my interest the most was this:
It’s not an alternative market but rather, it displays apps that have been SPECIFICALLY designed for tablets then links them back to the Android Market. Many devs claim their apps are optimized for tablets but in truth, they simply mean the app now stretches to fill the screen on a tablet-that’s far from being optimized. None of this “optimized” nonsense here. Each app is tested to make sure that it is actually designed for tablets; meaning the UI has been enhanced in some way to take advantage of the large display. It’s definitely worth a look. Thanks!
The site it refers to is: Tablified Apps
It's worth a look.

Great site. Thanks for this (Thanks button used with pleasure). I've only had a quick scroll and already found two apps that I hadn't heard of that look really good.
It's great to see people furthering the cause of Android tablet optimised apps. The more exposure there is, the more developers are going to be encouraged to develop for tablets.

It all depends which country you live in. I think it's only in the USA you get the tablets section (possibly Canada too).
Edit: well I hate to be a killjoy but the first app I saw on that site is the game 'Stupid Zombies', which isn't a tablet optimised or made for tablet app at all and certainly isnt a 'true' tablet app. So not sure how that site is sorting apps just for tablets, and perhaps others on there are the same, but I didnt look further. Maybe that's a one off.

If you found a missing app, there s a "submit an app" section on the main page. This site should fulfil itself if people just take 1 minutes to share their discovery.
Now what really is missing is : ..... A TABLET App ! trololololol.

let me explain how it works for games because there isnt a clear cut line. a games doesnt need to be 3.0 specific for it to work on tablets. people complain about not having a tablet games section then complain when i put a game up. this is how i determine if the game is a tablet game or not. i actually look at the Apple app store version. Stupid Zombies is a tablet game. how do i know? because the same version of that game is offerred on the iPad and on the iPhone. I know this because you see that theres is only one version of the game in the app store and there is a little "plus" sign on the corner of the app icon. this game was designed for tablets and phones. same thing applies for the Android market. Im not sure if you even bothered playing the version of stupid zombies on the ipad and iphone/ipod...but i have. theres no difference between the two. i spend a lot of time testing these apps and games. if one app didnt make you want to look any further, well, i guess its your loss then. i hope people understand that its not always clear cut. thats why theres a voting section. if you think the game/app shouldnt be on the list then please send me a quick msg. it takes two seconds. theres a button right under the app that says "send enquiry". notify me and ill let the people decide if it should be on the list or not. perhaps i should add stupid zombies to the app voting section.
as for the people who have apparently gone through the entire site in a day, im sorry i cant fill the apps fast enough...im the only person doing this right now. hopefully help comes soon. if you find an app then take a second and submit the app. thanks!

I agree with this methodology 100%. Keep in mind this site is brand new and is still growing. That coupled with the sad fact as many of you have pointed out that there are just not that many Tablet designed apps just yet. Give the site a chance folks contribute to the list... we will all benefit from it in my opinion... not that it should mean much since I just joined.... but still!
as far as stupid zombies I play that game on my transformer daily (its addicting) based on the above criteria it fits as a tablet app imho
Thanks and I am glad to be a part of this community and looking forward to getting flamed/ accepted here.

You totally misunderstood what I was saying and the tone. I wasn't slating your site by only saying id looked at one. I was saying id looked at one and not had time to look at more, and was unsure if all the apps were not 'true' apps or not, so i didnt want to judge just from looking at one, just report back immediate findings. I can see why you thought that though. I applaud your efforts.
Anyway I disagree with your thoughts on 'if an app is works fine on an ipad it must be ok in honeycomb, or for an android tablet', but hey if all humans agreed with each other the world would be a boring place. In the case of stupid zombies yes it works fine in honeycomb but its still not a 'true' tablet app and the developer doesnt claim it to be.
I think we can all agree there arent that many honeycomb specific or optimised apps anyway. Get developing people!

really? so...
IMDB, Movies and about a dozen other apps dont have any mention of being a tablet app in the market, does that make them not a tablet app? Sure they aren't games but still, by that definition it would weed out a lot more than just games. honestly, if i waited around for all developers to post that their apps are for honeycomb/tablets then i would have nothing on the site.
anyway, until someone give me a better solution for posting up games, im going to do what i think feels right. comparing them to their iPad counterparts is CURRENTLY the best solution there is. i check for graphics, gameplay, controls, etc. if its identical, like how stupid zombies is, then its a tablet game.
games like burn the rope will not be on the list because the controls differ from the ipad. the ipad has on screen controls to move the rope instead of having to wave around your tablet, looking like a fool. so thats an example of where the game looks good on phones and tablets but still NOT for tablets.
i hope this clears some stuff up. if anyone has some suggestions on how we can distinguish tablet games then please let me know. thanks!
