hey there,
I installed the vegan build beta 3 on my brand new gtab, but now I'm unable to turn on the usb everytime that I connect the gtab to my computer.
If anyone could help that would be great.
p.s. I ran into a bootloop and tried to use dcom's instructions (didn't work) maybe I did it wrong, what did work like a charm was partitioning 2048/256..
[EDIT]- now i see that you have to go into notifications and then turn it on... sorry, still new to android
No worries - glad you got through this issue. We were all new to Android once (and, in my case, that was only a few months ago).

Hi, my tablet has been lying around for several months now. This is because i earlier decided to play around with it (other roms etc). Now it's laggy, and shuts down on it's own whenever it's self pleases -_- .
I''ve been wanting to fix it for quite some while now - but it won't connect to my computer. The battery also has a red cross over it. I've tried several other cabels - so that's not the problem I think. It's not a hardware problem from the computer since i've tried it on many others.
So basically to sum up :
- My tablet is laggy as hell
- Restarts on it's own
- And won't connect to the computer (so that I can fix this ****)
I've also tried in download mode etc.
The tablet isn't rooted anymore - that's a big problem since i can't connect to the computer to root it - and update to a better firmware.
SO any ideas? Toss it in the garbage? ^^
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before - haven't found anything similar on the forum.
Hi,
First of all, great site you've got there, been checking it ever since I laid my hands on my first htc g1.
Secondly, and I hope I'm not double-posting about an issue already raised, as I've screened the threads quite thoroughly.
Here's the issue I have with my MK808B.
I've tried to start it with a USB ubuntu pendrive plugged into the USB OTG (I had saved some files I wanted to transfer, didn't realize it would mess things up).
Regular start up with this hdmi key is Google tv screen > android screen > home screen.
I get stuck at android screen, no matter how long I wait.
Out of nowhere, I tried to use another 2A power supply, as this had been advertised on other threads, no sucess... I also tried to start it with a paperclip pressing the reset button, didn't work...
Honestly, I don't know what to do exactly, I think it might have tried to boot ubuntu out of the usb stick...
I think I have no option left but to flash it (thus losing all that is installed already on it).
Is there any trick that could restore things the way they were? Any suggestion welcome.
Thanks for your time and help.
Solved by flashing
Hi,
Since no mgic trick happened to save the day, I was left with no choice but to flash it.
Used rockchip batch tools, crossed my finger so the stick wasn't a clone with the mediatek chip, flashed stock plus goodies rom, waited 10-15 minutes, and voila!
good as new, got rid of the chinese apps I couldn't even log on, but got a full wipe of my data.
Hello,
Long time unregistered lurker, first time poster.
So I was using a nexus one for to long, had a friend root it and he slapped on what I was told was MIUI 9. I know it was MIUI but not confident on the version. It was released and I believe the most up to date version around the time ICS was first released. I had a black ice theme on the device that made menus blue and black, if that helps.
I dropped the phone and screen started bleeding colors and eventually went black. The touch response was still working without issue, but I cannot see anything. I'm trying to recover the pictures off it, and can hook it up to PC with USB, computer installs drivers and responds, however I dont get any new drives available on my PC.
I'm hoping someone has a screenshot of the prompt I would see on the phone to enable mass storage if it asks? Does MIUI prompt to turn on USB storage mode when plugged into a PC? I've honestly never done it with this phone before. Is there another alternative? Tried connecting microSD into adapter then into PC but it advises format and cannot read. Any help greatly appreciated!
Apologies if this is the wrong section :cyclops:
The developer mode for MIUI is on by default, so you should be getting in the USB debugging mode once you plugged it in.
Maybe you should try to do a dirty flash via the recovery mode. If it is still does not work....
Good luck.
Hello everyone, this might not be a huge problem but it is bothering the heck out of me. So after some extensive research and troubles that I bumped into, I was able to flash CM11 on my AT&T 4.4.2 at that time. Everything was working fine including the plug&pop feature. However, instead of 4 different options that we get in stock LG, there are only 2 with CM11 when you connect the phone to a comp using the usb cord. By accident, I unchecked both of them because I thought it would be safe to unplug the phone. After that, the phone didn't show that pop up whenever it is connected to the comp any more although the phone still showed up in the Devices & Printer list. Therefore, I couldn't do anything like moving music, or rooting, or copying files to the phone. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve this? I tried looking at all the settings but couldn't figure out how to enable that option again. Thanks and have a great day everyone.:crying::good:
:good:Hi guys, I just did a reset and everything is back to normal now. Also I'm running CM11 20140509 and everything is working okay except for some battery drain issue (not so serious but definitely noticeable). Keep up the good work guys. :good:
Hello there,
First of all i have to warn you that i am a kind of a complete newbie about most things you are talking about in this forum. So please, be indulgent.
Also, i'm french, so english is not my mother tongue but, i'll do my best, i promise
I have knowledge in computing but not very much on tablets, phones, etc...
Here's what have happened to me.
Some months ago, i was looking at my tablet (Nvidia shield K1) when suddently it litteraly comes alive without me doing anything.
As i've some computing knowledge it was obvious that someone else was controling the tablet.
So i swith it off using the turn off button. Then i swith off all my network (router and modem), switch back on the tablet and disconnected it from the network. Then i turn back on the network.
The tablet was not anymore linked to the network.
So i start searching trying to figure out what was the problem.
But, as i said my knowledge with these devices is not very good.
This is were my memories are not really accurate as this happened to me a few months ago.
I first decide to ask some help to some people with a much better knowlegde than mine. I gave them the tablet but, they gave it back to me saying that there was no problem. They even upgraded the OS from Android 6 to Android 8 by downloading the update.
So i thought my problems were over but, in fact, they were not.
When i get back my tablet i tried to go again on the internet and didn't succed.
Once i have entered the password for my network, the network appears to be registred but i can't log on it..
So i started to search again for the cause of the problem, after a few hours, i found on the SD card 2 files that weren't here the last time i took a look.
These two files were named :
- Cryptokey
- Systemcrypto
Can't remember their extension....
So, from this point, i knew the solution of the problem was out of my reach as there was probably somewhere inside the tablet some corrupted datas.
This is where i definitely made a big mistake.
First i made a hard reset of the tablet with no results.
Second i have formated the SD card where two files were saved...
Now, i own a tablet with which i can't connect to the internet at home. But, i m quite sure that if i want to connect to another network than mine, it will work. As the guy to whom i asked help first succed to connect to his network and do the update to Android 8.
So, if anyone has an idea of what could i have to do to get back a working tablet, i would appreciate.
Many thanks for reading.
Have a nice day.
Listen I’m not like really good when it come to hacking or anything but I do know that in order to hack android you either need to A, be tricked somehow into downloading and installing some malicious apk or B, someone needs to have physical possession of your device for a short time. Anyone who knows more please correct me if I’m wrong. I think some of those apps for hacking android can survive a factory reset also. But your problem sounds different than just that. It won’t connect to a WiFi network? Try a different network is what I would think to do first.
Hi
I also dont think your device got hacked like @messymatthew already told either you need to install a malicious apk yourself or someone did it with physical access.
But your main problem atm is that you cant connect to your wifi at home which leads me to the question which android 8 rom you have installed right now ?
Or is it the last official oem 5.4 rom which is android 7. In this case its maybe a problem with the PMF function of your Router.
If thats not the case you have two options:
You install the factory recovery image you can find here :
Tablet Recovery images
For this you need to download the right image for your tablet (LTE, K1)
Then follow this instructions :
Instructions - Adb needed
Or you install a Custom Recovery like TWRP you find here :
TWRP - Custom Recovery - Adb and OEM Unlock needed
After this you can install a custom recovery like LineageOS.
Maybe you interested in my unofficial version of the last official 15.1 (android 8.1) which should fit your needs if you want use it as a normal Tablet with monthly security updates.
Scavenger87 - Unofficial LineageOS 15.1
Hello,
Sorry for late reply.
Many thanks to both of you.
EDIT : Forgot to tell you that you are right, my tablet works with Android 7 not 8.
I have tried to connect straight to my modem (so not runnig through my router) and i succeed.
So it seems you are right there is a problem with my new router ASUS GT-AX 11000.
I'm gonna try the solution you are suggesting to me and will keep you posted.
Hello,
@Scavenger87 Many thanks for the help you provide.
You were right, it was the PMF function settings that were blocking my tablet to join the network.
Now, everything is working smoothly
Wish you a very nice day.
