'Get more HTC Widgets', for those unable to install.(testkeys & releasekeys versions)
Some of us have had problems downloading the 8 widgets avaliable in the "Get more HTC widgets" option in 2.1 roms, either not giving us an error message saying unavailable or something, or (if your using a testkeys roms, such as those using friend stream), you can see what widgets are avaliable, hit the download button, and it gives you an error saying unable to install.
I downloaded and installed all the widgets using a release keys roms, pulled them from the rom and uploaded them so if you are having any problems you may simply install them from SDcard using a file manager.
I have also included a second version, of the same widgets just re-signed with test keys, so you may use them on roms that have been resigned to get custom apps(such as friendstream to work)

1. Download the appropriate APKS for your rom
2. Unzip to SDcard
3. Install any of the widgets you want using file manager of your choice! (astro, Es file explorer, etc)

IMHO, your not, besides maybe the profile widget, btw some of these(i don't know all of which right off) even work on NON sense roms, so long as your non sense rom is a test keys rom. I installed the profile widget on Darchdroid 2.7 with no issues!
hey thanks for this! Needed it seeing as I couldnt download them on DC.
I like the coin, profile, and the note widget.
I really like the battery widget, simple and not too big.
I honestly didn't think I was missing anything, but its a beautiful thing to have something available to me that was not available before. I am sure nobody can argue that point. Woo hoo !

* It's a zip package, but you need to extract it. After that, you need to flash the tar file with Odin (not included)
The old ZNKP2 ROM works very well on Captivate (Screen Orientation and Buttons fine), so this one will work too..
PD 1: I can't upload this to other server because my upload speed sucks..

Anyone tested the modem yet?
tried to download on 3 different computers 1 mac and 2 different internet connections.
download truncates on all.
Upload to a better server.
I will provide you access to my file server if necessary.

Yep, sorry about the Link But my connection SUCKS!! Every file +50MB i want to upload, fails.. :S
The Modem is ZNKP1, the old modem that comes with ZNKP2 ROM..
The really bad thing: Chinese ROM! > No Market, no Maps, no Google.. And, when you install it, the Market's downloads are SLOW! (I don't know why!)
But, i'm surprised that, if you flash this with Odin, the Boot speed is REALLY fast!!!
I've already deodexed, zipaligned, removed Bloat and added GApps, and it's working very well! But, as i said, i cannot upload anything
I hope some Dev can make something from this Stock ROM, and inject Voodoo to this Kernel

Adding market is not too hard to do. Infact if you search for adding market to android emulator this will elp you out. Just substitute the market provided with a current market. Then go from there.
I believe(from memory working with KP2) the 2 important files are GoogleServicesFramework.apk and GoogleMarket. Adding gmail.apk helps too, but not needed at first.
Also delete Quick Search and load the official google search.(GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk) It is in english and does not point to daidu or whatever china searches with.

That's exactly what i did, except for Gmail. That fixes the wap.waidu.** search provider for Browser too..
Does the default email client still have all the references to 126.com, 300.com, ect.?
I tried to remove those and was about 90% successful. It was easier to use JS5 email 2.2.1

I am far from a developer, but I was successful at injecting the Voodoo Lagfix into the kernel for the older software (ZNKP2) for this phone just last night. I am moving 180 miles east right now, but I'll see if the same method works for this version.

It is running good without Voodoo.
I am running speedmod k13c. Only issue I had was with Swype. Since I do not use it is gone.

I hope you might be able to comment on a problem I'm having with a vendor. Please note that I'm not an Android developer myself -- I'm merely the delivery manager for our app.
They embed (preinstall) our application in their (Android 2.1-update1) device firmware, and they insist it should be done as follows (but they can't explain why it should be done like this):
Copy the native library libMyApp.so from the APK to /system/lib/.
Install the unmodified APK (i. e. with libMyApp.so still contained in the APK) we delivered to them aside in /system/app/.
In my opinion this has the disadvantage that if we upgrade the preinstalled app with a newer build from the Market or via uSD card or by downloading it from some webserver, the old libMyApp.so will still be present in /system/app/ and override the one inside the APK -- thus the old code is used instead of the new one.
Is there any docs from Google which outline how an app should be preinstalled? I couldn't come up with anything useful on Google... :-(

Not sure if anybody is familiar with this device. So far there's no working root on this, so I can't go to Android app market. So the best I can do to watch flash movie is to find/download and install the APK (10.2 version).
Some flash works fine, but some others are not. Eg: some movies in animeseason/viki/mysoju can play, but not some others.
Any idea what went wrong? How to fix?

I know this is an old thread but there is a root available. Z4Root works perfectly and then all you need is to get the google apps and put them into your system/app folder to have market and such.

does anyone know where i can get a Full Package of the Original Honeycomb Motorola Stock Apps? Just have a Xoom from a friend here, Flashed ICS from Team Eos, and now he anxious want's the Original Motorola Apps again.
Especially he Stock Filemanager.
Can i download them from anywhere? Or have i to flash back to HC, and backup the apps? If yes, does it work with Titaniumbackup?
So that i can get the clean install-apk's, not the orginial which are integrated into the system?

Cant help you sorry. But would also like the default File Manager back for posterity. Apparently it is only the non US model that actually cam with the file manager in Honeycomb 3.2 update. US versions never had it and everyone will tell you to download a file manager from the market!! But the stock one was very simple and intuitive so I like it and want it back too.

I managed to get the file manager that came in the Honeycomb stock motorola, ROM, but I can not install!
I've tried putting the file directly in the "app", I changed the permissions for all possible combinations, and nothing... I've been researching and I think the problem is that such "android manifest" it determines the sdk to target 11 and the ICS is 15 .. but can not edit the xml. I liked it too, because it was simple. But I then realised it was not tablet optimised, so much slower to navigate.

Not sure if anyone would be still interested in this but I got the stock File Manager back!
I've "reseted" my xoom back to 3.0.1 version. The File Manager apk provided wouldn't work but after an update to 3.1 version that nice stock File Manager apk just showed up automatically. No need for apk installation or anything.
