Chat *****es!
http://theandroidsite.com/2010/12/1...pdate-now-brings-chat-and-push-notifications/
I for one am exited about this.
Just updated. So glad chat has been intergrated finally. Android has really cleaned itself up over the last few weeks with some big apps receiving important updates. Good stuff!

Is anyone having problems with the new push notifications not coming through?

Excellent, I can finally get rid of the third party app I had to use for chat.. Nimbuzz, if anyone was curious.
Push notifications work fine here.
Chat is very fast, testing it between phone and PC
Do the push notifications work better than f-plus? I'd be happy to switch.

I didn't do anything special. Update to the latest from market.
Starting getting notifications.
I think push is only supposed to work during Chat as those are "pushed" instantly as they come.
Well i haven't gotten any messages or anything yet so maybe that's why i don't get those "pushed" but i don't think normal notifications are gonna get pushed. Like when someone replies to something you have commented on, i'm not sure if those are supposed to be pushed or not (but they don't for me ).
(didn't get messages pushed either, tested from my gfs account to mine)

I'm getting notifications when someone replied to a thread I have commented on.
Also when someone send me a message notification get pushed as well.
Not sure why some peoples are not able to get it to work, hope you guys solved it soon.
Ok well i did get it like 5 mins later but i'm not sure if that's just the schedule sync that was supposed to happen (set for every 1hr but not sure when was the last one) vs actually being pushed - not perfect signal here so maybe that held it up?
Anyways, guess we'll see some more later.
Does anyone know how to disable push notifications? I have 'Refresh interval' set to never and Notifications inactive, yet I'm still receiving them in my status bar.

Seems only the GB sense roms have this issue... anyone know of a fix?
Thanks
Download Go SMS. Under services (or something? one of the last two options) go to the bottom and change message order from something like "time received" to "order received" the times will still be wrong but your conversation will at least be in order..
Or try Handcent I'm sure there is a similar feature
try SMS Time Fix from the market. It worked for me when I was on GB. Its free too!!
thanks!!!

I don't see why it wouldn't work, it orders everything based on when you received it and not the time.. I tried both last night and they still worked for me..

silly question, but did you enable sms time fix and go through the settings?
I didn't think the sms time fix app worked at first since I did not run the app and turn it on lol never had an out of place text since

ummm, yes it does. I have done it and all of my messages are in order.
Yea so i made a mistake, i thought it was supposed to re-order the texts i already received. Im happy to report it does work!. Thanks for your help once again guys!
i was having this same problem, good to see that the search bar is my friend =)
Everyone is aware of the push notification bug since 2.3.5 update. What I have observed is when the apps relating to push notification are active or when we are interacting with them, push will work just fine. The real problem starts when we shift away from phone or maybe let the phone sleep. The problem is very severe when phone goes into deep sleep mode.
I have observed that if we keep data connection (exchanging data) active for any activity I won't miss a notification or push mail.
So I thought about a workaround. Just keep the talk (Gtalk) application active in background. Since doing that I am getting near realtime push notification. The only thing I have to check how much battery life is this going to hamper. I will test it out for a day or so and let you guys know. In meantime some people out there please try it and respond.

It makes some delay. Depends on time you choose in app, min is 4 minute so max delay will be 4 minutes.

Hi,
Anyone else having issues with Inbox not pushing notifications? I still get gmail notifications just fine. Sometimes notifications from both show up, but most of the time Inbox doesn't show anything. My sync settings are fine and I tried to clear data/reinstall. I'm on 4.4.4 Purity rom.
Thanks!

Been fine here. You don't get notifications for all "bundles" though, so don't forget to check the notification settings for each bundle.

Oh geez, I didn't even realize.. I think that explains it. I just enabled notifications for 'forums' bundle. Could you reply here so I can see if the notification goes through this time?

Cool. ...and no problem.
I am not receiving notifications for Allo or Google messages. Have tried everything I've seen online. Anyone have these working? If so how?
I have found you have to either manually enable it per app or tell the phone to allow all.

I have tried both and those two do not work. I get all other notifications
Same issue, also for discord.
Same here for Hangouts and I am sure a few other apps.
For Hangouts send yourself a message but don't open it, you'll then be notified when new ones arrive.
Try disabling the MIUI battery saver for the specific app.
Tried that doesn't help.

Nope doesn't work. I've tried every suggestion. It's weird that I get notifications for everything else except allo and messages.

Then I guess it's an MIUI bug. Have you reported it?
Notifications are fixed in the China dev rom, just installed it and immediately started getting notifications on Allo, discord and Hangouts. A ton of additions as well! slider customization is now in the settings as well!
Mine magically started working last night. Someone sent me a text (my Google Voice goes to Hangouts) and it sat unread for several hours. I opened it then poof, all Hangouts notifications work now.

Yes dev rom is a huge difference. Can now rock it as my daily. Getting notifications and using fi and att.
I figured out the solution to this. Messages is listed as the default app but isn't. From Messages, mark all as read, it will then display a message at the bottom asking to make Messages the default. Press yes and notifications start working.

Yeah, mine has stopped working again. Strangely, it works fine I'm the car. How does global compare to eu? Any point in switching?

I currently don't see a reason honestly. I thought the global would fix some things and for me it didn't. Honestly right before I switched I had the eu room set up almost perfectly.

Have you tried the weekly build of the eu rom? I would have tried it already, but I'm traveling and can't afford any downtime.

Yes. I have had zero issues w it. Nor have I had any issues with global except Google messages and allo notifications
Since I've had my phone, some notifications just don't come through no matter what I do. WhatsApp will not work unless I wake up my screen and my calender reminders never work unless I happen to be on my phone.
All permissions granted, battery optimization turned off, auto start enabled and no restrictions on these apps. Quite annoying.
Does anyone know how to sort this?
LOL this has to be the funniest post I've ever seen here. Like 25% of posts and comments on mi 10 ultra forums are about notification issues bud. Did you even attempt to search?

Are you on stock Chinese by any chance? Switch to the EU ROM, this will resolve your issue easier than it is to explain every setting needed for some notifications to fully work. Took me ages but I did do it. Then I went EU, no issues, worked straight away.

I'm on the stock rom. Not planning on switching to the EU rom any time soon as I need Google Pay and my banking apps working.
Would you mind telling me how you got it working?

Definitely try the EU ROM. It has its own problems but it's better than the stock.
Yeah I get this all the time. Its so frustrating. This bug has a mind of its own and seems to choose when it likes to stop notifications working

It is very strange, because WhatsApp is one of the apps whose notifications seems to be reliable.
Gmail is one that I am not 100% sure about. But I feel it is somehow related to the way gmail handle its notification, since I experience similar behaviour on other phones.
Teams and Outlook are 100% notifications rate for me.
Possibly I have set something else in MIUI settings, I have to check everything.
