Htc Gratia Support ? ? ?
root on htc gratia ?
gingerbread for gratia ?
help me! thanks... sorry for my bad english
To my knowledge, no one has successfully rooted and flashed a custom recovery on a Gratia yet. I know rageagainstthecage works on it.
I've been snooping around, and may have a solution.
It will require a gold card, rageagainstthecage and some hex editing.
If someone comes to the IRC channel with a gold card ready, I will work with you to try to find a solution.
Thanks
Thanks for you support
cyxxx from IRC yesterday, I have one more idea (borrowed), if you are interested.
Just got a Gratia from Russia around, wont work atm to root.
can i help in some way?
There's no root for it yet. If you want send it to attn1 and I'm sure he can figure it out and send it back.
sent from my HTC Intruder running FR007 and CM6.1

Anyone? I am with usc and it was between this an a mesmerize. I got the merge since I like sense, and its quadrant score was WAY better. No if only someone would be able to root it, and let the development begin
Is this phone being ignored because it was a ghost for so long? Are the few of us who have it going to need to learn how to be developers to monkey around with our phones?
I have an HTC Merge. I found a perma-root for it and have done it sucessfully
Link (( http://androidforums.com/merge-all-things-root/434029-root-s-off-simunlock-supercid-htc-merge.html ))
I also have the latest stock rom ( 2.3.5 Gingerbread )
If someone is interested in creating a custom rom for this device, I would love to help.

You're getting way ahead of yourself....You don't need to worry about Sense 3, till you actually learn about rooting and what everything is. If you just jump into this you could end up with a HD paper weight. First you need to read up on the faqs in the DHD section, then maybe you'll understand things better.
hy
Thats all what i want actually ,to get sense 3(because i cant afford a htc sensations). And i am sure you were like me a few years a go ,when u didnt know about these things...so u know how i feel... off-course i want to learn how to do this stuff in the right way , that's why i posted here, asking for help
i hope u understood me
thanks anyway
Spend some time in the HTC Desire HD Subforum they will have guides on how to root your phone, and a few ROMS with Sense 3.0 like cool3d.

Of course I was like you before . When I first got a G1 back in 09 or maybe 2010, I didn't know nothing about root or hacking or anything. But now I know much more, and similar to you I can't get a sensation but I sure as hell can run the unity ROM that's just as good as the sensation stock . But you may also like other roms that are for the DHD, like MIUI, stock android, doubleshot and others.
other ROMS
You should check out the CoreDroid v.7.1 ROM it has a lot of sense 3.0 features built in, it is very fast and very stable, I am running it myself, and I am very pleased.
thanks guys.i am quite liking this community
so to be sure.i just have to root and nothing else ,to be able to install custom Roms ,true?
hope i am not annoying..
thanks and a good day to all
Yes, I would highly reccomend the ace hack kit, it is a very simple, and easy to do root, the manual OS inside of the download, follow it step by step, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions during the process

Hello,
first of all, sorry for being a noob, I hope this question wasn't asked anywhere else (I checked but couldn't find anything about it)
I bought the DS about 4 Months ago and really, I love it. Still, I would like to tweak it a little bit and give MIUI a try! BUT I'm reaaaally afraid of screwing my phone up! (I had a HTC Magic which I rooted and flashed several times but here it seems to be a totally different operation).
Here are my questions:
1) Is MIUI installable on UPDATED (Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.5) HTC Desire S with OFFICIAL HTC OTA update yet?
2) Is it possible to backup my files and fallback to my old settings easily?
3) Is the battery life convincing on MIUI? (I feel great with 2 days of middle-intensity use.)
4) Could someone guide me through every different steps? There are so much links everywhere I dunno where to look and I'm afraid to miss important things etc. etc. This would really be so much appreciated and after that I could do a toppic (if needed) with every information concentrated for noobs like me ;-)
Thanks in advance!
Thomas
PS: sorry for my english!
1.MIUI is completely different rom and u can install whatever Sense rom u have.
2.yes.Use nandroid backup or Titanium backup for apps
3.battery life is good on miui.
4.for this one u need to use search.i'll just give u this link to start http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146601
Thanks a lot for that fast answer, iI'll take a look at that and come back if there are things I'm hesitating about!
Little question: I know it's a different rom, I meant, is it possible to S-Off and root Updated HTC Desire S and then Flahs MIUI yet? Considering it's been updated the official way ^^
EDIT:
Okay so, if I get it right: I need
1) to S-Off (if my updated device doesn't fit the conditions it should be refused on revolutionary website)
2) to ROOT (Gingerbreak or Superoneclick APKs)
3) Do I need to install a custom recovery? for example ClockWorkMod? (it's written in OUTDATED on the tutorial, is it a problem?)
4) Then I should be able to flash MIUI
Right?
Thanks a lot
Yep, you've got it

Thanks a lot!
I'd like to try rooting and flashing today but on Revolutionary page they say we need HTC Drivers for fastboot: they provide a download link which is dead, do you know where I can find them? To be sure not to download the wrong files?
EDIT: Files are back on, sorry!
Updated HTC Desire S is HBOOT 2.00.0002 which isn't supported by revolutionnary :-( can't root for now...
Then you need to downgrade first.

Oh I think i'm starting to get it hehe
Is downgrading a simple operation or is it difficult? Shouldn't I wait for revolutionary to support my HBOOT? Will it take long? Sorry for being a noob but I really wanna do things well.
Thanks a lot for your answers!
its simple but please search and read all instructions.it takes 10 sec
Roger that !
Thanks a lot for your help !
I'm pretty sure that htcdev.com will be able to s-off your device. It's not listed in the official devices, but many people reported its working. It seems much easier, as you won't need to downgrade.
I have managed to root and s-off my virgin mobile wildfire s. Now I need help with what to do next. I can't find a rom and I have flashed like a dozen. I haven't found any that work. Anyone with this phone or knowledge on roms for it please send me message. If you a rom please send links as I have a terrible time finding links for the things I have looked for.
Thanks for helping a noob out.

You can try here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314430
its an xda member so the ROM is trustworthy.
found a rom for now
found the Hense mod 6. It is sense which I was trying to get away from but, it works great and has some good tweeks. I think I will wait for a stable version of ICS if it ever happens for the VM WFS .
Hi guys,
I have unlocked my HTC DESIRE S with HTCDEV method and it's S-ON.
Now I want to install the latest MIUI V4 that has just been released and I think in order to do so I need to first downgrade the HBOOT...
I tried this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399331
but when I start putting the commands im not sure it works, when i get to ./zergRush.c I get permission denied
Pleaes help me, I'm desperate
Don't bother. I love MIUI, but there seem to be nothing but problems with the new release at the moment.
