Hi all,
I'm writing a program that imports our contacts into the Contacts db on the phone so they show up in the Contacts app, are available for caller id to draw from, etc. I've got it working the way we want on the emulator and the Motorola Droid. When I go to Menu --> View, I can see our application with a check box next to it, and when it's checked, our contacts show up fine.
However, when I try the same thing on the HTC Evo, the contacts don't show up in People, and I don't have our application listed in the View menu. The contacts show up when I do a search within People, and when the contact calls the phone, their contact info shows up fine.
The contacts I'm testing our application with aren't in the phone already ;-) They're special test cases with unique names; that's how I'm able to determine they are actually coming from our app.
I sort of get the feeling this is a HTC Sense issue, but I don't have a way to confirm that right now. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

The Title pretty much sums it up.
Contacts in my Google Account end up "joining" together so that I cannot find that contact on my phone at all.
Going to Gmail shows all contacts fine.
Typing in the phone number of a contact and dialing will show the "Joined contact's " name. Then I can go in and Menu>>Edit>>Separate...
How can I stop it from happening in the first place?
Most recent ones I've noticed are Al and Alex joining...
Also, my best friend (his full name is the contact) and his parents (who I just have listed by their last name)
There are more that I haven't found yet- but I just want to stop this from happening all together.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Hi all
I'm looking for a way to view the "notes" field in google contacts on my handset. Does anyone know a way? Contacts doesn't appear to show it.
Ideally I'd like a way to view the notes when in a call, or even for the notes to already be displayed on the screen for the contact I'm in a call with.
Any ideas would be great. Cheers
Jonny

try some of the other phonebook apps some allow you see and edit the notes.
Ok, so this is driving me absolutely nuts right now...
I have my facebook synced to my contacts and many of my phone numbers I have gotten from my facebook sync. OK so Joe Schmoe shows up IN MY CONTACTS LIST, phone number is there, profile picture is there, everything is great until I go to send Joe a text. I go into my text messages, start typing his name in the top contacts bar and nothing shows up in the drop down menu. Now lets say i get a text or call from Joe, it will not show his name or picture here either, only his phone number.
So I guess I have two options:
Fix this bull**** show everything shows up how it is supposed to
or
Someone wanna give me a way to export all of my facebook contacts into something or merge them with my current list so it works?
A whole other can of worms is the fact that you cannot edit any facebook sync'd contacts in any sort of way and i think this is the root of my problem...
same i want to sync my contacts from facebook keep their info there but then i sign out and poof their gone and i can't keep it that way? -_-;;
I've done some searching and I haven't seen anyone with a similar problem as I have.
I had a HTC Magic a couple of months back and some of the contacts were listed as favorites. I lost that phone and just bought Evo 3D and all my favorites were transferred to this phone, which is good. However, I wan't to remove some people from favorite and when I look at the contact it says "Groups: Favorites" and when I hit edit contacts and want to remove him from Favorites it says "Groups: None". If I add that same contact to let say, friends group it says "Friends" in the edit section but "Favorites, Friends" in the contact information. I've also checked Gmail contacts and he's not in the "starred in Android" section.
Does anyone know how I can remove this person as favorite?
Thank you.
bump. Please help
Nvm, I got it solved. Resolved.
Hi all,
Long time HTC one X+ user with AOSP Rom..... just switched to Nexus 5. I like N5 but one frustration is about calendar.
I am on work calls most of the time - all my calls have toll free number to dial and then we have to enter conf code # - a typical corporate set up.
on HTC...I was able to open calendar event, click on the toll free number for dialer to show up and dial the number..and then it used to show ..tap here to view calendar event details - I use tap and then view/enter the conf# details, it also had a provision for taking notes. I believe this was default calendar client (or maybe HTC's, not sure)
on N5, I can open the calendar event, click on the phone number, it brings up dialer with phone number and I can dial.... but nothing else - No event details to view or can't do any thing further.
this is a big problem for most users like me as when we dial a number and once connected if we have to enter a conf# etc..we have to go open the calendar event remember the conf#, then go back to dialer and enter the conf#....this is a pain in the neck.
Not sure if I am doing something wrong here...or forgetting anything I rooted my N5 as I do with all my devices....so maybe using a different calendar app makes sense?
thanks for your help..
In reading some articles, looks like the default Calendar app doesn't have these features?
