Import all contacts from outlook in a single way, save it in a folder in your pc, run android, register, go to the market, put vcf and download vcard o, exit from the line, run the program, load the contacts, it will not work....go back to phone and go to contacts, push the button at the bottom on your phone, a curtain with import export contacts will come up, select import all vcf and the contacts will be imported in your device. Hi,
I need to do a hard reset on my device and want to store all my contacts somewhere safe so I don't have to manually input them all again. The problem is I don't use outlook on my PC. Is there any way I can pull them off the Exec and store them on my PC for safe keeping?
I would normally throw them on the SIM but there appears to be no tool to add them all at once and I am not manually moving 150 contacts myself
tried using the good old shortcut called Ctrl+A to choose all at once ?
not sure if the sim have all contact infos like birthdays and work phone and...
like outlook have though

imho then the easy way would be to install outlook and sync with it
and export it to pst file format
uninstall outlook
and if you ever had to restore it
then install outlook once more and import the pst file and then sync once more
not sure about universal but my xda2 came with a cd with outlook
Is it possible to put some kind of file, database I suppose, on my pocket PC and then import that into contacts? If so, to what kind of files should I export my Microsoft Office outlook contacts, where would I place it, and how would I team put it?
(I need to do this because my pocket PC will only sync notes and other files, it will not synchronise contacts, tasks, and calendar.)
PIMbackup will backup most everything, custom settings(some) all contacts and contact pictures to a single backup file which you can copy to another device and restore the backup.
I backed up my contacts using Resco Contact Manager's 'export' feature into a CSV file. Then, since I was in a hurry, I hard resetted my phone. I thought importing the contacts would be simple, I would just imort the CSV file into outlook in my PC.
But if I import the CSV file, all the contacts imported are blank. No info at all. I tried to open the csv file in excel, and it opened successfuly, with all the information in the respective fields.
But Outlook fails to import it. Similarly, I tried PPC PimBackup in my phone. Same problem, blank contacts are imported.
I cannot figure this problem out. Any help?
PS: I also exported the contacts (using resco) as an XML file. But I cannot open the XML file anywhere but notepad as I get an error.
1). Create a new folder on desktop - name = contacts
2). We need all our contacts in .Vcard file. (See below how to get .vcard file)
Now copy this contact folder to your memory card (S.D) of your mobile.
Now go to contacts --- (Android)
click menu button - Import contact from SD card.
All most done !

How to get .vcard file.
In Microsoft outlook --- Contacts --- Select 20-30 contacts at a time, right click the mouse -- Select Send full contact ---> In Internet Format (.Vcard)
Now it will open new email. And you will found all .vcard files in attachment just cut and copy it to the contacts folder created at desktop.
But this is the slow option, we have to do it again and again if we have many contacts because it do not send more than 30 contacts at a time.
Something is better than nothing !!!!!
(BUT ON TOP OF THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE CONTACTS SAVED ON YOUR PC OR LAPTOP SO THAT YOU CAN USE THEM TO COPY IN MOBILE.
