i will be buying a new phone end of this month, i was thinking of the hd2 but after hearing about the desire hd, i really cannot decide, other than the specs, which i feel is sufficient on the hd2, is there anything i should take note of? ive heard that windows mobile is not that good, but how bad is it with normal use like email, web browsing? can anyone clarify, i can get the hd2 for about $600 while the desire hd for $900. is the desire hd really worth it? thx
theres not much difference in terms of hardware. If you want a native android phone then get the Desire HD,if you like the idea of a fun phone to tinker with and duel boot windows and android then get the HD2,you can so much with them.
Yup HD2 for OPTIONS!!! plus they are cheap enogh now (I got mine for $350 AUD on ebay) that it wouldnt take too long for you to save up again if you did decide you wanted a desire hd (but you wont lol) The only reeal thing the desire HD has over HD2 is the screen
HD2
I think getting HD2 is better option as it incorporates much better features.
One more for Leo!
You can have Android and possibly soon WP7 on the same device!
I would choose the desire gd just because I don't like WinMo

+1 for leo
You can play more with HD2 since you can also get android working on it and there is also hope of getting WP7.
I vote for HD2.
I think you should buy HTC Desire HD2. It has more features and it is a more powerful device than Desire HD.

Hi guys
Just wondering what the best Android phone is, in the UK market. I really want it to be good at playing games, playing vids and listening to music. So something really fast and a good screen for multimedia apps. I was looking at Galaxy S and HTC EVO 4G. Are these the best on the market just now?
Cheers guys
Martin
the htc desire hd is the best android phone on the market at the mo
Thanks AndroHero
Has the HTC Desire got the ability to use tilt games, like the iPhone? Like using the phone as a steering wheel when playing driving games
How about the motorola milestone 2?
I'd say it's the Desire HD.
Though the Desire is also a great phone, I prefer it since it has a 3.7" screen compared to a 4.3" of the HD. Though the HD has more RAM and a better GPU.
BTW, the Desire HD is the worldwide version of the Evo 4G though better it seems.
and yep. The phone supports tilt games =)
Thanks guys for your feedback. Is it correct the Desire wont be able to upgrade to Android 3?
I'd say galaxy S. SAMOLED screen is awesome and the samsung hummingbird is faster than snapdragon.
My choice is HTC EVO 4G

He said in the UK.
I have the EVO 4G (U.S. only) too and its awesome for games, so I recommend the international version which is the Desire HD. Not the regular Desire, but with HD in the name.
If you use your phone for mostly personal, then the Desire HD is the way to go. If you use your phone for business, I would recommend the Desire Z (smaller and has a keyboard)

Thanks again guys for your feedback. I think the HTC Desire HD looks amazing, and would love to go down that route. But I am trying to keep my monthly cost to £25 per month. So might have to wait a while for it to come down in price.

HD2 will be a good choose for you, U can install andriod on it 2.
Desire HD got a better GPU then HD2, multitouch support up to 4 fingers, 720p video recording, 8Mpx camera and official Gingerbread from HTC. So I would go for the Desire HD.
Ok heres my 2 cents,
I have an HD2 which i have dual booting with droid.
When i want it super stable and reliable i use the stock windows rom (great for business use for which it was really designed, email etc)
When im home i use droid, much more user friendly, better surfing web, market place is better (apps) etc.
Windows will always be my first choice, droid is for fun (angry birds etc)
Remember, the HD2 you can have both, with the desire hd your stuck with droid.
Windows is reliable, solid and functional, droid is more "iphonish" if that helps
Good luck
thx. i actually have an ipod touch for my apps and games, so my purpose of the hd2 is just emails, web browsing and phone calls. does the dual booting with android work smoothly(like on the desire) or is there some lags?
Like I said, desire HD got a far better gpu so games will do much better on desire HD (and overall smoothness). I'd definitely choose the phone that can do better performances then a phone that does windows mobile(which sucks IMHO).

Like i said, purely subjective question and answer, i dont game and heavily rely on for business. That said, droid is very user friendly.
Chow.
I was in the same situation and had to choose between these 2 phones.
I wanted to have the HTC Desire HD first but had to save that money because its not that cheap.
Now I found a HTC HD2 for 300€ and Im gonna buy that one now. I can put android on it.
Now I can save more money and buy one of the great phones that will come out next year.
Hi guys. I am planning to buy one of those phones listed above. Please help me decide. I dont know what to buy. I love Samsung google nexus S but ive seen so manyy nega feedbacks about it. what are the pros and cons of HTC desire HD and Samsung Google Nexus S. Please help me guys. About the software, is there any issue on google nexus S? and is google nexus S gonna get every update on android? and how about desire HD?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
CHEERS!
For me the Nexus S is the more desirable of the two because it is stock Android. I just don't see the need for Sense bloatware...but that's just me

yes but the desire is very easy to root and S-off so you can get it to stock pretty easily using a rom like cyanogen 7
my friend has a nexus S and i still like my DHD better even if it is from a purely aesthetic point of view, performance is pretty much the same @ stock but i think the nexus responds to overclocking better than the DHD thats if you actually plan on overclocking.
The HTC Desire HD has HTC Sense HD.... its great!
And you have SOFF and Root so you can put plan Android on it.
U can do this at the Nexus S too but i think the Desire HD is the better Phone! Just because of Sense and its look
thats a touph decision, they are both great phones.
buy them both.
I cant afford to buy them both.. im still a 16 yr old student andd i have two phones. i am planning to sell them and buy nexus S. andd have another with a black and white screen :|
Im thinking rly hard for these, i like the design of Nexus S and its pure android. i can get each and every update that will be released on the next months. i also like DHD but its design is a no no for me.typical rectangular shaped phone and im also worried about its updates because DHD might not get future updates.
Naaah, im really confused.
Thanks for your replies sir *salutes*
EDIT: and also ive heard that the battery of the HTC desire HD sucks. what should i do? help please. thanks!
Nexus S = no sd card
Is it true that the Nexus S has no SD Card slot? That would be the deal breaker for me to not get that phone.
Get a Hd2, the most customizable phone going, you can then use a desire or froyo or gingerbread rom, or even wp7 if you fancy it.

If I could choose between Nexus S, DHD and HD2, i would definately take the HD2! Hardware of the DHD and HD2 are nearly the same and it costs only half of the DHD. You can choose out of many OS's and the Android-feeling on the HD2 is native.
If you want a short answer:
There is no big difference between these phones, only the price matters.
First I wasn't sure if I should by the DHD or HD2 and I took the latter. A used HD2 but in very good condition for 180€ is a fair price. And DHD for 450€ is too expensive for me as a 17y old student ;D
Hi guys, I'm going to get a new phone, windows mobile 6.5 is really old as of now. Android seems the best and I want to get an android
So I can get Incredible S and Desire S,
Incredible S is $311 whereas Desire S is $201
I am in a dilema on which to get. I don't want to settle for a simple phone. I want the best. Which one would you guys pick? I really am tempted to get desire s as it is cheaper. But I'm afraid I'd hate the text in a 3.7inch screen as I text ALOT.
Please advice
The desire is ok, it has a bit of a problem with the internal memory, actually the 'android linux stuff' has the problem, but to cut the long story short, get the incredible because of the internal memory, otherwise they are pretty much the same, not sure about the camera, 3,7 screen is just fine.
or the desire Z
as for the best it'll be the htc pyramid not far off since its twin , the evo3d is already out
i am really satisfied with my desire running leedroid, its a matter of personal taste but htc sense is my favourite launcher
I have a desire HD and love the extra screen real-estate. Some people feel it's too big for their pockets - I recommend visiting a retailer and playing with them and decide on that. Doesn't mean you have to buy from them
as long as its a desire you'll be happy
DROID 2 GLOBAL looks fantastic tbh
Especially if you will be signing a contract on this phone, I like to future-proof myself as much as possible. Have a feeling the Inc S will give you more mileage.
theres so many phones out there now adays but i think its really a toos uip between iphone and andriods
hey think also in the future when u will want to sell it ..wich one do you think will resist more?
Hi, im looking to buy a htc phone. and would like some suggestions as to which one?
i have previously owned a htc wildfire which i thought was too slow and not capable to run some games. However, the android software itself was great.
I have heard that the htc desire, is the next upgrade from the wildfire?
Which htc phone would you recommend priced reasonably and has a decent cpu which does not tend to run slow and is capable to run most games and apps?
any suggestions are much appreciated.
Htc evo or thunderbolt if u need a phone right now but if your in no hurry and could wait wait for the htc evo 3d
Hi, ok ill have a look into them phones.
btw, im from the uk and if im right not all the models which are available in the us are for sale in the uk?
that can be done by googling
The htc evo has great awsome dev support which allow us tons of different custom roms and themes. most of the devs that are for the evo are going to the evo 3d so the evo 3d is gonna get a bunch of great devolophers so yeah i recommend evo or evo 3d
the UK phone-market is almost identical to that of Australia. here the best options are probably the Incredible S or just wait a little while and get the market topping Sensation.
Both good phones with enough CPU power to chew through all average apps!
Desire S is great in upper end but Wildfire S is superb for medium range...
okay thanks for the suggestions so far.
ive narrowed it down too 2 phones
the htc desire hd and the desire s.
which one would you say is the better from the 2?
regards.
HTC desire hd

You do gaming. My suggestion bought used HD2 TMOUS with 1024 ROM you can do alot with this dinosaurus. The beast is considered OLD but this is one of Masterpiece of htc released. I hold IncrAPdible S now with (very sad S-ON) upgraded to 2.3.3 by htc via FOTA. But I also hold HD2 wwe version. I loved HD2. I will not buy HTC again unless they confirmed no other locked the boot-loader. I search a lot of web pages no lucks to find how to root my IncrAPdible S.
Go and get HD2, make dual boot then you can play any games you like
have great day
