Swapped my Vibrant for a MyTouch 4G...
No more lag.
No more SamSUCK's retarded file system.
No more waiting for 2.2
No more lack of a camera flash.
No more lack of a Front facing camera
No more lack of HSPA+
No more TouchWiz
and best of all NO MORE GPS problems!!!
I just can't honestly believe how much faster this phone is. The Vibrant was awful. Slow as hell. Benchmarks were in the 900s with Quadrant. This is twice as much. So it's screen is not amoled and Expresso Sense is less to be desired. At least I dont have to put with SamSUCK's crap anymore and extremely poor support. 2.3 is out already and Samsuck's Galaxy S line is still stuck with 2.1 (officially that is) But why should we have to rely on leaks to get updates.
The Vibrant was so beautiful but I should have known better to get a Samsuck. They always fall short, always!!! Never fails. Look at the Nexus S. No HSPA+ and no microSD slot??? Seriously WTF????
Glad I found this forum. Thanks to you guys I also managed to get a MyTouch with the good screen
Welcome! Was your Sammy permarooted? Some of those problems could have been fixed with it. I came from the same phone and never looked back! Time for some fun!
I just got my phone today and having owned a Vibrant before I gotta say I agree. This phone is great! Oh and you forgot one,
No more cheap plastic feeling!
Haha, im waiting for something a little better from verizon, but I agree, I went back to my incredible because the galaxy s phones blow loads of ass

lol yup. I miss the SAMOLED screen but I just couldn't take it anymore . I can't honestly believe Google contracted Samsuck to make a dev phone for them.
I have the Vibrant and My wife just bought the 4g. Both are great phones. I have owned every android phone that Tmobile has had with the exception of the behold 2 and my Vibrant is the best phone that I have ever owned. All I have to say about the Vibrant is that if you touched one that had been blessed by the developers here at XDA you might not have gotten rid of it so quickly.
I love the MT4g as well it has that solid feel that I loved from the N1. It has a real quality feel to it. But this phone has its quirks as well. They all do. The Video capture is real laggy and her phone will not go into the time out state no matter what time frame I set it to.
I dislike samsung phones... but you know what like about them.
There HDTV's. lol
lol +1
Samsung is pretty but that is all it has going for it
The Vibrant could have been a great phone, had it not been manufactured by Samsung. Samsung just insists on doing rather quirky things to their phones (RFS, lack of camera flash, extremely slow support - if any support at all). As I've mentioned many times, when I had the Vibrant, it seemed like I spent more time trying to get the phone to work the way it should, instead of enjoying it. I've lost count of how many ROMs I flashed to it.
When I got the MT4G, I dropped the Vibrant like a bad habit and never looked back. No more Samsung phones for me.
@MagentaUser:
The Nexus S also doesn't have HD video recording.
Im glad I switched from the vibrant to the mt4g. This phone is solid except for the video recording.

I totally agree. So much potential. Samsung was really on to something. They could have easily given HTC a good run for their money. But they always fall short. I've always known that about Samsung from the past but I when I saw the Vibrant in the store, I fell in love with it. At the time, it was best in T-Mo's lineup. Who could blame anyone for getting a Vibrant at that point when all they had was MyTouch 3G slide and low-end Motorolas.
A friend tried to help by introducing me to XDA and installing different roms like Macnut, etc. But they all had bugs. The Picture messaging didnt work right on some of them, battery life was terrible on some, etc. I loved my phone at first but then the lag got to me, the GPS problems, Seeing countless friends with Froyo already. (**** the Evo got it 4 months ago!) Poor support from Samsung!
It would be a miracle at this point if Vibrant owners get Gingerbread. I doubt it. It's ridiculous. The Galaxy S line should have shipped with Froyo! Didn't the Evo already have it when the Epic came out?
Wow no video recording???? NO effin way!! That can't be. Major fail if it is. You sure it not a mistake
The vibrant has video recording. Pretty nice at that.

I had for two months a MT4G and first I hated it because it was so different. I came from a Nexus One with Stock Froyo and Sense UI was overwhelming me. After 2 months I really appreciated all the small nice features that HTC integrated that stock android never had. Additionally, the MT4G is a great, fast and well built phone (I had also trouble with squeaky buttons and the bad screen) and Froyo 2.2.1 with Sense was running very smoothly on it. Last weekend I dropped my MT4G and the screen broke and the buttons and trackpad scratched. So I took the opportunity to buy the Samsung Nexus S. I wanted to give it a try and wanted to see how gingerbread looks. The phone is nice except the already known flaws. The SAMOLED is for my taste too dark and not sharp enough. But I could definitely live with that. The most disappointing thing was gingerbread. I couldn't believe what a half baked version of android Google put on this phone. It's embarrassing. The browser is useless with or without flash because it is not hardware accelerated? Everything is choppy and laggy. I had the MT4G before and its browser is smooth and fast. The NS is a pain while scrolling between homescreens....it lags, it misses swipes it drove me nuts. I tried several homelaunchers and the lag on the homescreen and the missed swipes were still present. I wanted to try the FFC just to realize that it is not supported by any 3rd market software (Tango doesn't really work) and neither by Google itself. Are you really kidding me? Yesterday after a week I had enough. Today I returned the phone mainly because of gingerbread and I am happily awaiting my MT4G. I will buy one tonight and I couldn't be more happy with HTC and Sense. I am not even anxiously waiting for gingerbread anymore for my MT4G.
thanks, may pass on the nexus s and wait for another 4g phone before switching to tmobile. thought about buying a new mytouch 4g and trading it for the nexus s and going on a two year contract .

The problem was probably it being by Samsung. Many users have reported Gingerbread running fine on HTC phones.

Could be. But most of the bugs should have been observed prior to release of this phone. The browser lag, flash unusable and that the phone reboots while on the phone doesn't sound like they tested the NS vigorously. The Nexus S is officially not a dev phone and to put something like that to BestBuy is unbelievable. BTW I had two Nexus S and both were buggy.
gingerbrad on the mytouch 4g runs amazing.. its the nexus s lol.
id still trade my mytouch 4g for one though. idk why

I'm tempted to, hopefully going to check it out tomorrow. If I like it I may purchase a mytouch 4g for $99 on a two year contract. Trade the mytouch 4g for a nexus s then, and still have my old mytouch 4g which I purchased off craigslist for $250 brand new.
I have now my MT4G again and I am so happy with it. Try the Nexus S before you buy it. Stock Android and the Nexus line are dead for me.

Got the best of both worlds here... MT4G running cm7 which is basically gingerbread ..

I had the same experience like you. I bought one of CL pretty cheap and sold it shortly after, later on i acquired 2 brand new in box Nexus S and sold it, the thing is i was never tempted to try on the phone again.
I found the same flaws you had in the Nexus S. The phone feels slow, more like a reskined vibrant with gingerbread. While i think 2.3 is nice because higher build android means always better but after using so many stock roms i don't buy the GOOGLE EXPERIENCE anymore, let me explain:
Basic things like dialer, is a pain in the a** to scroll through the call logs or contact list to call someone, yeah favorite helps but that is another extra step you have to take when making a call. HTC's dialer while overloaded it can easily search through your contact list when you touch dial their name on the numpad. Then you get the bonus of recording calls for important things you need out of the box without the need to wait for the deving team.
The stock browser sucks, no text reflow, well yes the nexus s owners will tell you to press on the zoom in/out soft buttons to reflow, again another extra steps.
Then the whole lag in a phone that is not suppossed to lag. Browser lags and the OS just doesn't feel as smooth as one hope to be, well feels smooth brand new but after some usage it starts to drag on its knees.
Well again the GOOGLE EXPERIENCE of customizing your phone the way you want is just plain old when back in the days android was in the baby stages the theme builders and custom launchers did a great job but i think that the users want something that works out of the box with higher level of customization than iOS.
I've went through 3 mytouch 4G, because my family members keept liking the phone so much that they wanted one for themselves and they are all been pleased, and none of them are android savy and cared enough about rooting or custom roms.
So in summary the nexus s is a nieche phone, the phone is for people who can put up with the shortcommings of a unfinished product and the patience of waiting for google to release updates. While new phones are released in the market every months I bet the nexus model will not have many followers after people see google released a half baked phone and OS when in a few months people can get dual core phones and LTE phones, google nexus one owners are still with their FULL GOOGLE EXPERIENCE and patiently waiting for "optimizations" from google. I just find it funny, it was a great thing with the nexus one because it was actually a great phone but the NS is just a quick wrapped product for the holiday season.
I know if I said that in the Nexus S forums, i'd get flamed because there are a bunch of nexus s owners that dropped 580 for the phone and need to somehow keep their ego high but this is how i feel about this whole nexus s phone.
So in summary if google released another phone, i'd really have to consider it because plain android is getting boring after 2 years of the same stuff from the G1, MT3G, Nexus1, G2, Nexus S...
Not to diss on custom rom builders either because custom roms takes time to build and by the time you have a very well composed rom, the phone has reached its EOL.
yes the nexus s does seem half baked, the nexus one was a solid phone and wouldn't mind picking up another one.

LOL. I know what you mean. I still don't understand why some people with NS have no problems at all; I had two and both had the same problems. Either they immediately root their phones and put some custom roms on it or they are ignorant. I try yo get the best bang for my bucks and at the moment it is the MT4G with Froyo. I don't even want a custom rom with gingerbread 2.3.1 on my MT4G at the moment. I wait until Gingerbread includes the new music player and GTalk supports the FFC. Let's hope soon
I had the same experience. I had a Nexus S for 2 weeks and it was terribly laggy.
I sent it back. Lucky I hadn't sold my MyTouch yet because now with CM7 Gingerbread is super snappy and amazing.
I blame Samsung. I had the Vibrant before the MT4G and it sucked as well.

Regarding the screen on the NS, I just realized that I am not a big fan of SAMOLED displays. I would always prefer a SLCD. I like the bright and sharp displays over the more vibrant but less sharp SAMOLED.
I got the NS and had it for a week and returned it.
So disappointing, the worst was not having a track pad.
Same day bought a MT4G off Craigslist.
First day I hated it, the stock browser is the worst I've ever seen.
Then I got Skyfire off the market and now I think the MT4G is the best
phone I've ever used.
I'm not giving up on the Nexus line, I still have an N1, I'm just giving up on Samsung.
Is anyone here are excited about Samsung Vibrant 4G? FFC and HSPA+ up to 21mbps? but the same old style lol..what is up with Samsung? can't they change their style? hehehe
Ewww I see Samsung failed and at it again, they have a thing for repeating and screwing users over and over. IDK why people even buy Samsung based phones these days didn't they learn from being abandoned?
BTW epsix read this thread MT4G is capped at 14.4 mb's about new Vibrant 4G in this forum we all covered it there. Its just marketing gimmick hence TMO haven't officially updated the Vibrant with 2.2 OTA? You know why? due to Samsung telling them not to as there is no diff between 4G and reg Vibrant lol other than it has AOS2.2 lol man you have to love Samsung they sure thing people are crazy or something.
PS: Folks stick with MT4G is superior than NS.
Im so confused on which one to get. I mean the SGS2 is a vibrant with 4g pretty much? And i dont know if the nexus s has 4g capability? I can get the sgs4 for 139. and the nexus s off best buy for 99. Really want to based this on development. So any info i would appericate it
nexus is best your choice .
Can you give me a more detailed answer as in why? I mean i like the sgs4 cause i always liked the vibrant. But the nexus s does have development. The only thing that scares me is the Internal 16gb which will lead into corrupting if a bad flash is done!
I recently had to make the same decision and had friends with both I borrowed for a week.
The nexus s is amazingly fast. It boots and shuts down in a fraction of the time. It has flash for the camera. It has gps that actually works right out of the box. It has a cooler design and a much more solid feel. It has the nfc that you will probably never use. It has premium support and google ota updates of the newest stuffs. The usb port also has a much nicer feel.
Video playback is poor compared to the vibrant.
It lacks support for most 3d games.
There is no sd card slot
No gorilla glass
I have owned several vibrants and everything that is true for them is true for the sgs4g. The screen is amazing and is protected by gorilla glass. Video playback is second to none. Games play like a dream.
Gps is essentially unusable on most handsets.
The case is cheap feeling and looking.
No flash for camera
I decided video playback and game support was more important than flash and gps but I am upset those are the best choices. You might be wise to just wait for the price to drop on the x2.
Texted While Driving
Im coming from sprint. I had both evo and epic. The evo had great devs, while the epic has little to no support at all. CM7 and MIUI are still in alpha stages. I just dont want the sgs4 to be like the epic. I was looking at the lg gxs or whatever their having alot of issues on the first batch released(bleeding screen, phone wont connect to 3g) Mt4g(feels cheap though) sgs4 or nexus are the only ones i would consider getting.
If I could go back in time I would choose the mt4g rooted with cm7, sgs4g has its benefits like said earlier except I don't use it for movies or gaming I bounce between apps often and fast and the sgs4g would sometimes lag.
So I bought the g2x and while it is wicked fast and extremely strong with already great support for development, the phone has its issues and chooses when the issues will come up, I would just go scan the general thread for the g2x real quick
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
It seems to me, the SGS4G is slow to get developer support for ROMS and such. That is the only reason I regret owning one. However, after rooting and applying the FOTA fix, it is a cool phone.
From my understanding, phones like the Nexus will have tons of ROMS and customization because they are not tainted by integrations such as Samsung's Touch Wiz and are easier to work with.

Sgs4g I like the video playback but thats just my opinion. Gps is pretty good for me and it is true no dev support on the sgs4g I mean not as much as other phonea so of you are looking to play around with the phone like changing roms and kernels stuff like that I wouldnt recommend unless you dont mind waiting which is my case I dont mind waiting so I dont have any complaints. One last thing it does lag here and there but is not that bad. Really cant say much about nexus s I havent even play with it. G2x was mentioned it is a beast pgone but I went to the g2x forums and there were a los of complaints with the screen you ahould go check it out. Best thing to do is just go to the forums of each device and read about it, comments and complaints and it would help a lot.

I think the sgs4g is the best device I've owned but thats after doing some system tweaks like getting root, freezing some apps, alter minfree to strict settings for better ram handling when swapping applications, changing the disk scheduler to deadline, doing the fota files fix and getting a class 6 micro sd card. After all that this phone has never lag or failed period. But out the box...is fast. Once u have used it for about a week or two thats when you could start seing lag by either apps you have downloaded and new services running in the background not counting the unnecesary ones that were already running when you first get it...gps works flawlesly and so does everything else, but thats after you hack the phone the way you want it...
Up to you though...

The only reason the Nexus s is any faster is because it came stock with the ext4 file system. Our phones have the same file system as the Vibrant (rfs) It is not efficient, and that is where our lag is coming from.
We will start seeing some ROMS that will have ext4 built into them. When we do get this we will see quad scores around 1700-1800. To give you an idea our phones stock will score around 900. EXT4 ruffly doubles the speeds of the system. Now if you add ext4 with an overclocked kernel. The scores will be around if not higher than 2000.
This phone will be very fast and stable in not to long.
Thanks guys for the help. I went to go play with the following phones today:
g2x- Front looks really nice, and the display showed sharped for lcd. BUT my epic seems faster? and the back of the phone is FUGLY I mean the color, color........color lol! Reminds me of those cheap boost mobile off the wall colors. A case may solve that problem but i wouldnt pay 200 for it knowing how the back looked to me.
g2- Fast little thing, seen the potiental of it on xda, pretty much a better looking sprint htc evo shift 4G. BUT the demo hinge was BARELY on the phone. Soo going have to pass on that looks like a future problem.
mt4g- The best one of the group. Fast, comfortable in hand, light and Fast and xda support helps it there in my book. BUT its looks cheap. I mean how the color contrast clash on the phone. If i got one had to be either be the red one or white one.
sgs4- Some idiot STOLE THE DEMO! soooo i gotta go back tomorrow to look at it!!!
Nexus s- Actually locally a guy was selling one on CL. So i meet him to look at it. the screen is awesome of course cause of the superman screen lol! BUT the phone Looks cheaper than the mt4g!!!! I mean its all plastic and black gloss. Drop it and your gonna be hurting really bad. Also you have to deal with best buy and google since they sell it and tmobile just provides the service. I may sound anal but im a complex thinker and i always think ahead of myself.
Whole day of researching and im still confused and dont know which one to get lol!!!!

I'm a proud owner of a G2x... though some screens have bleeding issues.... mine doesn't... There are plenty of G2x's that are doing just fine, it's just easier to complain.... If you do have issues, you will have a 1 year warranty which means you will be able to switch it when new batches come out and by then issues should have been fixed... Whatever you do BUY THE PHONE IN STORE to test the device... Play with the settings and everything! If you are going to get a phone GET THE BEST there is to offer you and right now that would be the G2x...
SGS4G and Nexus S both have their flaws and are similar devices... The Nexus S isn't 4g capable (if that matters to you)... the SGS4G isn't anything to dazzle over and the Touch Wiz UI isn't my favorite... If you can wait a little longer it may be worth looking at the HTC Sensation...
No offense but i dont see why people rave so much about the sensation. Its a dual core evo 4g. Had two evo 4g when i was with sprint.......Nothing special. Sure it will probably have a bunch of dev support. But to me its not something wanting on for.
But after reading more reviews and seeing on the g2x side. Its not seeming so bad now. Also you have to consider that im coming to tmobile so late while the g2 mt4g and nexus s are kinda old i guess you can say. Even though the g2 and mt4g will get 2.3 but i think thats about it for them as OTA updates.
the Nexus S 4G...on TMO...would be......oh wait...why am I dreaming again
Get teh Samsung Galaxy S4G if you're planning to get a data plan and actually use it
SGS4
Very low internal space, 200MB as apposed to the Vibrants 16G. The phone benchmarks pretty low. But it does have the fastest antenna at 21mbs.
Nexus S
Wow it has a curved screen..... but no SD card support???? Why? Pretty cool but the download speeds will be lower because no 4g support.
If you're looking for the best I suggest the G2x or G2. I personaly use the G2 and it is amazing. But tmo just launched the G2x and it is to die for. Amazing 8MP camera, dual core processor, hdmi out for hdtv support. Get that if anything, the two phones you're deciding between have already been out dated by the G2x.
Sent from my Vision using XDA App
Wait til the Sensation or even better the SGS 2....but wait something will come out better right after...mytouch 4g slide anyone...??
It sounds like the price is a concern of the op.... I say go for the nexus s... the network speed increase with the sgs4g is not enough to overcome the lack of developer support. And its cheaper. Then again... the g2x is your best choice ATM... if you have the $$$.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I had the SGS4G and exchanged it for the G2x and I have no regrets. This phone is amazingly fast and responsive and dev support is already awesome. Within 2 or 3 days the phone had clockworkmod working through ROM manager.
Pretty amazing. Plus Cyanogen, Team Whiskey and others already got the phone and are working on the ROM.
If you still have a choice I say go with the G2x. Dual core is future proof. Just came out, so this phone will probably be good for the next 2 years.
Hope that helps with your decision

I've currently got a Vibrant, and my stepmom's phone is near the end of it's life- My parents are offering to buy my phone from me and so I'm looking at my options.
What does everyone here think of this phone? Anyone an ex-Vibrant user who can compare experiences for me? Thanks very much!
I didn't have a Vibrant... I wanted one though, does that count?
I recommend this phone to everyone... except future people who have quad cores on a Super-Duper AMOLED screen running Rainbow Sherbert(Android 7.4 duh).
Seriously though, it has some quirks, but is a bad a** phone...

I would not.
It has potential and I'm glad that a lot of the major developers are on board, but right now it's broken- both in stock form and in the aftermarket. Until the stock ROM can at least be said to work (and right now there are more than a few major issues) I think a recommendation of "Do Not Buy" is a good one.
And for you, specifically, coming from a Vibrant would suck since you're moving from a phone with non-working GPS to a phone with non-working GPS. Wouldn't you at least like to navigate properly once before you die?

I have to disagree. This phone is amazing. I had some minor issues running stock, but once I rooted and flashed its been smooth sailing for me. I'm running the Ultimate G2X rom and couldn't be happier with it. Everything works fine, including GPS.
I'm not denying that some have issues with their phones, but not all of us do. It really is an awesome phone and I'd recommend it to anyone. I do recommend buying it new though, in case you do have a defeectice unit so you can return it.
I've had the vibrant since release. The g2x is definitely an upgrade, though not a huge one. Gaming on the vibrant is probably better than any other single core phone so you're probably not going to notice much improvement, the screen is great, speed is decent. Even though both the vibrant and g2x have their software quirks, EVERYTHING works on the g2x(gps in particular works everytime for me where the vibrant was hit or miss, mostly miss).

I can say that I do recommend this phone. I don't think a lot of people have major issues, I certainly don't, and I bought it used in excellent condition. Tegra 2 is amazing for gaming, and everything is just really fast in general.
I came from a G2, which had a physical keyboard, easily removable battery door, and LED light. The G2x has none of these, but the only thing I really miss is the LED light, which can be remedied with an app called LG 2x/Black notifications that uses the capacitive buttons as an LED indicator
I had the Vibrant and the Vibrant 4G. When the G2X was announced, I jumped on it. I would buy it again but if you're watching new releases, there's a sweet Vibrant Galaxy S 2 comming to USA kinda soon....

Honestly? Sure, the G2X is probably better than the Vibrant...
However....
It's not THAT much better. I would save the upgrade for the NEXT generation phone after the G2X and Sensation. As far as I'm concerned, the Vibrant isn't suffering from old age yet, like the MyTouch 3G it replaced for me! Of course, the MyTouch 3G was born Geriatric.
Nah, i wouldn't recommend this phone.
Reboots.
Freezes.
Screen bleeding.
Wifi connection.

Thanks all for the replies... One other thing: How brick-proof is this thing? I'm loving having ODIN on my vibrant (I'm always flashing ROMs and kernals), and ODIN is a big reason why I've been really hesitant to drop the Samsung (well, and the screen and onboard memory and battery...)
Thanks again!
The title says it all.
Infuse has its own plus points (S-AMOLED, better battery backup)
while optimus 2x has full CM7 support, 1080p hd recording, dual core etc.
so.....what say you?

I'd pick Samsung over LG any day. Esp with the screen in Captivate and Infuse, I am unable to go to any other phone
well....since you put it that way, lg all the way!
LG Junk is junk.
Infuse w/ MIUI > LG w/ CM7.
I had the LG g2x and it was the worst phone I ever owned hands down. Had horrible LCD backlight bleed, went through 3 replacements and they all had it.

The title says it all.
Infuse has its own plus points (S-AMOLED, better battery backup)
while optimus 2x has full CM7 support, 1080p hd recording, dual core etc.
so.....what say you?

Depends, how often are you gonna record videos? How much gaming do you do? (I'm not talkin Angry Birds here, I mean games that will use the dual cores)
If you do either one of these on a daily basis go for LG, BUT in all reality, 720p video is still pretty damn good, my M11x laptop is 720p and still looks crystal clear
Now, how many times are you going to use your screen?? Haha ya...Infuse wins that one. The screen is the main selling point of the Infuse, and trust me, I was sold after first look.
We've got CM7, not fully supported, but it's here and once official GB gets here, who knows what will happen.
Galaxy s 2. Or galaxy nexus.
Notice motorola and lg, both switched to omap4 on there new phones. The Tegra2 sux.
The infuse while great is old news, three gs2 is super fast and threw galaxy nexus had an even bigger better screen. But its not unmanageable. The screen had a different aspect ratio making it 1mm narrower than the infuse while being about 5mm taller.

NEXUS......Hands Down.
Aren't the two on different carriers?
i worked for tmobile when we brought out the g2x. i love the specs and almost stock android
but the phone had tons of problems, random reboots, and tons and tons of other issues. (which is why we stopped getting stock for a month or so)
although we never officially admitted it. so if your buying a used one i would say def not, a new or recent batch, should be okay

^Nuff Said lol but ya if the Infuse or Optimus isn't your only options, look around some more... Galaxy Nexus will definitely be my next phone!

which reminds me, tell your lady friends to never have naked or semi naked pics on their phone, if u show a cell phone rep there ur phone for w/e reason, they will go through them , and or show them to other people, and or post them on the internet
lol
it was really frustrating, people wiht g2x would come in with tons oif problems like random reboots, unresponsiveness, light bleeding, and we were told to pretend like nothing was wrong and tell them it wasnt happening to most people lol . (then again it wasnt a coprorate tmobile)
Well i do film videos of hd quality fairly often, and game ever-so-intermittently.
The main issue here is whether or not the infuse is "future proofed".
Rumours suggest that the o2x might be getting ICS (via CM9) at the dawn of 2012 whilst the infuse having no official cm7 support might be left behind.
As for the 02x, i'll be purchasing a brand new one, will it still suffer the backlight bleeding, random reboots etc etc? heard they were fixed with the latest 2.3.4 update, but correct me if i'm wrong.
And in my budget, these 2 are the only real options.
I almost got that LG, ended up going to AT&T instead of Tmobile though (cuz Tmobile lied to me) anyway the infuse is what I ended up having to settle for due to choosing AT&T ...dude I thought I wanted the LG more, I was wrong! I love the infuse. Go Sammy. Nexus if you could, but if not you'll be happy with the infuse for awhile still.
Or you can wait for his big brother the "note" to make it through immigration

The note is my next phone. I just wanna see what new cool ass stuff the devs can cook up for a phone with that much potential. I have to say i love my infuse though, its taken some of the pain out of waiting for the note i dont think I'll ever buy a non-samsung phone again.

my favorite thing about Samsung is theirs screens (which doesnt surprise me because of their tv screen quality)
the only bad thing about samsung/att is that they make os updates take much longer to get to your phone. (the infuse still doesnt have gb, and a new os is dropping already)

Well, to make it short I found someone interested in doing an even swap on their used LG G2X for my mint Infuse4G.
Has anyone here actually owned or handled both devices and would like to offer their view on it? Since I have never really handled a G2X I am not sure it would be worth it in the long run.
Obvious advantages are:
Dual core, supposedly official ICS update, fully functional CM7 including Bluetooth ?
Things I will miss the most that I can think of right now:
The 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus, and super stable hardware when running 2.3 Gingerbread.
Wolfson DAC on the G2X is also a big plus.
~Thanks
I don't know how their phones are but from working in a repair shop that fixes electronics I've come to learn that LG makes crappy products.
If i'm not mistaken the infuse has a Wolfson DAC as well.
I had a g2x now I have an infuse, I used both with TMobile, the g2x was awesome when I had it , but I love how big the screen is on the infuse, but the screen on the g2x, tbh I would love To go back to the g2x cause this edge is super annoying. G2X= awesome!!!

Why would you get an lg phone.... they suck. My friend went through 6 lg phones before he went with some sort of an htc phone. If you just use your phone regularly then go with the g2x. If you want a phone with a better screen and probably better development, go with the infuse.
Omg...u remind me of my super bad experience with t-mobile. Yes i had the g2x when it first came out, so excited, but the first day of use: random reboot ALL THE TIME (while calling, in my pocket, while charging), the battery gets super hot as if it was about to explode, while calling the proximity sensor always ****s up, it wont let the screen turn back on when its away from ur head until u reboot the phone. I was in my 2 weeks of trial so i decided to exchange it for another one: exactly the same **** happened. I told myself, it could be the software, so i installed custom roms, same ****. So i did another exchange: SAME PROBLEM!!! so please dont ever get that piece of ****, clear the word LG from ur head. I went to At&T becuz tmobile tricked me to get stuck with their 2 years agreement even though i was still in my trial period, but thus is another long story...
If u r with at&fees, stay with ur infuse or get the galaxy S2 or S3 to get dual core and 4g. If u r with tmobile ditch ur infuse because u will never get fast internet and get a SAMSUNG tmobile phone

LG products (TV, fridge, washer dryer) have always been amazing to me except its mobile phones . Why do they suck with their phones so badly?

ive used the g2x for months. dont even compare these phones infuse blows it out of the water.
Pheww, what a mistake that was.
Within a period of 48 hours, I went from Infuse to G2X to Infuse again and just now I just sold the G2X to make up for buying a new Infuse.
I am sure my wife probably thinks I am a nut case by now.
Oh, well. Its good to be back!
You may laugh at me now, heh.
Don't get a G2X.
It's a terrible device.
I am an ex-owner of a G2X, which I returned due to quality problems. It's not the only one that I found online with problems. I chose the Infuse over the G2X and the Infuse is so much better.
Here's why:
1.Screen bleeds at the corners: terrible.
2.Camera is very cheap, and the quality and focus accuracy are bad. 1080p is sluggish.
3.Online reviews said the battery life was very short. That was an understatement.
4.The one I got had a bright spot on the IPS screen.
So, all in all. Be a dear and don't torture yourself with such a terrible device.
Thank you for your consideration.

EDIT: Oops didn't see your post. Oh well. This better be a lesson for future owners...
