Hi everyone. Purchased myself a rebel sim card programmer to update my current rebel sim to newest version.
Received the compact programmer and it didn't come with drivers because windows update is supposed to find them.
It installs one driver and then has to install another which fails.
I am running W7 64bit. I tried manually installing the driver packages but it searches my system for the packaged drivers and says it cannot install. I tried forcing it to install the drivers but none of them work.
Can someone please assist me?

I am sure several people are having this problem. I tried searching, and found some answers, but need some further clarification.
First off, I am on a 2008 Intel Macbook. I have Parallels Desktop installed, running Windows Professional SP2.
My issue is that when I run ActiveSync, my device is not detected. I have the USB to be run on Parallels, have all the drivers, to no avail.
I have Missing Sync for Windows Mobile running on OSX aswell. That is useful for installing CABs and .exe, but I haven't found a way to flash my device alternatively.
I did try the MicroSD flashing method, but when I format my device in FAT32, transfer the necessary .nbh file, and boot in Bootloader mode, the screen does not change from the white with blue "loading..." text. The MicroSD card is 4GB.
I am hoping you guys can help me figure out a way to flash a ROM to my device on the OSX platform.
Thanks in advance, and I hope you don't find me arrogant for starting a new thread on this topic.
TO ADD: I get the following error trying to run HARDSPL.:
The application failed to load required components. If the .NET Compact Framework is installed on a storage card, please ensure that this card is in place and launch the application again. If this fails, a re-installation of the .NET Compact Framework is recommended. Support info: -2147483643 (80000005)
I just got my SNS yesterday and it's my first android phone (was previously using an LG cookie) First thing I did was try to root it, and I seemingly succeeded, or so I thought. It looks like it's rooted and the superuser apps there but I can't install apps using any of the guides I find or even update to 2.3.2 (keep getting and error 7 msg). When I try to install using APKInstaller it tells me it can't find the device, which I think is the problem.
I think the problem is that someway or another windows 7 64 bit stopped recognizing my phone as a Nexus S and now recognizes it as a portable device in device manager (There's also an Android Phone, with an Android Composite ADB interface) I used the SDK to install all the updates available including the google usb driver rev. 4. I tried updating the Portable device driver using the google usb driver but windows keeps it as a WPD Filesystem Volume Driver. Also I noticed when I checked to see if adb gave me a serial number for the phone using the cmd prompt commands in the rooting guides it comes up blank.
I used usbdeview to delete everything seemingly related to Android, but everytime I reconnect the phone it, installs the drivers for the portable device.
I need help to make windows recognize the phone as a nexus s again so I can update and install apps and games etc. If anybody out there can help i'll really appreciate it. Explain the steps to me as if you were talking to a child, leaving nothing out plz. Thanks for any assistance.
I live outside the US (no android market) and would hate to think I messed up and expense phone purchase in just one day
Not quite sure where to start. But my intuition tells me its the Windows 7 64-bit and drivers that's not playing along. You might want to google if other users are having trouble with W7 64-bit with Android drivers. Otherwise, find another computer and repeat the steps. If not, flash a custom ROM to see if that eliminates the problem. You haven't damaged your phone. Don't worry.
just install directly from android market website
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I assume you mean instal the update from the market (which I can't do because I don't have wifi)?
I managed to get the adb to list a device number after I installed java x32 & x64 bit. I still can't install apps or get the update to work, but I'll try unrooting and then rerooting my phone as see how that goes.
Oh, I haven't done the initial sign into gmail thing yet in case that makes any difference
Edit: god I feel stupid. I didn't realize that I had to upgrade from 2.3 to 2.3.1 and then to 2.3.2. I did that an everything upgrade without any problems. Now just got to figure out how to install apk's and I'm golden
Edit 2: Ok, I figured everything out and now i'm up to date with updates and I can install apps and games. Oh Happy Day Thx for all the help
whenever I try and install the samsung usb drivers for my S3 the installer always fails with this message: "The MSS installation for SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones V1.4.6.0 has failed."
I had the universal naked drivers installed on this PC before for my tbolt and transformer prime, but it wasn't compatible with the S3 yet. There is an updated universal naked drivers that supports the S3, but when I try and back up my IMEI and put the phone into RMNET+DM+MODEM mode, the naked drivers don't recognize my device. in the regular MTP+ADB the drivers work fine.
so I imagine I need the samsung drivers to install for this to work. does anyone have any ideas how I could get the samsung usb drivers to install properly? I've also tried the V1.5.5.0 version as well and the installer fails as well. I've removed the universal naked drivers and tried to install without it and I still get the error. same thing in windows safemode. I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.
has anyone else had trouble with this? and any idea how to get the installer to work? thanks
Lots of people have been having this issue. I'm having it on XP at the moment... until now.
Per another thread I read here (for the Dell Streak, thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291293) you can force Windows to use the generic driver instead of the Samsung one.
Basically, I edited a copy of the INF to match my device info, then entered the info into the [Generic] area of the INF. I then told Windows to allow me to manually select the driver, and pointed it to this INF file. Voila... I now have generic driver support for MTP in XP SP3. I imagine the same thing might work with other versions of Windows, since I'm not really using any non-Windows drivers.

Download and install PDAnet app to your computer, this app will install the driver for you. You have to select "Samsung" during the install. Once done you can uninstall the app but the driver stay.
If PDA net doesn't work for you, go into device manager and select your phone, click on properties, advanced, and install the drivers manually.
So, I came across another way to get the drivers to load without any INF file hacking. If you simply tell Windows (XP in my case) to update the driver, then tell it you will manually point to it, you can find a suitable one in the folder C:\Program Files\SAMSUNG\USB Drivers\25_escape (after you install the MSS driver pack, of course).
Unfortunately, in my case, I use MediaMonkey to manage this, and it doesn't seem to notice the "difference" between my phone and my wife's (both SGS3s). That's their fault, though... they clearly have some bugs in there.
that's the problem... the MSS pack fails to install. I tried copying the samsung\USB Drivers folder from my desktop (which the driver install worked on) to my laptop and manually pointing to the folder, but it says it can't find a driver for it. kind of odd. I'll have to try the PDA net drivers to see if that will work. thanks for the help guys

Thanks this worked for me
Hi all guys I need some help because i'm working on that since half an hour and I cant solve it.
I bought a new pc with windows 8.1x64 as operating system. I plug my TF300T and it don't recognize it. In the device tree it is marked with a yellow triangle and when i try to update the drivers manually installing them from the directory where I store the .inf (which work perfectly under windows 7x64) it returns me an error message saying that the .inf file is written for a win95 or newer operating system.
can you help me to fix this?
I already tried out the method illustrated in TF300T troubleshoot thread here on XDA where they suggest to disable the driver signature enforcement

Try these drivers here that I used for windows 8
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407571009
Thank you man.
I solved. Appareantly you can't install ANY android drivers on windows 8.1 N. You MUST HAVE windows media player installed on the system. Some dll dipendency i think. The usual stupid microsoft things.
Hi all,
I am total stuck trying to connect my Xiaomi Mi Note to a Windows PC but I just canĀ“t get the USB Driver installed. I downloaded all available drivers plus Mi Suite but I keep on getting the yellow marked symbol in the device manager and every attempt to update or install the drivers manually failed. Feeling like a noob. Device it rooted and running MIUI 8.
Any ideas?
Your issue is that any driver they release won't pass Microsoft certification process. This is due to them using drivers that are not properly made but hacked together. There are some hacked drivers but that is on you if you willing to risk it. Part of the reason no devs here buy their devices.
Thank you for your post. I just need a chance to connect in order to use BackupTrans to convert my Whatsapp and Viber Messages. Were would I find those drivers. Is the install process the old manual way (like use disk, to install driver)?
Did you try manually installing the drivers to the Device Manager? right click, search for drivers on my PC.. point to the driver folder and choose let me pick, pick the last one.
